Watching him not pick up the meitou weapons really hurts
For anyone that’s curious, the best armor setup for good protection is crab helm, samurai plate armor and samurai plate legs. Wooden sandals for move speed buff and attack speed buff. If you can pull it off, get a set of blackened chain mail. Masterwork is the best but specialist will do with this set.
@@dabeep2304 I always forget about unholy plate, stuff is definitely good, it just doesn’t sell as well as samurai stuff for some reason. Sell price should always be considered, especially when you’re crafting toms of them for resale ;)
is that regardless of what weapon ur using? Like even for martial art or crossbows?

@@Vikingskog crossbows and martial arts are different. For MA, go for armorer plate rags and skirt, the chest wrappings, sandals and the headband wrap. Give decent protection and great maneuverability for the fighting. Crossbows I usually just give drifters leathers jacket for the range buffs it gives and the best hat for perception buff. I’m on a modded play through so my crossbow recommendation is lackluster
The heavy armor recommendation is for anyone that’s not using those to fighting abilities, though not great for Dex mains. I’d do some testing, but I work too much to find out what the light armor is compared to heavy
@@nerfmodderguy217I have crossbowmen equipped with sidearm cleavers so they can do melee.
Between Mercenary Plate and Iron straw hats they do fine.

If a character gets stuck just pick him up with another character. Also I think you left a meitou behind.

@@Paganachoj did the same thing recently. Saving and reloading and resetting squad positions also workd
Mad Cat-Lon, General Jang and Head of Agriculture can all be recruited with the "Recruitable Prisoners"-mod.
I don't even play this game but I've watched the whole dang Kenshi series on this channel, such emotional investment in these character by now haha.
I have been on the edge of my seat waiting for this episode, I cant wait to dive in and find out whats going on with the most inspiring team in the kenshi universe.

From what I was able to interpret is a long time ago there was a big explosion at The Crater which the head of agriculture had something to do with, it caused massive tsunamis that carried those rusted metal boats in the middle of the map where there's obviously no water or any reason for them to be there. He caused the famine around the world of Kenshi thats why there are cannibals all over the map. Skeletons then created the Shek by manipulating human DNA to fight the cannibals. The bugmaster was believed to be a scientist long ago, he created the skin spiders and possibly the Hivers but he's gone insane a long time ago.
I dont know too much about General Jang, like the CPU said him and the hydraulic knights were very powerful and heroic but then they started killing anyone who someone said was a "pirate" kind of like ~300 years ago when you could call a random woman you dont like a "witch" and she would get put to death with no proof.
Whatever happened in Kenshi's past was very horrible. A lot of skeletons you talk to say they "wipe their memory every few hundred years" so their memory doesnt get corrupted but I think that's a lie they tell non-skeletons. If you talk to a skeleton as a skeleton they'll say stuff like "what we did in the past was horrific" but they wont say that to a human.
They destroyed their entire civilisation to the point where they can't rebuild anything meaningful, now they're forced to live on the planet they destroyed with their mutant creations, watching them all kill each other and eat each other and skin each other alive lol

I bet youre right but pirates suggests ships/sea raiders so maybe the sea drained out after awhile? Or it got blown away from the blast?
@@bertbargo7162 I know the explosion at the crater is the reason a lot of the landscape is f'd up and it caused huge tsunamis that washed those barges deep into the land. There's definitely places where the water dried up of course you're right about that!
There's a lot more to it, but you did a decent short summary. Cat Lon was more involved in the tyranny of the Empire, the cannibals were around before the famine as the original empire had the cataclysm with the Crater (think of the obedience and Stobe)
@@Mallard792 It's definitely too much to explain in a youtube comment that's for sure! The most fascinating part for me is how long some of these characters have been around. I can't even imagine living 1000 years, a memory you thought you had a few weeks ago was realistically 35 years ago lol
You can mod the game to have the number of attack slots be increased from 1 to something like 3.
That means 3 characters can gang up on 1 and so your characters can attack 3 at a time.
That also means that the enemy can do the same to you which makes group battles more exciting and dangerous for both parties.
That also makes the Fogmen a threat because you are always outnumbered and take more hits than dealing them
a suggestion, now that you are more familiar with the game mechanics, i would love to see a new Kenshi playthrough by you when this one is over.

Did you find the dragon rock formation yet? Can be seen as a sideview on top of a large mountain in the ashlands.
Always bring a traders backpack with parts to build a small shack, bed, repair bed, small wind turbine, and a prisoners cell. Fits in 1 bag. I dotted them throughout the map, near dangerous places.
How does that work with base raids etc.?
@@noblej7897 Baseraids only take place in occupied bases. So there no problem with having a few of these pitstops.
i.e. i made one near the spider factory, it has acid rain, maaaany patrols and the factory itself.

1:47 if your characters ever get stuck in buildings you can use another controlled character to pick them up and get them unstuck

i've enjoyed this series more than my current playthrough, kudos subbed and liked all the vids. this is some good shit, no idea why the algorithm didn't recommend it, stumbled on it while looking for biome info.
you got no chance vs cat-lon unless you can take out a town... cheese attack, balls out, real tactics. don't matter, you'll need to pull off a attack.
i mean you can do uber cheese, but it'll be soo unsatisfying compared to battle.
also "Minor Faction Pacifiers" is essential for base + allied reinforcments. random stuff can happen at the base and do stuff across the world; like guards attacking their allies or shops.
if you leave Tech Hunters hostile they may slaughter everyone...

Best heavy armor combo is still:
Crab helmet
Crab armor
Samurai legs
Leather turtleneck
Wooden shoes
Wouldn't blackened chainmail masterwork be better than turtleneck???
@@noblej7897 Nope, it gives penalties. So with the leather turtle, you got full coverage in %, and zero penalties.

2:00 when someone in your party is stuck behind an object or something, just have someone else in your party go adjacent to them and pick them up, walk away from the area that trapped them, and put them down. easy fix

Going into the Ashlands without gas protection is a very bad idea as you found out.

If your character is stuck somewhere, just have someone else pick him up.
In extreme cases, reload and click the option that resets squad locations.
Beware though, it moves everyone to your current area.

I think lore will be important for kenshi 2, seeing it plays out in the last days of the 2th empire.

Next time someone got stuck in the tower, just get someone close to him and pick him up. On the other side, and archer with no bolt is not super useful in the Ashland.

Not sure if you have it but perhaps the "compressed textures" mod in steam workshop can help your pc in handling Kenshi better.

small hint. those robots are using Katanas so equip ur team with heavy armor. for the gas use gasmasks ;) and ur team should use armor pen. weapons +dmg vs. robots @ ashlands
