A beautiful performance from a 1960 broadcast of the Act 1 Love Duet from Korngold's last opera KATHRIN sung by a radiant Gundula Janowitz, partnered by Rudolf Christ, a fine tenor who is much overlooked today. Wilhelm Loibner conducts with verve and a real sense of Korngoldian style that is largely missing from the complete commercial recording of 1997.
