Zeeman is a Dutch chain store that sells all kinds of different stuff, from clothes to cleaning products to yarn (I buy Royal quite often, usually for blankets!). Zeeman is sailor in English, but also the last name of the person that started the chain store. I normally use a hook size 5 (H-8), 5,5 (I-9) or 6 (J-10) with the yarn.

First time viewing and Happy Belated Birthday. You received a wonderful haul from Mary Maxim. Love their yarn and the coral colors will make a beautiful afghan or maybe a sweater. The baby Bernat yarn would make a wonderful hat and/or scarf for a child or hat for an adult (sm-m). The Cato with purple would make you a beautiful scarf to wear. ♥️🧶🧶🧶🎉🎂🥰

I love Zeman Royal yarn and it is one of the best value yarns in Europe. Most of the yarn you got is sold over here. We do not go by weight but look at the recommended needle size.

The Cato yarn is probably pronounced with a long a (like Kay-to). I think the case is used for straight knitting needles or possibly Tunisian/Afghan crochet hooks.

With the size of the holder I would think knitting needle storage. You could use it however you want though.

I love Mary Maxim Mystery bags, you got a lot of beautiful yarn. I got one a few weeks ago and I got very similar yarn in mine, I am still deciding what I am going to make with the Royal yarn, I got the same peach tone as you but the other color is more mustard yellow 💖

Mary Maxim does their Mystery Yarn boxes by the yarn value not by a yarn skein count so the amount of yarn by skein in the Mystery Yarn box may vary month to month. Usually the Mystery Yarn box of the month will be similar for everybody who orders that month.

How is the softness in comparison to red heart? I can’t stand to use red heart. It’s too rough.
I also find Red heart way too rough and scratchy. I find the Royal Zeeman yarn is much softer than Red heart.
