People used to drive cars without seatbelts for decades, does that mean we shouldn't use seatbelts today? And finally, most importantly, he was not arrested for not having a light on his bike. He was arrested for fleeing from police resulting in injury to an officer. It does not matter what the initial reason for a stop is, if you flee from said stop that is a crime. He was also acting extremely immature and confrontational with the cops for no reason long before he was "decentralized" (lmao) from the bike, hence the disappointment. No normal, reasonable person in that situation would have chosen to flee from a police car with lights and siren active, let alone *while riding a bicycle.* In that jurisdiction, lighting on bicycles is treated the same as lighting on cars.
