Nice VHS opening/closing video to a great movie from 1956, I can see why this and Love in The Afternoon was Allied Artists(responsible for The Bowery Boys movies and horror/b-movies)attempt to get into more big-budgeted A films by signing contracts with several movie producers and directors including Billy Wilder,John Huston,Gary Cooper, and of course,William Wyler. despite Friendly Persuasion's critical acclaim and nominated for 6 Oscars,It was not a box-office success for Allied Artists.
Trivia note: Michael Wilson wrote the screenplay but was uncredited because he was blacklisted for Communist sympathies - all rights NOW go to Warner Bros.
All rights are now go to Warner Bros. Pictures and Warner Bros. Television Distribution, a Time Warner Company. From 1986-onwards, it was first aired on A&E, AMC, Bravo, Lifetime, PBS, Sundance TV, TBS, TCM, TNT, USA, VH1 and WEtv.
Very interesting song. The legendary Pat Boone performed the title track. Released by Dot Records in that era. At least TCM airs this and more.
