What deliverance ministry did they go to? I could use freedom from both self-hate & need God's love big time
Do you listen to christian music? Listening to some of them can remind you of God's love and help you feel peace with yourself. Pray and ask the holy spirit to remove any self hate. Also ask a pastor in church to pray for you. That is what I think may work anyways

When man is born, if you're not born into a saved Holy Ghost filled family, what you are born in your heart with is an idol. God isn't there! Upon accepting Jesus Christ, you also have to seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit. What happened to this couple is that, the idols that have been destroying lives in the family for generations put up a fight to remain in the family. It was good that they sought God and not give up. Their act have saved generations. They have four children, these four children will have children filled with the Holy Spirit and so forth. That is why Jesus came. Glory to God!

Yes, do an inventory of your home. Throw out ANYTHING questionable as regards the occult. Then do an inventory of your previous life. Confess and reject, throw out in the name of Jesus. It would be good to get a proper bible believing truly born again Pastor or established Christian to pray with you and through your home and over your life.
Don't be put off by Hollywood's depictions of demons and Rosemary's Baby etc. Satan uses these films made in hell to scare people away from getting delivered.

He said he was going to run away I've heard that before.
