Hi Kevin; I was on with this net on 15 meters last Friday night (8/12/22 on 21.205) and contacted Clem VK4XCS along with 4 others. They then announced they were moving to 20 meters on 14.183 and finally closed the net at about 11:30pm local time. I'm also in Arizona 20 miles north of Tucson. I'm on 4 acres in a non HOA area and I was sitting on my deck under the moonlight with a perfect 80 degree evening! A couple cold brews, sitting on the deck, no city lights and playing radio. It doesn't get better! 😀 Mike ND7E
That's Valery from Russia. He's on the air often. Very strong station. I seem to hear him in the PHX area between 4pm and 8pm local time. Lots of contacts with him. Always around 14.225 + - a few mhz. Thanks for the video.
Great video, Kevin! BTW, the flea keeps jumping and I'm having a lot of fun. It's a great teacher in showing me just how much I don't know and can't (yet) do. Thanks!
Good going with the Flea Kevin. When 20m is open like that, it's an amazing band. Good to hear John VK7XX in Taz. Have worked him JT modes in the past but never SSB.
That audio distortion is the contributing factor that makes me wonder why the industry decided to dispense with the RF gain..fortunately, it is reappearing again..
Great stuff Kevin. Field day conditions were great for us. We were in our RV with a few club members dropping in. When operations were over on Sunday night the conditions were super quiet and enjoyed some amazing SWL enjoyment with my wife. De VA7VEB.
Hi Kevin, It was awesome checking onto that Australian net. Thanks for that link to the live MUF map. Have it on my desktop now. It's been about five years or so since I had a contact with Valerie. Nice that you had one with only 300mW. I know what pain can do. I wanted to participate in the IARU contest, but I'm fighting a tooth ache and increased low back pain. Just didn't have any will left to get on the radio. Hope you have a safe trip back east. 73 WJ3U
I really enjoyed this video Kevin. Flee QRP and Aussy net. I was on that night also. Very unusual opening. I'm old and remember many solar cycles but this one was one of the wildest I recall. K7DT Don. 73
Great vid! CW is still on my list of things to learn. Just an FYI HamNation is now on Josh’s HRCC channel. TWIT dropped the show a while back. Be well. Be safe. 73
Because of work I missed this opening. Hope next time to be there at the right time. Would be nice to make contact with you and bunch of others. 73 Wim PA3GTL
We were doing Field Day just East of Williams, not far from you. We lost about 4 hours on Saturday due to storm after storm rolling through. None of them were as bad as you experienced. We were able to work 152 contacts. All QRP and battery powered, working two rigs.
Sorry about that¡ Try sending with your other hand. Am a lefty and after 50 years straight key and paddle learned a bug right handed. Maybe you can. Good luck! WB2SMK

Move over kids. Let Uncle Kevin show you how it’s done.

That's a good run, 152. The storm pattern returns this week, if you're still over there, buckle up.

Nice going on your 20 meter DX
Kevin, great video really enjoyed it. I'm curious what type of T/R switch are you using for your CW flea? Rich KG5IF
I just watched your video on The CW flea and that answered all of my questions.. Great little unit.
My tendon in my right arm is torn. Makes sending with sk pretty rough.

K, what antenna were you using with the Flea
End fed half wave cut for 40 meters.
