Abbie is brave about alot of things that is so awesome 😊 I want to present you & Priscilla a best parent award for everything you do for Abbie and Isaiah!!!!💯❤️
I liked how you reinforce shopping by taking her shopping clothes, shopping food shopping, it wasn’t just right in the car it was taken or shopping. That was an excellent way to teacher which shopping meant.
Assessments are so hard! I used to have to talk to my two kids on the autism spectrum before assessments that we were going to talk about our worst days so professionals could understand what life was like at our home. They are great adults now who still have different needs particularly with life skills. You guys are great parents of two wonderful young adults!!🎉
When I get a shot I noticed in one arm it hurts and in another arm I don’t feel it hurting. I normally look the other way and I even tryed squeezing the end of the bed that was in the one room I was sitting in. It took less then 10 seconds for the shot to go in and come back out.
I have a child & my nephew on the spectrum. Your channel has been an invaluable resource & there simply aren’t words for how appreciative we are for all you share! Thank you so much !
I feel the same way with my daughter. She's been doing so well, but you also need to address all her needs because reality is you do need the extra help. Although we may think we are superman or superwoman we all need a break sometimes.❤
I have been watching your family for years and love how much awareness and education you give to society about people with varying abilities. I am a case manager in Kansas for children and adults with varying abilities and meet a lot of families that don’t know what needs to happen for their kids once they turn 18. Would you be willing to do a video to help educate families on what all you needed to do once Abbie turned 18? I think it would help a lot of people!! Thank you for all you do.
I've been told many times that I should be working with different abled people. I wish I lived in Florida,bi would so apply to work with your family. Especially now my kids are gone from the home, I have all the time in the world!
I want to do sedation to at the dentist I can’t be awake during the dentist I am afraid and scared at the dentist. I have autism, pdd and hdhd. One time I even refused for the dentist to do anything. And I refuse to go to any dentist to do anything with out getting sedation. I have not tryed sedation yet to see how it all works. I wonder if anyone knows what they use to do sedation to put you to sleep and then wake you back up. I am very curious.
Ya know, there are going to be A LOT of teachers who are not coming back next year here in St Johns. ( contracting issues with $) I am sure you have heard already… just throwing that out there. ❤️😊❤️😊 I really enjoy your channel. Thank you for all you do.
I remember meeting an aunt of a friend when I was teen who was in her 50s that just learned to read simple books. She was so proud she wanted to show me. Everyone learns as they get older, how fast or slow, you never know
As a teacher, I'm really excited to see where Abbie's education goes from here. You've already been doing such a great job. And hey, if I can ever be of help to you, let me know :)
It's always so nice to see your videos and seeing Abigail learning new things very beautiful happy Thursday evening happy we can head love from Canada ♥️♥️🙏🙏🙂🙂🇨🇦
Your video are learning experience for those that don’t have autistic children also. And I Thank you for the videos. You have a Wonderful Family.I don’t comment every time you put out videos but I do appreciate them. Sometimes I just get busy but I want to watch. You also have a wonderful Son . He is very understanding.and Loves his sister. Thank You. I have seen Abbie has come along ways
I was never diagnosed with autism as they didn't know about it when I was a kid, but I probably have it to some degree. I remember one store my Mom and I would go to bugged me because of the noise of their fluorescent light fixtures. My Mom couldn't hear it. Also, we had a small black and white TV that would scream a high-pitched noise when it started up. So I get it, Abbie.
I feel you. I’m also autistic and recently found out in June, 2016. High pitched sounds drive me nuts! Loud music and night clubs don’t bother me. I have sensory issues with some things and not others.
Same! Same! Also, my moms still mentions stuff I did "bring bratty when I was little" but I believe it's was/is sensory issues, among other issues. I remember getting in trouble & crying over things bothering me, such as the seem at the toe on socks, like how the seem usually is across the front edge of your toes- I use to pull the socks to move the seem off my toes. I remember crying cuz my mom couldn't get my hair like a ponytail or French braids any tighter than she was already doing. I also remember having ossies w/ my shoes, saying they felt loose but my mom said you couldn't pull the laces any tighter either. Then school - that's another entirely different topic . 😂🤷♂️ Love & prayers you too both 🙏 💜
I think I have autism, and my grandparents have an old tv and the pitch is horrible, I ask my mom if she could hear it and she said no, but like fjkskeoebs its so loud why it doesn't annoy her??? My sister could hear it but not a lot lol
You can have sensory issues without autisim as well, i have sensory prosessing disorder due to trauma from a young age its stems from the PTSD i have serious issues with touch and sound i dont like to be touched and most fabrics drive me crazy too much going on overwhelms me too much noise makes my ears feel like their gonna bleed.. it can be other things just saying.
I have 3 kids. 8, 2, and 3.5 months. Both my older ones are autistic. It has taken a lot for me to go into appointments and realize and admit that my "normal" isn't the "norm" and me sugar coating my reality doesn't help anyone and it doesn't make me a bad parent because I may be struggling.
Did u happen to notice she has pick at the wall and there is a piece of paint missing right behind her when she is sitting on the couch off the computer room
Your habit conversation reminded me of this quote. WATCH YOUR THOUGHTS. FOR THEY BECOME WORDS. WATCH YOUR WORDS, FOR THEY BECOME ACTIONS. WATCH YOUR ACTIONS, FOR THEY BECOME HABITS. WATCH YOUR HABITS, FOR THEY BECOME CHARACTER. WATCH YOUR CHARAGTER, FOR IT BECOMES YOUR DESTINY. (sorry it’s all capped, that’s how it pasted)
I'm the same way, lol. I have to watch them put the shot in and don't even flinch. For me, it's an anxiety thing likewhat if they do it the wrong way or something. I also struggle with the lights and stuff too. I don't need sedation when I go to them but I do get anxious (that might just be my social anxiety though too.)
It is great to see and hear you talk about difficult things and informing about a lot of stuff, not living in Usa but in another country make me see how diffrent things are but the same, thank you for sharing
I work in a hospital and in my office, I have to turn off the ceiling lights because it causes headaches/migraines. So I can only imagine what it is like for Abbie. By the way, in the formal living room, I think that Abbie might be picking at the wall behind the couch. I saw a white spot on the wall.
Can I ask you guys a question? What do you say to folks who say you are exploiting Abbie? I just go back and forth between wanting to have my channel, and not wanting to deal with trolls/negative people... I've had the channel for a while, but only just got to 70 subs. Lol
I remember a while back you had mentioned needing to take some legal steps as parents now that Abby is 18. Can you do a video on that? Is it like a POA? What’s involved? Thanks.
Heyy i watch you guys all the time i have a qustion can isa homeschool abby cause he done with college or will that be to much for him just asking i love you guys ❤
My daughter is scared to death of a electric toothbrush as soon as I turn one on she takes off running down the stairs screaming so I got her one for nothing cause she's way to scared of it
Could Abbie just trying to have a conversation and just asking constantly for something. I.e. " Eat" ,not that she is asking for for, but talking about what she ate, wants to eat. Hope it makes sense.
My son is going to be 9yo Aug. 4th he started talking without his iPad (AAC) he's been talking almost 4 and 1/2 yrs and he still only talks about things he wants ,needs and his interests. He's not conversational!!
Asa and Priscilla I know that you are probably tired but Abbie has learned so much this year, it’s unreal to be honest. I think we can all see it. I know I see a very big difference in her, she is so much happier now❤
With disability stuff in Australia you basic it off your worse day not your best. You will never get the funding level you need for all worse days, but it will allow for you to have funding to accommodate some of your bad days.
What are Abbie’s biggest fears when she goes to a doctor appointments? I watch your videos as I’m studying for autism for my masters degree in Art Therapy and Counseling and I was curious.
Why do you talk about Abby & all of her struggles while she's standing next to you or within ear shot. She seems to understand much of what is being said about her.
Abbie is brave about alot of things that is so awesome 😊 I want to present you & Priscilla a best parent award for everything you do for Abbie and Isaiah!!!!💯❤️
Priscilla, that teal and tangerine combo looked stunning with your coloring. How beautiful you are !
Blessings to a wonderful family.
I like your attitude when Abbie keeps improving. Abbie is so brave when she's at her appointments. I like the shirt she has on too.
Noooo ASA, Abby has progressed Sooo Very Much under YourTEACHERSHIP This past year! ❤❤❤ It’s been an Incredible year ❤
Awe you guys are awesome parents and I know it’s not easy! I’ve worked with mentally challenged adults and it can be challenging! ❤
I liked how you reinforce shopping by taking her shopping clothes, shopping food shopping, it wasn’t just right in the car it was taken or shopping. That was an excellent way to teacher which shopping meant.
I meant to how Abbie uses her IPad Communicator, and when she talks about shopping

Sounds like your lovely daughter is learning to negotiate. You are an amazing family. Keep having fun with your technology you darling girl.
Hi Abbie and family! It makes my day when you guys post videos! I really really enjoy watching your videos and your family! You guys are amazing!

I wish you could take Abby to our dentist. He uses sedation and also has an awesome therapy dog named Bear. He sits right in the chair with you.
I definitely love positive reinforcement. And don’t worry guys. Over time she will learn to use it to communicate better cos you guys are helping🤗🤗
I've been told many times that I should be working with different abled people. I wish I lived in Florida,bi would so apply to work with your family. Especially now my kids are gone from the home, I have all the time in the world!
I love your attitude that she will keep progressing 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. Are you sometimes worried about regression?

I love Priscilla’s colorful shirt!
14:59, a white mark on the teal wall behind Abbie's head. A piece of paper or lint stuck or paint peeling?
I remember meeting an aunt of a friend when I was teen who was in her 50s that just learned to read simple books. She was so proud she wanted to show me. Everyone learns as they get older, how fast or slow, you never know

I had to replay because I heard him say banana in the middle of answering a question. I love that I know what that means!

Motor memory or automaticity
Is Abby going to make things to sell on your site I love the things she makes
Cookies is necessary for me today too especially since I’m a diabetic and my blood sugar dropped
Did you see that Abbie was picking at the wall behind the couch?
Have you started to do the paperwork to become Abbie legal guardian?
How do you do eyes doc
Hello beautiful Maass family ❤🥰
I work in a hospital and in my office, I have to turn off the ceiling lights because it causes headaches/migraines. So I can only imagine what it is like for Abbie. By the way, in the formal living room, I think that Abbie might be picking at the wall behind the couch. I saw a white spot on the wall.
Also saw that, I kept shouting at the screen hoping they could hear me lol!
It’s called muscle memory! You were close Cilla! ❤😊
Was she just picking the paint off the wall?
ABBY IS AMAZING GIRL 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩✨✨✨❤️❤️❤️❤️ DOES SHE HAVE BREAKS ON IPAD??? OR OTHER PRFER ITEMS THAT SHE WORKED FOR
Question for anyone, what changes happen when you child turns 18?
uh oh a pickable chip in the paint!! do something!!
I’ve had to cut my coffee habit down too ❤❤
Hi Mass family, do you take Abbie on to Disney World? Do you think that she will be ok or not?
Abbie has been to Disney
And, don't be afraid to admit you need help. I think that is the hardest part.
I missed submitting my question, but is Abbie no longer attending the Jacksonville School for Autism? Is there a reason she's not there anymore?
@@toniakind6686 thank you. That makes sense!
Did Asa play car banana with us while he was alone I the car 😂😂😂😂also 😂😂😂 the look at us question ..
I watch as I'm getting blood taken or getting an injection too, I find it fascinating plus I'd rather see what they're doing to me 😆
Does it count if you are alone and say banana? 😂 I always thought it was a game between more than one.
I thought the same thing 😊
Lol I was going to say the same thing. I don’t think it counts when your alone😂
My son took a pic from NH and sent it to us in NJ😂😂 he’s then tells us that he has more points then us and said it counts if you share it
Can I ask you guys a question? What do you say to folks who say you are exploiting Abbie? I just go back and forth between wanting to have my channel, and not wanting to deal with trolls/negative people... I've had the channel for a while, but only just got to 70 subs. Lol
When you guys started to answer the looking at the camera question I literally lol'd and woke up my boyfriend and our son looked at me like 😳🤣
I remember a while back you had mentioned needing to take some legal steps as parents now that Abby is 18. Can you do a video on that? Is it like a POA? What’s involved? Thanks.
Heyy i watch you guys all the time i have a qustion can isa homeschool abby cause he done with college or will that be to much for him just asking i love you guys ❤
My daughter is scared to death of a electric toothbrush as soon as I turn one on she takes off running down the stairs screaming so I got her one for nothing cause she's way to scared of it
Don't ever give up on yourself

Yeah, they have also said that
My son is going to be 9yo Aug. 4th he started talking without his iPad (AAC) he's been talking almost 4 and 1/2 yrs and he still only talks about things he wants ,needs and his interests. He's not conversational!!

Not sure if anybody else noticed this, but I saw the jeep wave you gave that other person driving one lol
I’d love to see your sons channel what’s the name of his channel please
Isaiah Maass
Assa your hat matches the wall paint
Asa and Priscilla I know that you are probably tired but Abbie has learned so much this year, it’s unreal to be honest. I think we can all see it. I know I see a very big difference in her, she is so much happier now❤
Sooo Very True ❤ 100% ❤
Do you miss your Tik Tok store? Sorry I couldn't remember the name of it? 17:24

@Cheyenne Elizabeth Thank You 😊
@@terriedenna7751
You’re welcome, I wasn’t sure if that was the right name
Lights in doctors and Hospitals make me feel dizzy it's horrible, that's from a neural typical adult so can't imagine how it makes others feel.
How have things changed for you two now that Abbie has turned 18? Does she gain more ‘rights’? Do legal things like guardianship come into play, etc.?
Muscle Memory 14:29
With disability stuff in Australia you basic it off your worse day not your best. You will never get the funding level you need for all worse days, but it will allow for you to have funding to accommodate some of your bad days.
What music does Abbie like to jam to? What movies does Abbie like to watch?
Can I ask her something
What are Abbie’s biggest fears when she goes to a doctor appointments? I watch your videos as I’m studying for autism for my masters degree in Art Therapy and Counseling and I was curious.
I also watch them give me shots or draw blood. I glad it does not bother her.
Asa? You called out Banana and no one else was in the car!!!
Looks like I’m the winner then!
It’s mucle memory
Is it just me....but Isiah reminds me of a young Tom Cruise...also his voice a little bit too....

Why do you talk about Abby & all of her struggles while she's standing next to you or within ear shot. She seems to understand much of what is being said about her.
You both are fabulous parents
I think that muscle memory is what you were trying to say.
What type of questions did they ask in the meeting? Will there be an upcoming video on all things guardianship?
