  • Shooting in Shinjuku/新宿, Shibuya/渋谷, Asakusa/浅草, Akihabara/秋葉原, showing how the town looks like on the first weekend. Japan declared the Second State of Emergency due to the pandemic, however, there is a big day for 20 year adults "coming of age day/成人式の日" on this weekend. Every year there are so many people in major cities in Tokyo, but how about this year? Let's go to check with me.
    Hope you can feel walking in Tokyo cities with me.

      Same here - although it’s been quite a while since I last lived there (the 80’s and 90’s) or have even been back to visit. In any case, watching videos like this always brings back lots of great memories. For example I am now remembering back to 1990 when my girlfriend at the time wore her Kimono to meet me on Coming of Age Day and how beautiful she looked in it. I also remember being shocked to learn that it cost the equivalent of about $20,000 in today’s money - must be nice to have wealthy parents. Some girls even wear their Kimonos out to the nightclubs on these types of special days, which seemed kind of crazy to me at first. After all, you can hardly walk in a Kimono and it’s almost impossible to get up and down subway stairs. I also remember wondering at the time why many of these Kimono clad girls were carrying around fancy department store bags as if they had just gone shopping on their way to the club. Of course as I was lucky enough to meet and hit it off with one of these girls I found out the next morning that these bags actually hold a change of clothes in case they should end up hooking up with someone. Apparently its almost impossible to put on a Kimono without assistance from someone who knows what they are doing so you always need to have a change of clothes if you think there is a chance that you might be spending the night away from home.

      @@SLOBeachboy The Coming of Age day doesn't seem very innocent. I would never let my daughter just sleep with some random guy...lol

    • @SLOBeachboy
      @SLOBeachboy 3 роки тому +4

      @@Pixics First of all I did not mean to imply that women are more likely to hook up with a guy on coming of age day than on any other day of the year, and the fact of the matter is the two things are totally unrelated. I was just pointing out how unusual I thought it was at the time to see women in Kimonos at a bar or nightclub.
      Furthermore you have to understand that Japan does not have the same puritanical roots as western nations like the USA do and this means that sex there is just viewed as a normal and natural human function, much like eating or sleeping. It is not something to be ashamed of or to feel guilty about. It is also generally not used by women as a bargaining chip to manipulate men. If two people like each other its just something they do. The truth is the Japanese just have a much healthier attitude towards the sex and their bodies than we do here in the West. Of course in any country you go to the girls who are going out to nightclubs are probably going to be more likely to hook up with someone that same day than say the women you meet in the library or the supermarket. That’s pretty much just common sense. But even the girls who end up sleeping with a guy they met in a club in Japan are still for the most part very nice and sweet girls. Naturally, as in any country, some of these girls are just interested in having fun for the night but most I’m sure are hoping to find a serious long term relationship, just as I was at the time. Also bear in mind that girls here in the USA do not hook up with men in bars and clubs to nearly the degree that they did in the 70’s and 80’s. So its entirely possible that this same trend started taking hold in Japan sometime after I left in 1995. I really don’t know.
      As for what you said about not letting your daughter sleep with some random guy all I can say is, good luck getting a 20-year old adult daughter to do what you want, particularly where sex and dating are concerned. You just have to let them go and hope for the best.

    • @Pixics
      @Pixics 3 роки тому

      @@SLOBeachboy When a parent is present in their child's lives and behaves morally, when the children become adults they will respect the parents and behave morally as well. Me and my wife were not rebellious to our parents when we became adults. And yes, nightclub girls are different than maybe the women who don't do that.
      The purpose of sex is to create families. At least everyone can admit that's what it's for at a biological level. So when the intention is to have sex outside of family creation, what do you get. Family destruction. Divorce rates go up, blended families, a lot of single moms, abortions. There is a reason why societies guarded a women, because destroying the family destroys the nation. Which I can see in Japan, birthrates have collapsed.

    I’m your newest subscriber. Your videos are great. I visited all the places in this video when I went to see my son and daughter in law in 2017. Yuka is Japanese and has now relocated/emigrated with my son to Australia. I hope to come back soon to your beautiful country.
