Its really nice when you do a thorough inspection and decide to replace slip clutches at the same time. With the row unit gearboxes hex shaft pulled, you can turn the gearboxes very easily by hand. :D
I used a manual puller, Posi-lock model 210. I had to make a custom extension rod to get enough reach (an old beefy hitch pin the correct diameter and cut to length would be excellent). Grind it to a rough point to center it on the stalk roll shaft, and make a small dimple on the other end to keep alignment with the puller. Or get a purpose built stalk roll puller.

Can you describe the size and brand name of the hydraulic puller? Minimum size required of the hydraulic puller and the cost?
We had this one custom built for us quite a few years ago! There are pullers that are available through John Deere that range in price.
