    GV. Snow capped mountains in background, pan down to massed crowds around ski run. The opening event of the World Skiing Championship, men's slalom in progress. LV. Towards and pan, slalom contestant Bud Werner of USA, weaving in and out of flags - he just catches one and knocks it down. Zoom shot into skier coming down run. LV. Beni Obermuller of Germany coming down run, he crashes to the ground and slides into the crowd. SV. Pan, another skier sliding down slope on his backside. He manages to right himself. SV. Pan, another skier falling and trying to right himself, but he falls again. SV. Pan, Bernard Perret of France sliding down the slope on his side and knocking down a flag as he goes. CU. Girl taking photograph. LV. Towards and pan, Anton (Toni) Sailer of Austria weaving in and out of flags - he just catches one knocking it down but he continues his run. SV. Pan, Sailer approaching the finish but he gets over eager and crashes to the ground in a cloud of snow. He picks himself up again. SV. Josl Rieder of Austria skiing fast down slope and manoeuvring beautifully between the flags. Camera pans with him into back view, down slope towards the finish. SV. Pan, Josl Rieder crossing the finishing line and stopping in front of the crowd in a cloud of snow. SV. Spectators applauding. CU. Toni Sailer, on left of picture, shaking hands with Josl Rieder, the winner.
