Her opposition to the ERA has remained a serious divisive issue for both men and women and I also know that only conservative fools want to limit women to being in a domestic environment and not outside of it. In other words, such limits on women do not really promote true equality, dignity, independence, and freedom. Furthermore, conservatives can often be such hypocrites when it comes to what constitutes freedom, dignity, and independence while not being into equal rights on the gender front. That is why I NEVER really trusted those conservatives who think they speak for the interests of certain people in general and with women in particular. Schlafly should have deserved absolutely NO CREDIBILITY whatsoever on the issues affecting the American people because she remained a conservative with a deep philosophical view of only THE PAST and NOT the future of humanity itself.
I disagree with her politics, but I appreciate someone who is intelligent and articulate. I understand how she came to the conclusions she came to. We are very different women, but we need intelligent debate imo.
