I know what you mean. We often get days like that, especially when the boss asks how long it will take then you hit problems and need another half day to finish, panic sets in as he already books in a new job for tomorrow! Keep up the great work and carry on regardless.👍👍👍.
Such a refreshing change to see - someone who is not bothered about looking good on camera - shows it how it really is with no BS edits! Felt bad for ya m8... what a a day, sad to say I have those far too regular :p
I have never been able to say my jaw literally dropped watching something before now… but 3 mins in, when it showed the 2.5 T&E just laying in the ground with a junction box connection just there on the damp leaves, it actually happened for the first time ever.
I find it easier bringing the SWA into a wiska box external of shed wall, and drilling through the back of box into shed and either conduit upto or low level DB 👍
You have not connected the cpc in the swa but glanded the swa in to a metal db which will be earthed from the earthing in house db ? Just letting you know as you’ve still got the garage db earthed from the house. Pull the swa out and gland in to a plastic enclosure below unless those garage dbs are plastic of course 👍
It could be the house end which wasn't shown, is either a plastic housing on the fuse board or the cable terminated in a plastic box but yes separate earthing for both.
hello i want my shed conected from my house very simular to this video [which has beed a great help keep up the good work ] what i really need to know what is an average price i should pay for this work ty tony m
I have a fuse board at front of house, at back of house i have 3 outbuildings plus a garage, the garage has a bc board already and the other sheds have lights and power outlets, i now have another shed right up back of garden, which i would like power to also, light switches and power outlets for tv, electric stove etc,,, is there anyway i can get enough power to the new shed, without connecting to the fuse board at front of the house, because we are talking thick walls floor access minimal and its like 500 meters plus away, the garage and out buildings are around 200 meters away from new shed. Cheers
@@d4ngerous4 I would definitely recommend getting a electrician out to have a look at your installation that you have now and see if it can be adapted to suit your needs 👍
@@GreenHawkConstructionltd ofcourse , i just wondered if it was possible to run off another box attached to the same cables as existing, i get its hard to answer cause depends on existing cable etc, just looking for a general idea, if its not unheard of. Cheers anyway👍
ffs, unbelievable how it was, goodness me. shocking. literally. sorry your day didn't go fully to plan but you're right, we just have to accept it and look forward to a better one
I believe regulations require a separate means of earthing which should not be connected to the house earthing due to a possible potential difference and earth leakage(TNS system).
watched a few 'power to shed' videos now and they all seem overbuilt. 6mm cable and a consumer unit for 2 lights? looking at my own project, a 20m cable run, absolute max power drawer will be 1kW... so the calculators say i should be ok with 1mm cable so im going with 2.5 anyway for saftey margin. am i missing something or the pros just want to cover themselves in case someone decides to run an electric oven in the shed they wired?
Grip-it fixings are ok but you'd have been easier and had smaller holes with ordinary hollow wall anchors. The ones that open up behind the drywall when you tighten the screw(or use the setting tool).
A piece of plywood spanning across the corner and window battens would have also provided a solid base for fixing and room for an additional socket mounting.
Never understood how even a diy,er like myself would do such crap work....if you're not sure how , ask someone...read up on it . . look at other similar jobs.... FIRST

I loved that! "How To Install Power In Your Shed" have a cup of tea and try again another day. 😄
When you reach the 100k, keep it real world and like this. You wont go far wrong 👊

Keeping it real from day one mate
Keep your chin up Mike. We all have naff days. The way i see it, if today is a bad day tomorrow will be better.

Thank you mate great job done thanks for this video
Is there extraneous in there ?
If not why have you put an earth rod in???
Why use an earth rod?
did you say? is it tncs or what? if tncs, why do you need earth rod? I am just asking, interested.
Isnt the garage board still connected to the PME via the armouring of the SWA?
No it is separated at the other end via a plastic enclosure
Why did you need to make the shed a TT System??
The house supply is TNCS OR TNS
so why not just connect armoured cable to earth of house System??

I’d like to know this too? Mine needs tidying up
What would you do if you couldn't connect to the main board? could you spur from an outside socket?
Nice video. Would've preferred a Wiska box on the outside to take the SWA

I'd have slung some CT1 Power Grab n Bond on it 😂😂😂
Great video too, shame about the Armeg - get onto them about that!!
I’m interested to know why you have used an earth rod and not the earth that is with the SWA cable.

I though consumer units needed to me fireproof now?
I've got an easyier job for you. Rewire down lights in my bathroom. Wiring all in the loft. Easy!
Function over form, is the saying you are looking for, the opposite to an artist who looks for form over function.
why tt?
W all have these days mate. Sometimes, you just have to know when to take the hints and give up. Try again tomorrow.
2 jobs might look the same but they never are…also some sheds are not suited to be wired .. but try telling some customers ….
Stick some sticks like shi* on the back of the board for extra strength

Can we stop calling it DIY job and instead just say "installed by someone who doesn't give a fuck"
Yep some 'DIY' better than 'pros' in a rush...
