The cattle show in Appenzell Innerrhoden takes place in sunny autumn weather. The animals were led to the brewery square with the "Öberefahre". As with a cattle drive from the Alps, the decorated cows, bulls and goats were driven into the village by herdsmen, goat boys and girls. At the end of the cattle drive the owner follows, along with other people, mostly family members.

After the cattle have been led to the scene, the herdsmen stand together to "Schelleschötte" (shake bells) and "Zauern" (natural yodel - herdsmen's yodel). They then hang the herdsmen's bells of the three bell-ringing cows and their buckets on the beams provided. While the herdsmen walk into the village, the judges begin placing the cows. During the afternoon, the cows will be awarded prizes in the relevant categories.
