Stray was incredible. Paid so much attention to everything to do with the cats movements and tendencies. Found the gameplay fun, and the story was unique. Wasn't the best game in the world, but it was a lot better than a lot of the AAA games coming out now that overstay their welcome.

Why wouldn't there be a Stray 2? Annapurna didn't make Stray they published it. Blue Twelve Studio created and developed Stray. I have not heard or read anything from Blue Twelve but I'd be curious as to what obligations they had with Annapurna in regards to publishing a sequel, but I doubt they gave the rights up.

The Stray game looked like it was a fun interactive game that allows you to journey around from the POV of a stray cat. You get to interact with objects and people and rest anywhere you want. It was a peaceful game with no blatant modern politics in it. It’s unfortunate that this game didn’t get enough hype but everyone is entitled to what they enjoy.

Nimona was a really good movie for anyone wondering. The DEI scenes felt out of place but the two main characters were enjoyable to watch with some heartfelt moments.
I really hope the team resurfaces under a new name. I loved Stray, it is just something so different, unique, well crafted and above all fun compared pretty much anything else in the industry. Just a pure game with a cool story, no microtransactions and made with love and passion. Its a rare thing and I need more of it.

remember these are PUBLISHERS (read: glorified marketing team) and not DEVELOPERS (the ones that actually can program and make games), they haven't made a single game, all their credited games were made by someone else, they provided funding, marketing and ESG compliance and that's it, that's what a publisher does. IF you are lucky you can strike the ESG compliance and if you are unlucky you have to add "push to release the game before it's done" to the pile.
Why do people keep saying this? The people that quit weren't game developers, they were a publishing house. They didn't make game, only finance them. So, without their billionaire owner's money, these 25 people have nothing.
I've been guessing a lot of it was the Remedy deal. These people liked publishing and funding smaller, creative games and didn't want to see all the company's resources tied up around a costly AAA sandbag, in the form of a media darling studio that just doesn't really sell enough to be sustainable. Or be taken over by some film and TV optioning rainbow chasing, culturally or financially. Consolidation around fewer bigger games and getting taken over by Hollywood culture and priorities has been a real problem for the last 10 years.
I am just waiting for this to turn out to be a 'Second Wind' type situation where the people who left the company turn out to be just as bad as the management they're blaming.
I don't trust anything that IGN reports on. This seems really one sided and doesn't show the owner side of the story. Also quite disappointed on the way you refused to go over the full article and just injecting your disdain for people who have money and start businesses as if they have no right to try to live their dreams or ambitions. remember these are PUBLISHERS (read: glorified marketing team) and not DEVELOPERS (the ones that actually can program and make games), they haven't made a single game, all their credited games were made by someone else, they provided funding, marketing and ESG compliance and that's it, that's what a publisher does. IF you are lucky you can strike the ESG compliance and if you are unlucky you have to add "push to release the game before it's done" to the pile.
Why do people keep saying this? The people that quit weren't game developers, they were a publishing house. They didn't make game, only finance them. So, without their billionaire owner's money, these 25 people have nothing.
I've been guessing a lot of it was the Remedy deal. These people liked publishing and funding smaller, creative games and didn't want to see all the company's resources tied up around a costly AAA sandbag, in the form of a media darling studio that just doesn't really sell enough to be sustainable. Or be taken over by some film and TV optioning rainbow chasing, culturally or financially. Consolidation around fewer bigger games and getting taken over by Hollywood culture and priorities has been a real problem for the last 10 years.

I am just waiting for this to turn out to be a 'Second Wind' type situation where the people who left the company turn out to be just as bad as the management they're blaming.
I don't trust anything that IGN reports on. This seems really one sided and doesn't show the owner side of the story. Also quite disappointed on the way you refused to go over the full article and just injecting your disdain for people who have money and start businesses as if they have no right to try to live their dreams or ambitions. I personally feel like this was a dispute between owner and employees and the employees thought they had the right to bully an owner like they were some kind of union boss. I'm hoping the owner doesn't try to play ball with them anymore and hope every other development company sees who these people are and think twice about hiring them in case they pull the same stunt again.
