    There's a section at the end of Can't Fear Your Own World 3 where the author discussed how Kubo has written a detailed backstory for nearly every character in Bleach and when the topic of Yoruichi and Urahara's backstory came up and Kubo told them it, they told Kubo it had to be drawn in manga form and not in a Light Novel.

    I quite like the idea that Urahara is a illegitimate child of the unknown fifth noble clan. The Shihohin clan found him and took him in, which would explain why he was always close with their princess, and was granted access to the dark history of the SS. It would also explain why he remains loyal to the system, as a descendant of the ones who commited the Origial Sin, he might feel obligated to keep the status quo as it is. It would also fit with his past as someone who has done a lot of dark deeds in service to the nobles, as well as his trait of viewing others as pawns, even those close to him.

    • @manuelacosta9463
      @manuelacosta9463 Рік тому +8

      That's true. Almost forgot that Squad 2 sees its members as expendable pawns who are sacrificed for the mission's sake. It makes you wonder how prevalent this policy was under Yoruichi's Captaincy since according to Soifon's flashbacks and other materials she tried to maintain a mild regime especially compared to Soifon's later authoritarian command. A superior bonding with lowly recruit like Soifon shows that even if they had the bodyguard protected dynamic.

    • @jrgenvellesen7800
      @jrgenvellesen7800 Рік тому +8

      @@manuelacosta9463 Indeed, Yoruichi's Captaincy does seem to go against the typical style of leadership that Soifon was expecting. Then again, it does seem like Soifon might have idealized Yoruichi because of how she was treated specifically. The fact that Soifon own reign as Captain was much closer to the norm, might hint that Squad 2 still kept up with their usual duites under Yoruichi, she was just more willing to be involved with and caring about her squad then what was normal.
      Given how cold and ruthless she came off as in the ending of CFYOW, it is clear that Yoruichi has the still has the ruthlessness of an assassin, she just does not like to show that side of herself unless she deems it necessary.

      @@jrgenvellesen7800 Yes. She has an interesting duality, assassin raised her entire life to be a weapon who nevertheless never let it go completely to her head yet is deadly. It's telling how she has made strides to shake off Soifon's ruthlessness and dedication, even disliking her use of deadly force in CFYOW when they battle Tokinada's hired assassins, pointedly telling her to not live up to the noble's legacy and expectations.

    • @jrgenvellesen7800
      @jrgenvellesen7800 Рік тому +5

      @@manuelacosta9463 Indeed. Yoruichi's story is one of nature vs. nurture, her desire for personal freedom and forming bonds clashing with her upbringing as an enforcer of a authoritarian government and maintaining a world that was founded upon deceit and bloodshed.
      The fact that she is overall more caring and personable then the often detached Kisuke, makes her more cold and ruthless moments all the more unnerving. More so because Kisuke is more upfront about that side of him, even when someone like Aizen is repulsed by his acceptance of the status quo.

    • @manuelacosta9463
      @manuelacosta9463 Рік тому +5

      @@jrgenvellesen7800 Yes. One moment that captures this with Yoruichi is when she meets Tokinada and throughout the meeting he rants that he can't comprehend that he would be seen as a bad person since the nobles are all like him regardless if they claim otherwise. Yoruichi sadly acknowledges this as the case. It shows how despite it all she still has a moral compass despite her old assassin's life and the contradicting dichotomy of someone from her world having such sentiments despite it being dictated that she not.

      I think he is a God like ichibe(sorry if i spelled his name wrong.), but only time will tell. He seems like the type of guy to play around using powers given to him rather than his true power no one knows about. I feel he is trying to achieve something, but for peace rather than destruction of worlds.

    Also liked how in CFYOW he objected to Yoruichi's suggesting that they memory wipe Hisagi for digging into the history of the Spirit King, being legitimately unnerved by her paranoid and increasingly hostile demeanor. Aizen's hogyoku and Ichigo share an interesting relationship. They are both Aizen's creation in a way and are both meant to be something with potential to become or surpass the soul king. Aizen wanted to become greater than his current self by removing the limitations on his soul so he merged with the hogyoku and became transcendent. Ichigo however became transcendent when he stopped limiting his soul and accepted it for what it was. The irony between wanting to be greater and accepting yourself to become greater is amazingly written by Kubo.

    Great video as usual. Nice to learn more about Urahara. I don't usually comment on videos in general, but there was something about this one that stuck out to me. I could be wrong, as the thumbnail image isn't that hi-res, but is the child Urahara image on the left AI generated? I did my best to examine it closely, and believe I noticed some tell-tale signs of it being such. As this is your video, it is certainly your prerogative to use AI generated imagery, and I realise it can be a great time saver; however, I believe I would be remiss if I did not point out the issues with a channel that discusses Kubo's work, generally praising his artistry, using (either personally generating or sourcing from a third party) the outputs from software which have ingested the works from millions of artists and creatives, including Kubo, without permission, compensation, or even credit. Furthermore, the art style of that image looks like pretty standard anime-esque AI imagery, meaning it's likely using fine-tuning models which are themselves mostly created by training on artists works without permission and distributed on various platforms.
    My point is this, I believe it is unethical to use these models and their outputs in any form, and especially hypocritical for a channel that is discussing and praising an artist like Kubo. Please do not use them. Obviously, I can't make you do anything, and again it's your choice, all I can do is inform you of the situation with this technology.
    That being said, I could of course be wrong about that image of the child Urahara, or you may not have known. So if that ends up being the case, I do apologise. Again, the video is good as usual and I wish you well.

    I don't think he'd be expelled from Soul Society if he was a noble. He'd be just put under Hausarrest.
    Urahara warned Hisagi that if he were to pry too deep into history he would find thing that would make him question the ways of the soul reapers.
    He is like Kyoraku aware of the wrongs of the worlds but rather decides to keep the status quo while Aizen wanted to destroy the established system.

      Indeed. The most common criticism of him and I'm sure this was pointed out in story if not correct me, is that for Kisuke being such a genius it was all essentially wasted since it only benefiting those in power among the nobility and then Shinigami. In the postwar era, as we saw in the hell chapter, that has changed with TV and information from the human world becoming more accessible to everyone thanks to him. Some can speculate about his origins of nobility or coming from a modest family having ties with the Shioin clan or grew up in a rough district of the Soul Society. He laid back nature with his incredible intelligence is what makes him popular. He created a Kido that will only activate once Aizen is weakened which he hid without Aizen knowing about it. He also played a key role in Bleach like helping Ichigo to regain his Soul Reaper powers on both occasions, transported Karakura Town to the Soul Society, created the Hogyoku which is far superior to Aizen's, helped the Soul Reapers to get back their Bankais from The Quincies and was the key to Aizen's downfall.

It works much better if Tessainwas from the fifth and Urahara was somekind of an Orphan I say this loosely cause I have this backstory in my head and I just need proof if my theory is at least close, I'd like to Imagine Kisuke met Tessai, Yoruichi, and Kukkaku at some point and he did it by breaking into Shihouin clans home as a way to test a theory he had, then the four met each other at first they didn't respect him or at least didn't think too much of him, but overtime they get into whacky adventures and who knows some potential crazy plot which might involve Kukaku's Hand being cut off and Kisuke built this Prosthetic arm for her; admittedly it's only in the anime since cencorship but it's still possible for him to give her one cause it's Kisuke; or Tessai getting a development where he was a guy who looked at him as someone who wasn't all that impressive and in a humble way not in a douchebag manner but became someone who was in awe of his Genius and Yoruichi seeing him as this guy with untapped and unlimited potential which she tries to bring out by putting him into these positions without his consent. Hell it sounds like he could be a main character with the right set up.

Cause it doesn’t make sense to create something of that much power and NOT have Squad Zero get involved. Ichibei Hypsube MOST DEFINITELY knew about it and was probably told by the Soul King what was going on. But when Kisuke was kicked out of the Soul Society those plans were interrupted. Kisuke was more than likely given that order directly from The Reio or Ichibei. And failed to create a perfect Hogyoku.

    Was it ever stated how exactly fullbringers get fragments of the soul king?

    • @Suto_Ko
      @Suto_Ko Рік тому +1

      not explicitly stated, but it is implied that fullbringers obtain their powers through a connection to the remnants of the Soul King's power.

    It would be cool if Orihime were Urahara's secret daughter...hear me out. Urahara and Orihime are very similar in personality in many ways. Remember Urahara has been in the human world for a long while and Orihime's mother was known to be a prostitute. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Urahara unintentionally got Orihime's mother pregnant and the reason for Orihime being treated like trash might be because she is illegitimate. This distant relative aunt who is paying for Orihime's finances could actually be Urahara without Orihime knowing.
    Not convinced? What about Orihime's hair and eye color (reference anime only). Why is Ichigo's hair color bright orange? Because of Ichigo''s mother hair is orange? No. If I remember correctly, her hair color was more brown, in the anime it was similar to Orihime color tho. My point is...could the orange hair represent something else like soul reaper blood?
    I'm just saying...the evidence it there.

    How come he creates the hogyoko yet never guards it well? I think he created it as a trap to coax both ichigo and aizen and for it absorb reishi around it and come back steal it and use it unseal hell or absorb hell. Or something.
    There is not a solution about the soul king. I think the arc isn't done.

      because, Urahara's intentions with the Hogyoku and his actions surrounding it are indeed mysterious. The future of the Soul King and the possibility of an unfinished arc are intriguing possibilities.

    Just like how kubo purposely won’t tell the backstory of aizen, he won’t for urahara also. The mystery fits the story better and urahara may play a big role in the hell arc since he told yurichi if he should turn evil, she should be the one to stop him

      mystery adds depth to characters, and Urahara's potential role in the Hell arc could be significant given his connection to Yoruichi.

    CFYOW confirms that the hogyoku has a fragment of SK in it? Thats...kind of lame to be honest, I liked the idea of it being nothing to do with the SK. I mean everything else is fine to me but I mean not everything in the series needs to be due to the SK imo...
