That's the only problem I have when seeing cubes on FNPF. They never get revisited, when the whole point of a cube is that they are supposed to be revisited.
@@ishaandane3445 you bots are making it easy to ban you all at once! You need to be less conspicuous and more context aware to not be so obvious. Whoever wrote the program, take this as a free lesson.
These were not guys playing to win....these were guys having fun while playing a game that many of us have come to take far too seriously, and that's why I enjoyed this from start to finish!!!
Very nice set-up guys! A delight to watch. Professional recording, good sound quality, the maintaining of life is neat, the card recognition genius and the players are adorable. Good job - Wizard should be jealous! Looking forward to more great coverage from you!
I really like this! You guys are one of the few groups that actually have the capacity to make physical cube drafting enjoyable to watch! You guys should draft more non-mainstream cubes!
Introducing the 3-2-1 draft: It's simple, first pick 3 then 2 then 1 then 1 and you stop at 15. This way you can draft through your whole cube and have a wider variation to pick cards. It's also a lot easier to prepare, you don't even have to count all the piles you make, just make them around 15-21 and give everybody 3-4 piles. Details on the draft system and our Brawl Cube: tappedout.net/mtg-cube-drafts/3-2-1-brawl-cube-around-500/
This was awesome thanks LRR ! I'm just 3 cards off finishing my Pauper Cube myself (of those which can be foiled) - great to see some love for Pauper :) !
28:58 "Eyyy, trombopaline!" Pack signaling doesn't really work if you don't have a regular distribution of card colors in the packs, probably why people were having a hard time reading the signals. For me, creating organized pseudo packs seems well worth the effort, just get Jer to do it next time lol Woah vendetta, never seen that before, I like it. It's almost like a black STP, except the "nonblack" clause kind of kills it, and destroying and not exiling doesn't help either 50:09 Exactly! Straying from your first pick is not only unwise, its also logically impossible and illegal in most countries. The first magic card I ever picked up was a laboratory maniac I found soaking wet and heavily damaged in a puddle. I'm obligated to play it in every deck I ever make now and forever. I don't even really know how one could win a game of magic that isn't by going to draw a card when you have no cards in library 2:06:09 It's pretty cute that that may be one of the meanest things I've heard Serge say lol So, foiling out a set of cards meant to be used on video with the card recognizer may have not been the best idea? It seems to have trouble reading foil cards Maybe its just me, but I enjoy backing up magic games, its somewhat of a challenge and kind of fun. Trains important brain muscles too Great video as always, I like to put the long ones on in the background, even though a system based on playthrough count doesn't reward long videos highly. The pauper cube itself looks really fun too
Dimitri Gaming wow. the Cube is done, fully blinged, I'm expanding it to a 540 for a little more variation in draft. I won't finish that till after Amonket drops.
Maze would have helped when you attack to save your creatures from bad blocks & save it as a blocker following combat … it can effectively be used in an attacking strategy (old school tech!) ;)
When Cam was dropping cards after casting Claustrophobia, the card kept changing to his "Ni" sounds. It was amusing in the moment but sounds beyond stupid in text
1:49:50 I'm trying to understand how this works. How did a -2/-2 instant kill a 4/4? In the stack there is the original 2/2, then the trigger that adds 2/2. Then shouldn't the instant "in response to the trigger" just remove that second 2/2 leaving the card to do 2 damage? How does it block the trigger and then do -2/-2? (I just started playing last week).
I'm late but the way it works is the creature's ability that gives it +2/+2 goes on the stack. Cam's disfigure that gives -2/-2 goes on the stack after the creature's ability. Then the stack resolves top down. Disfigure resolves before the ability that gives +2/+2, resulting in the creature having 0 toughness
Jesus, that Preordain on the wheel...even though the average card in this cube is weaker than most cubes, I have to imagine the one-mana card selection cantrips are still great, right?
quick question if you have a cube and people pick cards for their "packs" should the cube be totally randomly shuffled or sorted? I thought shuffled but I could also imagine having it sorted by color and having to pick one of each color to make it more fair (to make sure every color is equally in the game if you don't play with 8 people.
Sasha B. you just shuffle the whole cube together. I personally sort my cube by color, card type, and then cmc, so I usually shuffle 2 groups of cards together and do that to make 3 piles (usually uw, RB, g&colorless/land) and then end up splitting the piles and keep shuffling them together in different combos. I usually get a few people to help me while I'm shuffling all 360 cards though.
totally randomly shuffled is what I've done, usually cube drafting with 3 or 4 people total and sometimes their is a healthy amount of each color and sometimes not, one of my most resent cube drafts (3 players total) no one wanted to draft red, mono of multicolor, at the end there was just so much red going around and for some reason everyone had just totally made up their mind to not play red that night
Why didn't you provide an actual functional correct link to the correct article directly in the description? No thought that the content would be well hidden 12 months later?
I know this is over a year later, but trample damage will still go through even if all blockers are removed before damage is dealt. Rule 702.19c If an attacking creature with trample is blocked, but there are no creatures blocking it when damage is assigned, all its damage is assigned to the player or planeswalker it’s attacking.
Yeah, the frequency of the most basic ones was kinda ridiculous. "We'd better stop having fun and start playing the game." Well, it's more about actually knowing what the cards do and playing them, which is kind of the basic mechanic of the entire game. It's not like if someone wants you to play the cards correctly as intended they're asking for tournament-level play, it's just common courtesy.
The full art aren't foiled!!!!! WTF jk, im a big fan from québec, my cube is alot more powerfull but all cube are awesome, and this one is really great. More stream of Mtg on AFK would be awesome. I started playing at Theros and I can't stand older cards frames... idk why. Continue making awesome contents, you guys are great! Merci beaucoup ;)
I agree. But I like the white bordered card. Maybe bc I like old things and imo the old splasharts are more... "meaningful" and have a stiry to tell etc. but that again is my opinion.
The “strictly worse” cube would have stuff like Cancel (worse Counterspell), Riot Devils (vanilla 2/3 for 3), Darksteel Relic (an indestructible do-nothing artifact for 0 mana), just uninteresting cards with counterparts that are demonstrably better.
Hymn is labeled as common on gatherer. But i see what you mean. I am not sure Id be ok labeling maze as common for my pauper cube though, but if its debatable, than i wont stop you from putting it in yours
Not every single card given is gonna save a kid's fun time. When I was 11 I was always flooded with shit cards people gave me because I "don't have many cards".
