Thanks for letting us be your "tour guides" across our beloved Southern Idaho. It was an adventure we'll always remember. Come back sometime and we'll show you some more great sites!
A little trivia for you: Today, October 17, would have been Evel's 82nd birthday. I am old enough to have seen Evel's jump over the Snake River on live TV. A lot of hype for the event, but it was fun to watch. Great sites in Idaho. Looking forward to visiting there myself. Thanks for posting this.
What a cool coincidence - didn't know today was his b-day! I was 9 when he did that jump. Remember him and that event like it was yesterday. Take care!
Hi friend. Love the shot at :12. :) We absolutely love the Junior Ranger program. Very cool way to encourage the kiddos to engage. "Refreshing." LOL. Can NOT imagine jumping off that bridge!! Had no idea Evel actually leased that land so he could jump from it. Thank you for taking us along!
@@AmericasParks seven year Alaska resident/infantryman who served there. Living in Utah now. Need any tips, Alaska can be fun now with the yearly forest fires.
Your video randomly popped up as I was scrolling through UA-cam and I was pleasantly surprised to see my home represented! I grew up in Hunt, Idaho where the Minidoka camp is located. My grandparents were farmers out in that dry and rocky landscape. Many of the barracks were turned into homes, barns, and sheds and my grandparents home was apparently the barber shop at one time. I loved growing up in that area being aware of that history that sadly not many people knew about. It’s so cool to see how the park is slowly growing so that we won’t forget this piece of history
Hey Rebekah, that was truly a blessing to read! We really enjoyed southern Idaho and the local family that showed us so much hospitality. Will never forget the kindness of that community!
Awesome, Box Canyon State Park is on my list to see next when I pass by Twin Falls. I was hoping to see oodles of waterfalls sprouting out of rock walls flowing in the Snake River, in the Thousand Springs. Randy is such a joy to watch, it's the radiance he projects that seems he is so thankful to be alive that attracts me.
That really was a full day! There was so much to see, learn and do. It is always nice to have a local friends. acting as a “tour guide”. Thanks for taking us along! Your fun, sincere, and positive outlooks are always evident and appreciated. Take care!
Another great video, Pastor Randy -- Southern Idaho looks amazing! I'm glad you had a chance to visit Minidoka, as my mother and grandparents spent the WWII years imprisoned in similar camps in Utah and California. May the Lord continue to bless and keep you and your wonderful family!
Hello brother, visiting those camps brings back such a sad period in American history. I'm sure you heard many touching stories growing up. I hope we can all still learn from history! God bless!
I grew up in SE Idaho and enjoyed watching your tour. I live in St. George, UT now and would be happy to give you a hot meal and comfortable place to stay on your next trip to Zion or Bryce (and Snow Canyon if you haven’t been there yet). Love the example you provide of being a great father to your kids and a good human. Keep up the good work.
thanks for stopping at the internment camp/ sad history we need to be reminded of/ awesome job sliding down the hill i hope his pants are still intact though hahha. cool you got recognized ...all kinds of great views and interesting stuff in this one thanks for taking us with you
Randy, it is so fun watching your videos, and two Idaho NPS sites that I am interested in visiting. Have driven past Hagerman many times and always stop at Three Island Crossing at Glenns Ferry instead (Oregon Trail), need to set our sites on this fossil museum next time. I also want to see Minidoka National Historic Site, and thanks to you we now plan to visit both on our next trip through Idaho to visit Utah. Nice to see Shane enjoying himself with his own stunt sliding down the hill! That clear water spring is amazing, too. THANK YOU FOR SHARING, . . . Mike
So thankful to Andrew and his family for their great hospitality! We had a really nice time that one day exploring the southern part of the state. Have a super week!
Hey Randy and Shane and Andrews Family....Very interesting and informative video....bet that river plunge wasn't as cold as the Crater Lake jump you took....never knew that the crowd did all that damage after the failed Snake River jump....I see that Shane got his Junior Ranger badge at the Park...All the best from Hank and Pam from South Texas!!!
1st off congratulations on hitting 30K subscribers! It's crazy to think not too long ago when I first met you were around only 700 something and now look you! It's so well deserved because you put so much effort and work into these videos that really shouldn't be a surprise you ended up doing so well. Great video of a lesser known state for myself! This is how you pack a very fun filled day Americas Parks style! Evil knievel jump site was crazy and so was the base jumper. Great video as always Randy 👍.
So kind of you, Eric! Thankful for the opportunity to travel and still enjoy making the videos. It's been nice to meet great people (like you) in the journey. All the best to you and your quality work as well!
What, no Idaho potatoes?! Just kidding! Boy, that water looked cold; give Shane a badge for following in his dads' wet footsteps. The only one of the sites you did in this segment that I too checked out was Minidoka Nat'l Historic Site. It really was eerie seeing the camp & pondering what it represented. The distant mountains must have been a beckoning sight for the the internees. The past couple of days I have been taking in the autumn colors at Hickory Run State Park & in the Water Gap NRA on the Pa side - one of the best showing in years. Look forward to City of Rocks. Stay well.
Hello America's Park's😊😊! I have watched your video of Craters of the Moon and what an awesome landscape. I watched the footage while I was in Machinaw City,MI. More on that later😊. Great video of Minidoka National Monument in Twin Falls, ID. My brother and I drove through the area after hiking Delicate Arch in Moab and by the time we approached Twin Falls it was dark and our goal was to get to Boise, which we did and arrived in Boise at midnight as we were headed to Seattle. Oh, I forgot to mention that this was a cross country round trip road trip back in 2009. Now the Michigan trip: We had a great time but we had to first figure out the travel restrictions due to New York, NJ, and CT placing a restriction on RI, which meant that I wouldn't be able to overnight in upstate NY, but I was able instead to overnight in Mercer, PA( western PA near the Ohio line ) as there was no restrictions there. The next day we drove all the way to Mackinac City and got hammered with heavy rain the next day. I ended up extending my stay and it worked out beautifully as we did Sleeping Bear Dunes all day and a full day of hiking in Pictured Rocks. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL fall foliage and very crisp air just as you mentioned while I was planning the trip. My son alex loved all of the waterfalls! And, we are going to do it again next year as my brother wants to check out Northern Michigan, but this time the road trip extends all the way to Glacier National Park to hike the high line trail! Randy, great video! Looking forward to the next one.
Wow, Al! What an incredible adventure. Nice to hear you guys, despite the difficulties, are getting our during covid! Happy to hear you enjoyed MI and are already looking forward to next summer!
Pretty amazing about forgotten history (that should be remembered) your travels reveal...didn't know about those places in Idaho! Thank you for your continuing travel adventures!
Thanks, brother! Nice to hear from guys my age on this one - that was a huge event for us kids! Cool to see the site in person. Hope you and the family have a blessed week!
Well I have learned something new and that makes for a good day! I was completely unaware that the jump site was open. I must add it to the list. Thanks as always for sharing these great adventures. God bless.
Interesting video. My bestie is from northern ID (Coeur D’Alene) but I have never been south of Boise. All I remember about Evel Knevel is my brother had the motorcycle toy that you had to handcrank to make it go. Safe travels!
Very cool to see some of Idaho’s little known gems! That spring was amazing and “good on you” to Shane for getting in that water. My cousin does crazy stuff like that jumping - he has actually made a living out of designing & building wingsuits, parachutes & has been in movies. He said he’d take me. I declined 😂 I liked what your friend said at the internment camp about how easy it is for people to get in a panic about something without all of the facts - we visited a Manzanar - a very interesting place. And, now I want to go to Idaho!
Same here! Have done some crazy stuff, but no desire to jump off bridges! Idaho is a cool state - and so different up north. Be sure to check out the sawtooth area! That's on my list too!
