4-13 Layering in perfume and the PWx Factor

A session from a workshop in The Art and Technology of Perfumery held in Bangkok 2012.
A description of the layering technique in perfumery, a technique similar to that used by artists when layering colours in a painting. Not to be confused with spraying 2 or more perfumes on the skin.
The is the method by which the PWx Factor works. Almost odourless itself just 1% added to a compound increases its depth, odour life, and is preferred by 90+% when compared to the same fragrance without the PWx Factor.

Is layering an offensive action in the perfume world? As in to the the perfumer?
