- Muu Shuwuu (Level 41) + Pixie = Ame-no-Uzume (Carry over Boon Boost)
- Kelpie (Level 33) + Zhen = Parvati (Carry over Resist Elec)
- Hua Po + Parvati + Ame-no-Uzume = Idun (Boon Boost, Resist Elec & one other skill, best one likely being Bowl of Hygeia)
- Muu Shuwuu can be fused by using Angel + Aitvaras, among other ways.
- Kelpie can be found near the Konan 2nd Block leyline, Zhen near the Kamiyacho leyline.
- Hua Po can be found near the area you receive Idun's quest.
- If you found the Anahita/Thoth/Makami/Forneus Essence, you can use it to teach Idun Mana Spring, increasing her MP.
- You can also use a Healing Sutra to increase Idun's Healing Skill Potential, which reduces the cost of Golden Apple down to 107.
You can quickly level up Demons using Grimoires: items that level up a demon instantly if they are a lower level than Nahobino. They are dropped by Mitamas and can sometimes be found on the map. Otherwise, levelling may have to be done the old fashioned way: grinding. If you don't feel like levelling a certain demon, ignore it, you can likely get the skills later on with Essences.

@@legionglory3154 with how easy it is to bounce skills to demons through essences though the only real down side to passing a late game skill to a mid tier demon is the resistances and base stats. If you want the unique skill and level her up and are happy with her resistances (cuz stats can be maxed with incenses) no reason not to

I think it works because Golden Apple isn't a unique buff, its just the three standard buffs in one ability. see 0:34

Please make more videos like this!! I’m a noob and feel like I’m screwing up by fusing everything I feel like all my demons suck and just have their basic generic skills. Fusing is kind of confusing because some options that I have are fusion physical attackers into supports or healers so none of the skills are even useful to carry over. The more I fuse the more I feel this way and makes me feel like I’m doing it wrong or missing something here. Keep it up I dropped a sub

I was already wanting Idun on my team just for her design, but now you’re telling me she’s one of the best support demons in the game?
Yes, she's really good mid game until you start getting Luster Candy.
I'm level 73 or so, late game, still running Idun.
I use her and Cleopatra. I set up Idun to overheal plus buff, and throw Cleopatra's luster candy on the same turn.
she is still usable late game, but her stats aren't as good as the late game demons. If you build her later, you get access to better skills and the level up bonuses from late game miracles to make her more usable, but you can make better buffers and healers by then. Her vitality is pretty low, but I dont remember seeing too many piercing skills late game so you could do a max investment null everything build if you hate free time/bought the money and exp dlc
idun is not best support trust their is a another demon more better than her with same unique ability with a different name and better stats. not gonna mention it since its spoiler teritory.

I'm now in the mid to late game and I still use Idun. Golden Apple is just too good to get rid of.

@@whysoserious4464 you can actually blitz through the game incredibly fast on NG+ but i was trying to fully complete it my first time around. i spent around 100 hours on the save file and thats because i took my time. level is less important that the type match up. just think of each boss as a puzzle, change your team around if you hit a wall and you should be able to get through fine. and much faster than i did. simply progressing in the game levels you up faster than trying to grind. i bet you could beat the game pretty easily in 60-80 hours if you dont care about all the side content.

I rounded out her kit with mana drain so she has something to do on the average attack turn. She can drain about 50 mp in a turn. with magatsuhi gauge maxed and giving regen, she can cast Bowl, Apple, Drain, Drain, Bowl, Apple, Drain, Drain, rinse repeat and always be topping off the team and keeping your buffs climbing. Fantastic way to round it out. I also slapped heal pleroma on and she's still full healing my team at level 53. Fantastic demon, easilly my favorite in the game so far.
Have her leveled to 68 rn. Going to try to take her to endgame
What demon has Mana Drain?
@@crossy44 I can't remember which one had mana drain, BUT there's a spoiler demon who you can get their essence from a quest by backtracking to the second map (I think in the top right corner?) and that has a 15mp cost drain weak Life AND MP. I just changed that up. It's a little less effective for MP regen because it costs 10 more mana, but the HP drain keeps her topped off and deals some steady almighty damage too =D

If you have the extra mitamas DLC, it's worth quick leveling your 3 ingredient demons a few times, ot will really buff Idun's stats, making her last even longer
Tbh there's no reason not to have the DLC. The grind is insane in this game

You can get demon proficiency 3 in the next zone after beating lahmufor another demon skill slot, I did that first to get healing pleroma on her just for the heck of it.

shes been carrying me hard dude i love her. i have this build with her except i use spirit drain instead of zanma and ive used a bunch of incense on her to increase her healing, mana and health
Had an extra slot so I decided to go with Light Mana Aid to help with the high MP cost of Golden Apple.
Also another note of this, late game if you still want to Edun please refuse her, so she get the stat boost from Warrior's Conception.
I stopped leveling her up in the 4th area, do you have any tips to use her in end game?

I would suggest getting weak almighty spirit well to balance the high mana usage from her golden apple
I just went the no dmg route. As long as I have mp I don't get dmg on anyone on my team.
I still need huge dmg dealers to finish the fights fast so the MP doesn't run out.
I'd like to see a refusion of this later on in the late game, what would you put on her..
I kept her late game like a straight black mage but there were so many other op demons she faded I even had her magic 117

I thought about carrying over Boon Boost as well but the skill description specifically says that it extends "-aja and -nda" for an extra turn. I believe it doesn't work with Idun's unique golden apple skill, did you tests if the buffs actually stay for four turns?

They do, basically debuff/buff part of any skill is always affected by boon boost

I also gave my Idun Bowl of Hygieia and Spirit Drain, giving all the party extra HP above maximum is amazing and between turns I just spam Spirit Drain to get the large amount of MP needed for more Golden Apples, been working very well!

You straight up never need to replace her just use sutras to max her healing and offense magic grimoires too keep up her level and use essenses to keep her skills up to date. I highly recommend using the amanozako essense on her the skills it gives will keep her useful all game long
tbh, you don't need to replace any demon if you're feeding them a bunch of sutras, grimoires, and essences.

Shiva's skill is busted and I used Yoshitsune all the way through the end Hassou Tobi is still fantastic.
For Yoshitsune I put critical zealot, high restore, drain/repel dark and light to prevent insta kills, high phys pleroma and regular phys pleroma (honestly don't know if they stack) and impaler's Animus to both charge and add piercing to Hassou Tobi.
Always had Idun in my team till the last boss. She’s busted
I used Idun for rest of the game as heal/buff. I think she was lvl. 84 at end of the game. Spammed with her golden apple and donum skills.
Im actually curious if concentrate and charge is weaker than the donum skills. Its a higher cost and description makes it sound usable on an ally, but i hope it doesnt cost more just to use on ally since its cost is ridiculously high compared to the other two
Some people have been testing, the Donum skills have a weaker effect than Charge/Concentrate: gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/204211-shin-megami-tensei-v/79761442?page=2 . Charge/Concentrate themselves only give a 1.8x multiplier this time, so they're not that worth using aside from saving MP.
@@bainz i just unlocked the skills and used them with yoshi and hassou tobi. Regular was around 100(99-108), donum was around 155ish (152-162) and charge was 190ish (184-195). Since hassou is now all criticals, the donum is weakened to balancd hassou out since imagine it being double and castable on ally. 2 full powered hassou would almost one turn a lot of bosses i bet. Though the cost needs to be reduced due to how useless it is. It should be 16ish imo (double the cost of charge/concentrate but can also be casted on ally) so yea, its kinda useless unless the skill cost is like iduns golden apple where its 126ish

I've gone for Physical build so far, some of the Nahobino exclusive Str moves are really good. But I think either one works well
Guys.. im so confused about stats cap
I assumed everything will cap at 99 so I was distributing my protagonist stats evenly between strength, ability and some luck
But now at the later half of the game, one demon I have got their magic points above 99... so what is it?
@@yousei0370 in smt4 it capped at 999, but it's impossible to get that without using a shit ton of stat increases, don't worry too much about reaching the cap though because it's pretty arbitrary
i went for a magic build since no demons resist almighty. making the end of the game a cake walk.
Physical seems to be much easier than magic. I started out magic and vitality then switched to physical mid game

I read a lot about Idun being a superior supporter, I am rdy to fuse her in 2 lvls.
Though, since "Golden Apple" costs so much MP, I cant really see how this is useful. You can use it 2 times in a battle, boss fights often last way longer than 8 rounds tho (Especially on hard difficulty).
If you want rank 2 boosts you'd be depleted in the 2. or 3. turn
There are a couple ways to get around the MP Cost, like giving Idun Mana Spring or Spirit Drain, and increasing Idun's healing potential to +5, making Golden Apple cost 107 MP. Bowl of Hygeia makes you have to heal less often (because each party member has more HP) and Boon Boost increases the effects by 1 turn. Even if you can't use it the entire fight, casting it right before a Critical Turn can really boost your damage. Then maybe swap her out until the next critical turn. Often I would get 1 layer of boosts from Golden Apple and Matarukaja from another demon. She won't auto win every fight, but a Luster Candy effect at Level 42 is still really good
This is why using it until the very late game feels pointless to me, you may as well just roll with matarukaja. Maybe on hard the defense buff is beneficial, but you're basically using a healing character that then has no MP to heal. When I fused her I basically used her to spam golden apple twice and then subbed in another healer with full MP, because taking half turns to do that is far better than spending whole turns and wasting mana restore items. And energy drain is subpar in this game compared to the days of Daisojou getting free refills all fight long.

So far I have not seen sutras to increase healing potential
@@crtnn Sutras come from Navigator Demons, they're a very random drop. But if you find a Healing Sutra, it can be used to decrease Healing skill costs
@@bainz I actually got a healing sutra now for collecting 85 Miman.
I fused her with a good amount of stat boost, gave her all my stamina incences (Probably gonna use her for a good while, so hopefully I wont regret this :D) and gave her mana spring (Hopefully soon to be replaced by greater mana spring). Right now she has like 380MP, I also gave her spirit drain.
So in a typical boss fight, with using spirit drain (Especially on the critical turn) and regen from magatsuhi gauge, she is able to cast bowl+apple like 4-5 times. So far that has been enough and it really is very strong. I am happy with this.
Its a bit of a change compared to my old support, as she is played quite differently.
essences are so easy to get in this game that it might be easier to just use later game demon essences to fill in the gaps(you can take mid game demons to end game with easy on normal at least. I'm going to do a hard run to see how that goes, but she was my main healer till a spoiler character took her place. You lose that character later so I was stuck with an underleveled idun for the last boss lol).
You forgot that essence fusion can transfer some moves easily though it would be hard if you don't have said essence, but yeah

Golden Apple is a buffing skill, it's basically Tarukaja, Rakukaja, Sukukaja in one, so it is affected by Boon Boost

I beat Shiva using only the DLC characters (Idun, Artemis, Cleo). They can be good for late game, but you're gonna need to spend a lot of incenses to make them strong, which aren't that hard to find.
Idun isn't a DLC character though...

No, only the Demon with the passive themselves
I replaced her with a spoiler character and I had never regretted anything in a game more. She somehow managed to do everything worse. I don't know how that's even possible.
Also plot elements made the end game REAL FUN when I had stopped leveling up Idun, and had NO other support character.
Idun is too frail shes really only good for the mid game section

You can give her Mana Spring from Essences to get her to around 280 MP, so she can cast 2 Bowl of Hygeia + Golden Apple in a boss fight. With Boon Boost, that should last the majority of a fight. The reason it costs so much MP is bc it's an endgame level skill on a Level 40 Demon
Would maxing sutras be good or is it not enough to make a difference?
@@crono276 Idun starts at +4 potential, so using 1 Sutra for +5 is worth it imo. MP cost of Golden Apple goes from 126 to 107. Healing/support potential caps at +5

I honestly never saw much use to the whole Idun / Golden Apple build. Most of the time the heal was redundant compared to just using Luster Candy, which is available freely on far better demons later. You're never really gonna use it / be able to sustain the MP until later in the game, by which time you get a demon who does basically the same thing with Light of Order. All you really need matarukaja at the early mid game anyway.
It's pretty useful with the skill that lets you overcap healing.
I've been using it most of the way through mid game going into late and haven't had problems managing my mana.
How am I seeing some people have demons with over 100 stats? How exaclty do you do that?
Demon stats can naturally go over 100, including Nahobino's. I don't know what the limit is for stats in the game actually

I'm still only midway through the game so I don't know if there's good ways to min max/farm items. The max level I believe is still 99, but stats can go up to 999
If you want to focus on a healer, I'd advise to wait until the fourth map. You get for free a demon with a skill upgraded from Idun. It's the same, but also has the effect to nullify your party's debuff.
Yeah, Idun will be eventually be replaced, I just wanted to put this out for people who get to this stage of the game and want a good healer

Idun stayed on my team for the entirety of the playthrough as soon as she became available. Golden Apple is that good.

The main downside to Golden Apple is the MP cost, at +5 to healing, it still cost over 100 mp per cast.
Yeah, but it's still worth it. You can mitigate the cost with Boon Boost (cast it less often), Bowl of Hygeia (less need to heal) and Mana Spring for more MP
@@bainz bowl is pointless, the use of it in the video doesnt increase the healing very much compared to mine with out it, maybe only 20-30 HP(could be based on Mag stat difference as well). Mana spring does help tho along with boon boost. And dont get me wrong, its a great skill,
Main purpose of Bowl of Hygeia is to allow overhealing up to 30% past max HP. In the video, it increased Nahobino's HP from 242 to 314. Higher HP on all your party members means less need to heal on later turns

@@jeffreylane2431two turns or not Bowl is quite valuable since the skill doping has been removed from SMT V which very useful in clutching out high difficulty bosses with health extensuon. Apple isn't not much more expensive than the strongest buff skill in the game either while having way more functions making fights faster and safer. In fact it's cheaper than luster + mediarama combined in two turns so it's actually economical end game.
Overall Idunn is a very strong/high candidate for end game support. I've seen a lot of people discuss her builds and them using her against demi-fiend.
Still, Golden Apples are too expensive at that point and can't last more then twice per battle (without healing it is), so I still had to ditch Idun after awhile
those skills are still extremely useful later on though, just don't expect Idun to carry you until end game
Idun actually shines in late game because 100MP for a skill becomes a lot less of a big deal. With Great Mana Spring I had like 800MP on her for my NG+ Hard run
Why you think the skill Zanma is part of the "Best Build" for her is beyond me.
idun is not best support since their is another one in the game who is basically a free demon that has the same unique ability as idun but better stats at the late game. not gonna mention who cause spoilers.
i agree, but because of a certain event if you replace idun with it, you'll be screwed in the final fight and be forced to go back and level her up. thats what i had to do.

You can find them in Chiyoda, or use Reverse Compendium Fusion to get her
I must say that Tao Isonokami has better skill. And also with pumping it has no weaknesses. However, in the late game, the healer must survive well to be useful. Therefore, we need resistance to literally everything. First of all, to physical attacks, because they become quite powerful and are used often. Unfortunately, Tao cannot be recreated. Therefore, my choice of Vishu with the usual Mediarahan, heals as many times as necessary, lives much longer, can have resistance to everything.
She is a great midgame or third area demon. Until you get Tao. she can replace her and use the same skills + Dekunda with her move.
Spoilers.
Also Tao is not easily accessible on ng+ cycles until the you reach a certain part of the story. Her progress doesn't transfer over despite being able to be registered either making her a hassle to invest in.
She's also not available to use at certain parts after you get her too. So yeah she's not going to replace Idunn even if Light of Order has a better effect. She's a good back up healer or emergency healer when things goes south though.

@@SolBadguy777 Strange, I explore with Tao and I have no issue, until the last boss. Even I fought Demi Fiend with her.
@@carlosmeza4524 yeah its not that she doesn't have issues or that it's strange. It's just she won't replace Idunn. Idunns progress can carry over except Tao for NG+ runs and harder difficulties. Tao on the other hand has to start from scratch every run.
Taos still good but she's not gonna replace Idunn in ng+ runs over all because Idunn can easily become a stat monster with 100+ in all stats which just isn't worth the time/effort on Tao. There's a reason a lot more people are discussing ng+ Idunn builds since Tao just isn't really worth any long term investment. She's also not present for the majority of the game for it either.
Rather it's a good idea to have both of them readily available.

Boon Boost upgrades -kaja/-nda skills, and since you have none in your build this skill is also obsolete
Boon Boost affects any skill that grants buffs or debuffs, and that includes Golden Apple.
Maybe try playing the game before commenting false info

You can just test it ingame. It causes all buff/de-buff skills to last one more turn. When it says "-kaja/-nda" moves, it simply means any buff/de-buff move. You think the skill also wouldn't work on Luster Candy and Debilitate because of their name? Test something before you say false info or call people names
Not a great build. Golden Apple is 126mp, and it makes that skill pretty useless. She needs a Media (or Mediarama) to be a useful char.
