I'm a european who don't know who Wishbone is, don't understand the concept of "scholastic fair", don't own a dog, don't sew and yet I enjoyed this video a whole lot. Your editing style and humour is what makes your videos so great, the little sketches, the memes, everything. I could watch you talk about anything because I know you'd make it entertaining! I watched you paint a wall after all, litterally had fun watching paint dry! ;) I know you won't see this but I wish you know how many of us enjoy your content, and don't find this less creative or fun to watch than any of your other projects. You're an amazing content creator whose content makes me so very happy and warm inside, and I'm sure I speak for many of us.
I was in college during Wishbone's run on TV and you'd better believe I watched it every day. When I became a teacher much, much later in life, I showed a couple of the Wishbone episodes to my freshmen to accompany whatever we were reading. They loved it and so did I because you're never too old sniff out adventure!
I feel like you might appreciate this story: when I was in grad school, a friend of mine was teaching an undergrad course on Renaissance history. One of the big important texts everyone reads in a Renaissance history college class is The Prince by Machiavelli, and my friend wanted to assign it. So he went through various publishers' catalogues (not as fun as Scholastic book pamphlets) and ordered the cheapest edition he could find. When it arrived, he figured out that he'd ordered... the Wishbone edition of the Prince, produced for grade-school kids. The downfall of not knowing who Wishbone is! :)
Oh my god! I love that!! 🤣🤣 And also I've seen several videos about Machiavelli and his books and would *absolutely* finally read Prince myself if I had the Wishbone version!! Seriously though, reading new and familiar kids books as an adult is ridiculously fun and fills me with joy, new and remembered! I found my book Bunnicula (exactly what you think: vampire bunny rabbit), and the warm feelings I got lasted *a week,* I stg. Highly recommend reading kids stuff for fun - both old and new-to-you! 😁

Ok but when she started talking about Scholastic book fairs I got a major case of whiplash from the way my memories were slapped right back into my own 6 y/o Thea Stilton-obsessed body, thank you for bringing those back. XD
Oh honey, wear whatever you want! I wear corsets and a gigantic black hat full of hat pins and 50s styled swing dresses. Anyone gives you shit for what you're wearing, STAB THEM IN DE EYE!
Never had book fair money either. Presents were at Christmas and Birthdays and the ever so very occasional and rare souvenir. Not enough money to go around five kids and we knew it. At least we didn’t grow into untitled selfish adults who have to have all the things.
Legit had ALL the books..My personal favorite was "The Hound of the Baskervilles". as well as "The Hunchdog of Notre Dame" and "A Dog in King Arthur's Court".....
I’m that person who ended up a reference librarian partly because of Wishbone (just like Joe’s mom in the show), and I actually squealed when I saw the title of this video! And when I thought it couldn’t get any better, there was the Bespoke Canine Tailor interview. Thanks to Frodo for being such a good sport. He’s so dashing!
As an almost “32 year old lady”, I’d happily walk into a scholastic book fair RIGHT NOW and spend my adult-made money on everything I want/ed, and nothing less 😌💅🏽
What’s the story (Wishbone)? Do you think it’s worth a look? Kinda feels familiar, like a story from a book...? The fact that I’m almost 34 and remember that surprises even me.
Having a calm client is so helpful! I made some fleece sweaters for my dog when she was younger and she would just lay down and roll on her side when I was trying to measure and pin things together on her. Lots of wrestling and lifting to get her to stand still. Lol!
I once made my siberian husky a granny costume for Halloween. Could not get her to cooperate for more than a minute at a time. She got lots of treats and a costume with more of look that wolf had dressed herself. 😆
I was JUST talking about this with my friend! I couldn't remember the name of the show, but I LOVED the Odyssey episode. I watched that when I was 6(?) and it has lived in my head rent free ever since then.
You described the book fair, aka the best time of year, waaaay too perfectly!! What a flashback!! Did you partake in Book-It as well? You'd get a tiny Pizza Hut pizza for reading a certain amount of books. Odd to think food bribery is why I love books. 🤗📚📖
Ordered me some dominos after a long stressful workday. Sit down on my bed and cover myself with like 5 heavy blankets to crush the sadness straight from my body. Pop on the ye ol tube for some good watching while I eat my souls worth of pizza and LO AND BEHOLD!!! The glorious notification that you have published another video appears. BUT WAIT!!! Its a video with Frodo!!! I shall enjoy this immensely whilst I devour my pie. :3 (sorry, I'm in a weird mood today. Lol)
Oh my gosh, Wishbone! Haven't seen that show in years--I wasn't even a kid when it first aired; I was in my 30s, lol. Still watched it all the time though because, literature! I regret nothing.
There was so much preciousness in this video I actually started shedding tears. I didn't even know wishbone existed, but put a cute dog in a little vest and hat and suddenly I'm literally crying over the adorableness.
That description of the scholastic book fair was so accurate I think I almost transported back in time 😩 And I LOVED Wishbone! My fave episode was when he was Rip Van Winkle. I vividly remember him popping up out of that pile of leaves with his long gray beard on. Ugh, the nostalgia 🥺
Frodo is so cute in his little costume! Love the Wishbone inspiration. I used to watch that show even though I was a couple years older than the target age group. We were too poor for cable tv, so when I got home from school the programming options were whatever was on PBS, soap operas, telenovellas, and 100 channels of static.
frodo is soooooo stinkin' cute!!!!😭💗💗💗💗💗 i'm a fairly newer subscriber going through your video on a daily binge and i really want you to know that you're my comfort youtuber, rachel! definitely going to be sticking around for long!🥰

Never had book fair money either. Presents were at Christmas and Birthdays and the ever so very occasional and rare souvenir. Not enough money to go around five kids and we knew it. At least we didn’t grow into untitled selfish adults who have to have all the things.
I remember being so excited for them, and never getting to buy anything, they should give children a free item, so everyone feels included.
Currently sick and on a Rachel marathon
OH MY GOSH the part with the "big brain" and gromets was hilarious!!!
Girl. Home run on this video. 😘 You knocked it out of the park. I'm dyin' at the censored ref.🤣
hehehehee thank you!!!
I feel like Frodo was an actor of theater in his past life and specifically dramatic roles were his virtue. 👏🏻👌🏻😍😍😍😍💜😂😎😭
rIGHT lol
Ok I think I need an episode on making a mannequin/dress form of your dog so you can make more costumes.
i was thinking how helpful having one of those would be during this LOL
the 'parkour' and 'pivot' sections really got me. Excellent meme usage as always
Is anyone else getting really anxious without a fresh dose of cozy fun?
Legit had ALL the books..My personal favorite was "The Hound of the Baskervilles". as well as "The Hunchdog of Notre Dame" and "A Dog in King Arthur's Court".....
he had such RANGE lol
@@rachelmaksy638 truly one of the best books to tv series, and actors of the 90’s paws down!
That Inside The Actor's Studio bit was hysterical 😄
I’m that person who ended up a reference librarian partly because of Wishbone (just like Joe’s mom in the show), and I actually squealed when I saw the title of this video! And when I thought it couldn’t get any better, there was the Bespoke Canine Tailor interview. Thanks to Frodo for being such a good sport. He’s so dashing!
hehehee AW!
Rachel is my comfort youtuber lol I can turn on any video on her channel and instantly feel better.
Grommeting for Big Brain, made my spouse and I laugh, probably more than it should. Thank you so much.
As an almost “32 year old lady”, I’d happily walk into a scholastic book fair RIGHT NOW and spend my adult-made money on everything I want/ed, and nothing less 😌💅🏽
Just blow the lot on Horrible Histories books
Hair8Metal8Karen but I also want each eraser, which I would never use. Kid me made it a point to use them even though they were terrible
Love the Jenna reference
Next project: doggy dress form! Then His Glorious Floofness can have much delightful couture and none of the bother!
Yes! That would be awesome
Wishbone: The One True First Fandom for 90s kids everywhere ✨✨✨✨✨
hahaha YESSS he did it all 👏👏👏
I still watch it when I wanna relax
What’s the story (Wishbone)? Do you think it’s worth a look? Kinda feels familiar, like a story from a book...?
The fact that I’m almost 34 and remember that surprises even me.
Hey, I was born 1980, and I LOVED Wishbone. Wishbone was 80’s kids new Reading Rainbow!🤣🥰 I kind miss both.
"Rachel Maksy: An Unexpected Journey (to the fabric stash)"
a THRILLING ADVENTURE
I was JUST talking about this with my friend! I couldn't remember the name of the show, but I LOVED the Odyssey episode. I watched that when I was 6(?) and it has lived in my head rent free ever since then.
No lie, I read Pride and Prejudice for the first time because of Wishbone.
When Frodo sighs as if this is the biggest inconvience in the world 🥺 🥺🥺 little baby
the DRAMA lol
Every video you post exudes the energy of hanging out with a friend. And I love that. Friend vibes all the time.
Lol)
Weird moods are allowed. Sharing pizza is better though! May you have a most excellent weekend!
Ye ol' soliloquy bod well with me...well met ye fellow isolationer!😁🍻
😊😊😊😊😊
Oh my gosh, Wishbone! Haven't seen that show in years--I wasn't even a kid when it first aired; I was in my 30s, lol. Still watched it all the time though because, literature! I regret nothing.
There was so much preciousness in this video I actually started shedding tears.
I didn't even know wishbone existed, but put a cute dog in a little vest and hat and suddenly I'm literally crying over the adorableness.
Heheheeheheeee
That description of the scholastic book fair was so accurate I think I almost transported back in time 😩 And I LOVED Wishbone! My fave episode was when he was Rip Van Winkle. I vividly remember him popping up out of that pile of leaves with his long gray beard on. Ugh, the nostalgia 🥺
Human's chewing sounds: ew
Animal's chewing sounds: cutest thing in the world ❤️
A 1000 times yes.
“Chef’s kiss for your nose...*snuff*” 🤣🤣🤣 hilarious. Frodo-bone just stole every 90’s baby heart
Heheheehe
He looks so handsome all dressed up!
I can't remember the last time I laughed this much, Frodo is adorable and has fantastic comedic timing.
😊😊😊😊😊😊
Frodo is so cute in his little costume! Love the Wishbone inspiration. I used to watch that show even though I was a couple years older than the target age group. We were too poor for cable tv, so when I got home from school the programming options were whatever was on PBS, soap operas, telenovellas, and 100 channels of static.
frodo is soooooo stinkin' cute!!!!😭💗💗💗💗💗 i'm a fairly newer subscriber going through your video on a daily binge and i really want you to know that you're my comfort youtuber, rachel! definitely going to be sticking around for long!🥰
The amount of dog in this video was all I needed, seeing him in this ADORABLE costume?! Was more than I deserved ! ♥
Also, your whole trip to the thrift shop and back - way to relatable XD
I am sure Binx spent the entire time silently laughing at Frodo.
Next up...Binx as...Binx in human binxs clothes.
The Spider-Man lamp cameos are my new favorite thing
my sister and i were literally just talking about how much we used to lovee wishbone. this brings so much nostalgia omg
The trailer scene had me in tears!!!! What a joy to watch.
