I got mine last week and definitely noticed that it really needs more lower body weight and it shows in your video also.. they just bounce about on everything.. I didnt order the wheel weights but I am thinking about getting a set or making something similar, and putting some lead weight in the bottom of the body maybe make some to suit the size of the rub rails and join them onto those. I wish the RTR came in white instead of that poxy yellow/cream colour, I would have bought it instead of the red one that I have now as my real car is an 80 series LandCruser but in white.
So basically instead of the RES V3 you are running the 1080 and remote of your choice? Are there special connections that need to be fitted as well? I want a similar build
Yes but I wouldn't hesitate to run a res V3. The servo and hobbywing 1080 esc will plug into your receiver of choice and you just need to choose if you want to direct solder your motor to the esc or solder a connector for easy disconnect.
Depending on your electronics it can vary. But usually just run these on 800mah to 1500mah 2s lipos. 3s 1000mah on some 3s capable setups but even those rigs I run 2s mostly.
@@RunThatRC ya I recommend some type of scx24 1.2 beadlocks with a adapter for the wpl axel 5mm to 7.5mm I think. I think those tires will perform really good on the terrain crawl🤘
There are tons of upgrades for both and you can make either perform pretty good. Quality out the box definitely goes to the FCX18(and you definitely pay for it). The bodies are both pretty nice. The WPL is a bigger scale bigger tires so it should be able to take a little more of the bigger terrain. The WPL is a simple but fun truck and I like both for different purposes. The FMS LC80 is a really nice 18th scale thats for sure!
Its really close to the low gear on the 2 speed slightly faster. It definitely can't be used for a trail hike it's too slow unless you run 3s maybe. I haven't tried 3s yet.
I would call it a camp site trail truck. Some decent slow speed control for some mild stuff and just messin about. It's a setup I can definitely be ok driving around my trails.
It requires some modification and you can get a pinion that fits on the shaft and then the bolts that are going through the transmission to the motor are gonna need spacers. Depart where the servo tray is on the Wpl is gonna need to be cut out about half of an inch to clear the back of the motor and wires.
Awesome video brother 👍 two sweet looking rigs right there!
The RTR is so close in performance it's impressive.

this thing gets better with surprisingly not so much mods.
@@RunThatRC Hi, may share what were your mods other than 370 motor? Thanks😊
I just wrapped solder around the wheels under the tires. Perfectly weighted it and dirt cheap.

Random question here what is your best battery upgrade to use in the B16 my dude??

I just the stock RTR version of the b16. Is a 2000mah too much?
@@billapogues9360 might not fit in the stock location. Never ran bigger than 1500mah 2s on my b16.
@@RunThatRC the 3s is cabable on the v3 esc i belive yea it would be fun to try that on my b36 and maybe beefing the motor wire up a bit more too
Dude u gotta try the rc4wd 1.2 rock crushers a little stiff but super sticky
They fit stock wheels or do I need some sort of beadlocks?

@@RunThatRC forget to mention u can glue those tires to stock c24 wheels!
Nice! Thanks for the info
did you change the micro chip/pcb when u use 370 ?
yes I installed a 1080 esc and my own tx/rx.
Can this c54-1 can compare head to head with fms lc80 in terms of build quality and upgrades?

Hey mate where did you get the 2 stage gearbox from?
This is the new C54-1 RTR stock gearbox. Its pretty good with a good esc and the wpl 370 motor installed.
what suspension do u use? is it off of another model?
its WPLs newest RTR. ua-cam.com/video/TJu1SDNJo14/v-deo.html
How's the gear ratio of the stock vs the 2 speed?
Its really close to the low gear on the 2 speed slightly faster. It definitely can't be used for a trail hike it's too slow unless you run 3s maybe. I haven't tried 3s yet.
Is the 370 motor upgrade plug and play
@@RunThatRC Interesting.... So, WDYT type of run/scenario this stock box perfect for?
@@laurencorbett5175 -based on his answer to mine.-... its bolt on plus extra work adjusting the pinion.

You need to scrap that motor and put a 380 traxxas motor. Thos 370 are boo boo couldnt handle a 2200mah 45 c batter at all.
I run 3s 2200mah 60c lipos on my B36KM all the time with the 370 motor without issues so far.
Is the traxxas 380 a direct bolt on? Or does it take modifications?
