Initial D Opening Scene Assetto CGI Comparison

My attempt at recreating the first stage Initial D cgi look in assetto corsa using ‪@retr0splace‬ 's first stage accurate 86 mod:

hahaha well you'd be right! I didn't use blender or anything, but that whole drift is made up of 4 different takes... trust me I tried to get it in one drift but it was a little hard to slide that long before the corner and then grip around the bend all while staying at the same distance from the line.

Left one is asseto since it lights are brighter and don’t have blur to them
And it has bright green grass plus the minor details like the fog lights being just cubes and lack of gutters
Took me a second to figure out tho damn

A mix of camtool 2 and drone cam. Most of it is drone cam, but I used camtool 2 for the more complex shots like the drift shots and the shot after he knocks over the can

Some changes to the pure and game settings and those mods. The running in the 90s mod mostly shows you how

Those mods are essentially most of it, I just went further with changing the assetto corsa display/video settings. Got the camera angles with drone cam and cam tool 2, recorded those with obs and then threw those clips into davinci resolve to add the camera shake and the lense flare lines etc.

It's mostly to do with the lighting, but I did very slightly darken them.

​@assettocorsauser what I did doesn't make them black under normal lighting conditions... (I didn't have any light sources or shadows enabled (which im gonna fix hopefully soon))
All I did was go into the car model viewer on content manager and click on one of the rims. Then where it says "Material: watbx" I clicked on the 3 dots on the right of that, clicked "change values" and then changed "ksAmbient" to 0.03 or something...
But I really don't think I even needed to do that. Id say it was mostly the lighting, or lack there of haha.

Can't say I've looked, but as far as I know, this is the only car mod. The running in the 90s mod has a few tracks though

did you experience any weird behavior on retros ae86 like its being pushed down by gravity which causes the car to break apart? downloaded this car mod but dunno what causes that issue to mine and only happens when i use his ae86 mod

You have to add a button to the extra options buttons in the csp controls I think
