You guys saved my son and I, lol. We live in rural Maine, no friends or family up here, not sure who to call, and just came off of a two-day power outage. Unfortunately, I have no real knowledge of the workings of this old house and for the first time since living here, the water did not come back with the power. We're used to a day or less power outages and have not had to reset anything for the water. I found multiple articles that didn't really make sense to me on how to get the water to come back; nothing that described the instructions given in this video, then I found this. I was shocked at how simple it was and we were back in business! Thank you so much for this video!
Thank you so much! This video just helped me reset my dad’s well water system after a power outage. They just moved in their new house and don’t know much about well system. Thank you!
What happens when you don't have the little lever? Every single video or blog or web page says to pull up that lever..... what about when you dont have a lever??
I've recently replaced the pressure switch on my submersible well. The pump would not restart when the power was restored. I did not know the switch had to be reset. When did this type of switch come out? I've NEVER had this type of pressure switch, been on wells all of my 62 years. The well always came on when the power was restored.
A normal pressure switch you should not have to restart as it would come back on automatically after the power is restored. However, if you have a M4 pressure switch, there is a little lever on the side of that switch that you would have to manually lift to engage the pump. These switches are used for “pump protection” typically on lower producing wells. Hope this helps.
Once the power is restored, you press that lever as shown in the video. It only takes a few seconds to repressurize and you'll feel it release once it's done.

If you do not have the lever, it is considered a standard pressure switch and will automatically reset itself when power is restored.
When electricity comes back on the pump will run that switch is junk.

@@rikkiperrin8228 Yep. But why would Lowe's ONLY stock this type? Had to visit the local Ace to get the right switch.
Can the simple pump work on a 500' deep well?
Thank you!
Can you run well pump on car battery
