I work for a dealership, our used lot only likes to sit on cars for about a month max before they either discount it or send it off to auction. We typically sell for about 5-6k over what we have in it, so it’s hit or miss on whether we actually “lose” money on it, but the lot space and time is a big factor. Congrats on the Z06 order, that's pretty exciting. Will you sell your current Vette at a profit to finance the Z06? I envy you and your Dad going to that driving school, THAT is an experience you'll never forget. Not the cars themselves, they will come and go, but the time you get to spend with your Dad. Priceless.
If he’s going to sell his current C8 for a profit he needs to do it right now because the market is cooling off on Corvettes and prices are coming down, and as soon as the Z06 hits the ground there will be tons of trade-ends and used examples in the market and prices will fall below MSRP
I agree with newer cars all having issues, with dealers making most of their profit off service/repairs I'm not surprised they're made that way. Its just a consumer market, that's why I love older cars, they just don't make them like they used to!
I also have to correct yo on the fact that covered or pop up headlights are still legal, if done correctly on new cars. They just don't do it any more.
Btw the P3 Platform that the XC70 is built on, those are the later TF-80SC transmissions, those are solid. The problem was the 3.2 Inline 6 , which was used in the Land Rover Discovery, has oil consumption issues. The 3.0 Turbocharged 6cyl is a solid really reliable Motor /the one to go for.
The economy and stock market are in a downturn, because of the inflation problem...the FED will be cutting down their balance sheet (plans to sell U.S. bonds, mortgage back securities, etc.) and raising rates from next month into 2023...
Trans/America(na). It’s a nod to the older races of yor. Yor? Anyways, kind of like the Carrera-Panamerica, stuff like that, American manufacturers are done being original, so now “new” bronco, “new” charger, challenger, 1,000hp Super Duty Trans-Am, all that. Whatever, the NEXT smart build, would be an electric Daytona/Superbird... ;)
I would have went with an SS over the CTS-V if they were supercharged from the factory but being priced around the same it didn't make any sense. You could get the Holden bumpers installed at the chevy dealer. It took a long time for people to understand the GTO and G8's were built in Australia. So it's and American muscle import! Kind of like a Pantera haha
You are so right about cars today. If it's not Honda or Toyota - its a gamble at best. It's funny - people crave all these new and newer vehicles that look cool and have so much tech in them and the manufacturers build them because give the people what they want right? - yet they are all destined to tear up eventually and people wonder why. I wish more were still made today that were just reliable and don't have so much crap in them. We bought our first new vehicle in years a couple of weeks ago - 2022 Toyota 4Runner SR5. It's as basic as you can get and just like they made them 12 or 13 years ago. It'll still be running in 20 years when things like that Suburban you showed are long since crushed and turned into a soda can.
Love to see more about the Jeep. I want to do as you and find a used one like yours, without the lifter ticking, and leave it at my condo in Fla…. Thanks, love your channel, and enjoy your auction walk around videos the most…. Your dad and grand dad are awesome too!!!
Craig, you probably noticed this already, but because your tundra has a console shifter, I’m fairly confident that makes it a 2wd. 2 wheel drive and 4x4’s look almost identical outside, but I think 4x4’s have steering column shifters. I would guess 2wd tundras aren’t very marketable in the northeast.
The only reason I mentioned it is I was in the market for a Tundra and drove and looked at dozens in November & December. Every console shifter I found was 2wd. I needed a 4x4 so after a while I would just look for what shifter it had to determine if it was a 4x4 or not
@@FlyingWheels i'm thinking bench seat is colomn shift bucket seats are console shift don't think drive train 2wd vs 4x4 has anything to do with it. wouldn't mind you giving an update on your 4x4 console shift as being actual in a future video. thanks ✌️🐝➕
I agree with you on the newer suburbans that's one of the reasons that I'm putting work into an old 01 suburban still a great looking and running vehicle and on top of all that it really is a quality vehicle a few interior trim panels I had to replace but after 20 years I cant complain at all

I've owned 60 plus cars and the ones I bought, drove and made money off of were the Honda's and Toyotas because I put very little into repairs and they last forever! Love learning from you...
I think things will come back to normal soon. Last year at Manheim auctions across California, they were running about HALF the amount of cars through the auction block that they usually did! Latley it seems the amount of cars passing through these auctions are almost back at 2018/2019 levels. For example, today (2/9/22) @ Manheim CA in Anaheim, there are 2,600 cars on the presale sheet! In early 2019 before COVID, they were running 2200-2600 cars a week. So it's back to normal

Whatever, the NEXT smart build, would be an electric Daytona/Superbird... ;)
Love to see you guys out there enjoying time together...
The Holden badge is right, but it is also used on Vauxhall's in Britain.
Holden is popularised by the Australian badge. Both marks were owned by GMC
This channel is way too cool. You guys are great having fun doing business with awesome vehicles.
what did you get jeep for? price?
Great video. Was Craig’s dad 10 when he had him. Guy looks amazing and young.
I would guess 2wd tundras aren’t very marketable in the northeast.
uh oh. I hope that isnt true!
The only reason I mentioned it is I was in the market for a Tundra and drove and looked at dozens in November & December. Every console shifter I found was 2wd. I needed a 4x4 so after a while I would just look for what shifter it had to determine if it was a 4x4 or not
OHHH, that would be a bad one. Not much worse than buying a 2wd truck thinking it was 4wd. Been there, done that.
Tailgate say 4X4...not that that means everything but a good sign. 🤞
@@FlyingWheels i'm thinking bench seat is colomn shift
bucket seats are console shift
don't think drive train 2wd vs 4x4 has anything to do with it. wouldn't mind you giving an update on your 4x4 console shift as being actual in a future video. thanks
✌️🐝➕
Common for SS guys to put the Holden badges on them.
I agree with you on the newer suburbans that's one of the reasons that I'm putting work into an old 01 suburban still a great looking and running vehicle and on top of all that it really is a quality vehicle a few interior trim panels I had to replace but after 20 years I cant complain at all
!st gen Tundras from "dry" states are in the superhero category. I have an 02 TRD 4x4 165K that has given me ZERO problems over its life. I'll keep it for another 150K.
R/T has the 5.7 Hemi
Scat Pack has the 6.4 Hemi
I think T/A is just an appearance package but I'm not positive on that.
Can’t wait for a cruise video with you all in your new C8’s!
I commented that the Bentley was a mistake when you purchased it. I'm just sayin.
Own a tow truck service and you will say the same about Honda & Toyota.
Great video! Learned allot! I’m here in the Bahamas looking to start flipping cars too!! I’ll keep following you!
On the laser appraiser app all you have to do is scan the Vin on the Vin plate of the vehicle?
OMG Craig you like the SRT Chrysler Pacifica to???? Im waiting for those to finally be approved to put a preorder for. Im 21 and fuck it! I want a close to 500 HP Minivan badly.
Me too😁
@@FlyingWheels I’m doing mine however basic. I don’t want anyone to know it has that type of power so when someone tryna show off I wanna kick their butt in a race or whatever 😂😂😂😂
There is supercharged version of that Holden Commodore in Australia.
When Dodge and Pontiac designate any model with the initials TA it means Trans Am.
I do love these videos. Addictive!
The SS is a beast. soooo fun to drive!
Honda transmission problems too
Hey, Craig.
Could you please add previous and next videos as a comment or somewhere in the description? It'd be easier to navigate. It's a long list.
Cheers!
I think prices have peaked, and the first thing that's gonna come down in price is cars! The chip thing still hurts, but I'm sure I'm right. As for trucks, here in Texas they will always go for a premium! I dig your vids!
Craig TA is for Trans-Am. Love your videos btw.
The Chevy SS was a Holden Commodore. RIP Holden
Price?????
Price for what?
Your dad is awesome dude. And love the swag, the red jacket is fire
That's hilarious I have a 2011 CTS-V with 33k miles that never leaves the garage, a 07 Silverado 2500HD 6.0 runs great rusted to hell, A 06 330i with 225k miles I daily and love it but I work on cars. My girlfriend and my kids I only buy Honda's! I've owned 60 plus cars and the ones I bought, drove and made money off of were the Honda's and Toyotas because I put very little into repairs and they last forever! Love learning from you...
Here's a comment for the algorithm, for 38k for the SS and a 6spd is a good deal.
Pretty sure thoes are actual Holden wheels on the SS. Also holden was also GM fun fact.
That TL will be a great project. If you have no use for that broken taillight, send it my way
I think Wise will prevail !!! Your Dad is Wise!
Did you say Holden ??
From here ? Australia 🇦🇺???
Craig does your dad have a dealer ? im trying ti see the transition from him having a dealer to you having a dealer
No connection. He got his Wellesley license a few years ago. He can now go to auctions and buy and sell to other dealers
@@FlyingWheels so he can only wholesale per the state?
The Holden Commodore!! I want 1 2!🔥🔥🔥🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I'd love to get that Toyo pickup as a spare vehicle.
