What I find interesting is how the light and airy feel of the Rococo art movement is still present today through social media images, specifically family photography. Social media, at least in the past few years, has been using ''light and airy'' filters to give off a ''easy breezy, life great'' attitude. Though it may be true that people posting these types of photos, could be hiding or exaggerating reality, it's interesting how the same effect/style from Rococo is still being used today to covey the same feelings.
The absolute beauty of it. It's all about beauty and indulgence. When I look at art I want to feel relaxed and transported to somewhere exciting and Rococo is the personification of that.
This is so pleasing! I truly love that the artists of the time while paid by the aristocracy also had this rye sense of humor and sarcasm. They were documenting the life and ideals of aristocracy but were also very bold in their mockery of the escapades of the rich in such a politically charged time. I’m so glad you started with Rococo!
I love the way you explained everything. I, being a person who knows little and nothing about art, I thank you for this video. I am left wanting to know more and more :)
Rococo is true greatness, but I must add that it truly pales in comparison to the highest, most grandest form of art - Socialist Realism. ;) Seriously though, I cannot deny that Rococo is top tier. It is truly unique in that it is a window into a completely new world of culture that is almost completely unrelatable to nearly all modern perspectives. The history, the stories, the emotions - all add to the grandeur of the movement. Even these small glimpses into the lives of the French aristocracy seem ridiculous, possibly unbelievable if not for the reality of these remnants and artifacts of their wealth such as Versailles. I would love to visit France and be able to feel just a taste of that Rococo energy (although we'll be sure to stay far, far away from that "No no no" :D) Thanks for the great video Mrs. Alder!
Thank you for making this video! It really helped when I had to learn for my art history exam. It gave me inspiration when I had almost completely lost enthusiasm for studying history. I like how you explained the reasons and ideas behind Rococo.
I wish that I had found your channel months before my art exam than just a couple of days before. The way you are delivering everything is very referring compared to the academy, and you ignite my interest as well. Many thanks :)
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH i never studied rococo before and the difference between rococo, the romance era and avant garde confuses me a lot. TIME TO BINGE !!!♡♡♡♡
This was a really interesting video! I want to study art history once I graduate high school (I'm currently in 9th grade so I've got a ways to go!) and I love that I can learn background before I pursue it. I personally love rococo art for its colors, the playfulness of it, and the elaborate details. Love the video :D
Love the way you present the material. Especially repeating the main points. Although the rococo is not political art, it does show the excesses of the aristocracy that led to the French Revolution at the end of the century. I like the colors and find it enjoyable to enter a little fantasy world for awhile. Lifts up my spirits. Have subscribed to your channel.
Gavalanting? It's gallivanting, but you're cute and smart, so I love it. I'm an art historian, I think you did an excellent job. Yes, even on my time off, I love art history so much that I watch random art history videos. Keep up the great work.
It seems like people in thisnperiod suffered from anxiety and were looking for ways to feel light and happier. I can't say I'm a big fan of rococo, I like beauty in simple designs but great video
Hey hello im from Pakistan and love your every video and these videos really helped in learning ... Just fan of your videoss please upload more history related to isms like romanticism , realism and impressionism
Hi Fallen, the Neoclassical art period technically comes after Rococo. When we talk about art periods and movements, there is always overlap and transition periods. Rococo took off in the 1730s and flourished until the 1770s. Neoclassical started in the 1760s, reached its height in the 1780s and '90s, and then continued until the 1840s and '50s. If you haven't watched my video on the Neoclassical art period, here it is: ua-cam.com/video/ZZpsakljOAQ/v-deo.html
Thanks for watching! What do you find interesting with the Rococo art movement?

There aren't enough F-words in the English language to describe Rococo art 🤣
Rubbish you lost my attention with I'm 2 seconds..
