I'm pleased to say that all the 6 locos bar my first, a tich built in 1952, have steamed without fault first time out. The main reasons are: I extensively tested all components prior to assembly, in particular items such as the mechanical lubricator. I ran the chassis on air for an extended period. I made a small gas heated boiler for testing all boiler fittings.
That is good practice to test items like that,I tested my water gauges under pressure before steaming and it paid off, trouble I still had injector problems with one injector, thanks for watching the video and your comment.
At the momment the engine is finished and I am building the sit on tender.Due to circumstances beyond my controle I have not yet run it on the track, hopefully I am planning to lay some temp track on my drive to give it a try out.
