@@VacMaster1991 too easy - it’s a brand new car but I need a new vacuum so I wanted to see if it went alright on car mats if I do it regularly and they don’t turn nasty
@@VacMaster1991 In my opinion, they should have used a more powerful motor in this electric brush, because the vacuum cleaner itself has greater suction power.
I wonder if the gen 5 could pass the floor under the carpet test? I don't think I've ever seen a Dyson cordless tested on this. Just curious if it would be powerful enough. I have a V10 and I do like it but I don't think it can match the power of my Riccar
The v10, v11, v15 and Gen5 have scored 95% plus on vacuum wars deep clean tests. So they are plenty powerful enough. Flour under the carpet isn't terribly realistic considering dirt shouldn't be under your carpet.
Still interested on how it would do. Having the v10 has convinced me that bagged vacuums are way less messy /dirty and require way less maintenance. Even after washing the filter on the dyson it has an odor and I only use it for quick pickups and have very little square footage. Taking apart the cyclone assembly to clean it is a huge task and risky as plastic parts can break. I would maybe feel differently if Dyson made it easier to clean out the cyclone assembly, some other manufacturers have figured this out. This is merely my opinion based on my experience, not asking for anyone to agree or disagree as it's not a point I would argue about. Dyson is a good product but it could be better, again just my opinion. Not here to challenge what anyone else thinks or feels.
@@mikek8720making the cyclone easy to wash out would be impossible considering there are sensors and electronics inside the cyclone. Some bagless vacs are easier to maintain than others. My v15 has smelled in the past. I just wash the filter in gentle soap and that usually fixes it.
Interesting that you have had good luck with your dysons. I do like the models that I end up keeping, however of all the brands I’ve ever owned Dyson has broken down on me the most. The killer is I never even use them much. Dc25 blue print had a bad brush roll from the start dyson sent whole new cleaner head, same machine hose just broke right away from wand. Dc59 battery died prematurely, connection at bottom of wand just came off. Ball animal 2 after use number 5 the red part of the wand just broke off, back to the store it went. I am far more careful than most vac collectors so these were disappointing to me. I do love my v8 though
I have only had one issue with one of the 20+ Dyson's I have owned. All I used for more than a year. My dc25 is still working great. So is my 6 year old Ball animal 2. My v15 has been used basically every single day for over two years with not one issue. It still works like day one. I don't baby my machines either. Plus two other people use them too. I wash the filters when they get dirty. Not on any schedule. I occasionally wash the fluffy roller. I also wash the bin out every few months. I basically never have to clean the carpet brush roll since it's de tangling, same with the hair screw tool. I don't dismantle my v15 and deep clean it constantly. It's a daily vacuum and gets used like one.
@@VacMaster1991 Thank you. What are your thoughts on my dislikes I commented on in your original video? The wand connection is weak where it connects to the main unit. It may become weak with extended use. The red rubber gaskets protrude in the cyclone area and may become weak and break off after extended use. Cost is a bit much. Warranty should be longer for that price. Overall the performance, HEPA filtration new motor, larger battery and on/off button are phenomenal improvements.
@@Italianv74 The red gasket is on most cordless Dysons. Not just this one. Only time will tell about the want connection. It's expensive but worth it if you want the best cordless vac available. If $950usd is too much. The v15 is on sale for $600. And normally goes for $700 ish. The v15 is plenty for most people.
@@VacMaster1991 Yes. I have the V8, V11, V15 Detect and the Outsize and love them. The gasket does not protrude on those models. It's almost like extra gasket. Thanks
i returned the gen 5 and got the outsize gen 5 , the regular one was clamping to the carpet even on eco with gates open. the slightly lower cfm of the outsize(due to the larger head solved the problem . i loooove it!!
@@VacMaster1991 i heard that dyson has recently patented a vac head bleeder valve which would also solve the issue and enable them to do away with the clunky 3 gate system, were you have to bend over to change the gates. the bleeder valve would just keep it from clamping, the fruit loops would still pile up though, lol

can we up the standard of "pet hair test"? don't just throw clumps of pet hair on the carpet..rub it in really good\sit on it\ put a stack of 10 books on it\whatever..like imagine my cat can sit in his favorite spot 12 hours a day ...how do you think it's gonna look like after a week?
@@VacMaster1991 I appreciate your reply! i can tell you confidently as an owner of pets and vacuums that cat hair is almost always too short to be able to wrap around the brush and dog hair is too coarse, pet hair usually challenges attachments..i used to own a a few vacuums that could not really suck in all the fur in my cat's favorite spot, it would only get the "top" but the deeply ingrained hairs would still stay in the carpet so you would have to brush and agitate it first first yourself. I haven't had this issues in years though so i don't know if i am buying better vacuums or the vacuum industry improved on this aspect i guess that's why i requested what i did :D

they way it trim the carpet is so amazing 🤩
Trim the carpet?

Yes the vacuum cleans very well.
@@VacMaster1991 i guess i will buy it than after one year waiting for it, and now i'm still not completely decided but i will jump
How does it go on car mats?
Just fine. Though I wouldn't use a $950 vacuum on a nasty car.

I still would just use a shop vac. But yes this will work on car mats.
Does your electric carpet brush not slow down or stop completely while vacuuming?
On thicker carpet yes

@@dariuszd1 the brush roll is still 100w. That hasn't changed since the v10. The gen5 needs a 150w brush roll. Maybe 200w
