This OVA had such a good concept of humanity being on the back pedal due to only being able to use 3rd gen fighters or older against the aliens. And while Girly Air Force did develop this concept further it never really clicked with me, but the brazilian references on Gripen were nice. Honestly I could see this OVA becoming a full blown 12 episode series, it qould be picked up so fast by the Ace Combat fandom it would probably break some speed record.
As a model builder, I want Hasegawa to issue special versions of the main characters' aircraft. They already have the 1/72 scale tooling for the Mitsubishi F-1, the MiG-23, the Kfir C-2 and the Saab J-37 Viggen. The markings look standard, so all they'd really need to add to the decal sheet would be the iconic "Hell Alice" squadron badge. It would also be nice if they provided 1/24 scale figures of the pilots with each model. Thanks for sharing this!
neat thing is the planes in this show f-35 and f-22 are both in our Airforce now. and f-35 in not only ours but a lot other countries around the world air forces as well or countries have order them. and Japan is working on their 6-gen fighter, and they got idea look from our f-22
Once I am reminded of the potential fact that the Red Baron would have very much loved to have flown jets.
It's clear it exists solely for the rule of cool, and the creators gave the middle finger to physics, but still.....I'd watch it.

I think the lead of the creator team went on to make The Magnificent Kotobuki, which is about as close as you'll get to a full season of this.
