Austin was a midcarder when Bischoff took over WCW as was Foley, Triple H, Nash, Hall and Taker left under the previous management. Eric Bischoff worked under Vern Gagne prior to joining WCW, so unlike the guy before him Jim Herd, had experience in the business and understood, Jim Herd had worked for Dominos prior to WCW. Jim Herd wanted to turn Flair into a gladiator and let him leave to WWF with their belt. WCW didn’t start making money until Eric Bischoff took over. Eric is responsible for a lot of the changes in the business like guaranteed contracts, live weekly shows. Technically he is responsible for Steve Austin’s push in WWF. @@sammymorales6838Haku had left the WWF long before the Kliq existed, the only one he had any dealings with was Shawn Michaels, and once in WCW he may have had brief dealings with Vinnie Vegas, the Diamond Studd and Jean Paul, but they weren’t the Kliq yet. So he had no real animosity towards any of those guys. He was friends with Hall and Nash, who are also friends with Triple H and Waltman.

I still find his story to be wrong. I've heard him say before that he was right there when they came to the gate. PLUS, he couldn't have been in the ring. DX was there early, it was clearly bright out. Nitro was at 8pm start time. His timeline is off.

.... So, in other words, Bischoff totally could've been in the ring, DX didn't show up early, and there are two entire seasons of the year when there's still daylight at 8 pm...and the DX invasion angle happened during the first of the two, LOL!
Did you want to hilariously contradict yourself a few more times in a public platform? That you "still find his story wrong," says infinitely more about you, than it does about Bischoff's factual anecdote....which is self-deprecating...and would not have gained, nor accomplished, anything for Bischoff or (retroactively) WCW if it had been a lie (and those details can't possibly be confused, so it's not like Bischoff is wildly misremembering how it all happened.
Not to mention that RAW and Nitro were both filmed live by the time the DX invasion angle happened....that everyone involved has stated that DX showed up while WCW was filming...that WCW fans at Nitro came pouring out of The Scope to see DX...and the fact that, you know, IT"S ALL BEEN RECORDED AND SHOWN IN MULTIPLE WWE DOCUMENTARIES AND CLIPPED ALL OVER UA-cam. Hahahahahaha!

Keep trying to tell ppl that Bischoff is a hack. Theres a cottage industry of wrestlers that did better in WWE than they ever would have in WCW after he took over. The only reason he made it was b/c Vince refused to change. Once he did it was over relatively quickly. He is a product of the sleazy environment that he was hired into.

Ah yes, I too remember when RAW matches were filmed from the private residences of every wrestler who each had a wrestling ring in their houses, presided over by the three referees the WWE had, who could all magically teleport between every wrestler's home located all over the country, and yet filmed on a weekly, 1 to 3 hour show....😂

Austin was a midcarder when Bischoff took over WCW as was Foley, Triple H, Nash, Hall and Taker left under the previous management. Eric was going to keep Austin but Ric Flair talked him into firing him. Eric Bischoff worked under Vern Gagne prior to joining WCW, so unlike the guy before him Jim Herd, had experience in the business and understood, Jim Herd had worked for Dominos prior to WCW. Jim Herd wanted to turn Flair into a gladiator and let him leave to WWF with their belt. WCW didn’t start making money until Eric Bischoff took over. Eric is responsible for a lot of the changes in the business like guaranteed contracts, live weekly shows. Technically he is responsible for Steve Austin’s push in WWF. He signed Hall and Nash, then the Curtain Call happened and Triple H got punished, he was suppose to win the 96 King of the Ring not Austin. So had he not signed Hall and Nash, the Curtain Call wouldn’t have happened and Austin would have remained in the midcard.
I was in the media. We were supposed to do interviews with WCW that day but they declined. That was unusual. Then we drove to Hampton an interviewed members of WWE. Then I went home and watched both and discovered the DX invasion. Then I said that’s why. WCW had been very accommodating till that point Randy Savage cut a promo for my weekly sports highlight show
