Stop plumbing new homes with CSST and you'll have less of this. Imagine plumbing your whole gas system with a "supply line" because that's what CSST is.
From what they said today, it was propane, but still fed into the house. I still assume the tank that is outside of the house did not explode and this was the house filling up with propane and then the house exploded. Otherwise the damage would of been much different from an external tank explosion. I didn't expect that a house in a housing track like this would be using propane. Usually they are on natural gas from lines buried underground. I usually expect propane tanks in more rural/farm areas (much like septic tanks).
I had a hot water tank replaced once and the plumber said they had to fix some gas leaks they detected on the line. They were honest and said they didn't know if it was always leaking or if they disturbed it while replacing the tank. I think it was always there since I had smelled very slight amounts of gas at the location, but always assumed it was from the furnace starting up.
Seems to me that what the public needs to know is what actually happened. What was the first actions of the firemen at the scene? Did they attempt to cut off the gas supply entering the building? I don't know but this is important.
I was about two miles away...was like a tornado combined with an earthquake for 3-5 seconds. Remember that home explosion in Arlington a few months back? Oh and the dc.metro explosion a few days ago. Wtf is going on.
Dude, she has cancer, has talked about it alot, and let viewers know that she might be going bald for awhile so she can continue working - give her her props, and well wishes, while you're at it. 👍

why in the hell would they send a firefighter in there knowing there was a huge gas leak? That is so sad!!
I agree it seems their nelgecance on the safety of the firefighter killed him it seems common since not go inside a house that as mells like gas 🤷
@@juliaweber212 You'd think they'd have all kinds of gas sensors / drones, stick a gas detector on a stick?
Prayers for Virginia
My heart is with the family and friends and the community of the firefighter who lost his life, trying to save others. 😢❤
Is it just me or have there been an inordinate amount of "house explosions" lately? Hmmm.
I just said the same thing earlier. Pattern Recognition
Prayers for everyone
Where is the gas engineer to shut the gas off? My dad was a gas engineer a firefighter is the wrong person
Every gas meter I've ever seen is outside the house with a shutoff that could be turned with just about anything, even the right sized stick.

Such a tragedy. May God bless that firefighters family.

That's a terrorist act in my opinion. Investigate.
Remind me never to buy a house
As if apartment buildings never fall down or explode? 🤦🏻♀️
Don't buy a home
🏕️
Was there residents in the house?
The building inspector was mates with the seller obviously.....

There was a gas leak but you don't know what caused the explosion? GTFO
I'm glad the female anchor has hair. A lot more watchable
