Four Tops - I Believe In You And Me

- I believe in you and me
I believe that we will be
In love eternally
As far as I can see
You will always be the one
For me
Oh, yes, you will
I believe in dreams again
I believe that love will never end
And like the river finds the sea
I was lost
Now I'm free
I believe in you and me
I will never leave your side
I will never hurt your pride
When all the chips are down
I will always be around
Just to be right where you are
My love
Oh, I love you, girl
I will never leave you out
I will always let you in
To places no one's ever been
Deep inside
Can't you see
I believe in you and me
Maybe I'm a fool
To feel the way I do
But I would play the fool forever
Just to be with you forever
I believe in miracles
Love's a miracle
And, baby, you're a dream come true
I was lost
Now I'm free, girl
I believe in you and me
I was lost
Now I'm free, girl
I believe in you and me
No other version could be better. This is the Hallmark. RIP Mr. Stubbs. You are loved.I can listen to him. 24/7.
I saw the Tops do this live at the Fox Theater here in Motown. Levi cleared the stage, toweled himself off, sat on a stool, and started singing. And about halfway into the song, the lights come on, and out comes the rest of the Tops singing in harmony. BEAUTIFUL!
Only Levi Stubbs could sing this!! Rest In Paradise Levi👼🏽💖💖💖
Beautiful song, nothing like the oldies.❤️❤️❤️
My eyes always water when I hear this song. I think about my wife and worry about her everyday. Wishing everyone good health in these difficult times. 🙏🏽
I hear you. My husband is very sick and this song makes me cry. A good cry!
Me too!
❤
I hope she stays ok❤❤
Whoever said Levi owns this song...........you are right. No one else sings it better. No one else ever will.
I totally agree with you. I heard this version long before I heard Whitney Houston. I liked her version too, but their version was fantastic.
Master at his craft. Don’t know why people keep thinking it’s a Whitney Houston song. Four Tops to the World!!!!!!!!!!
mhertz25 you are so right. What a voice. Levi Stubbs was one of the world’s greatest lead singers❤❤
He was absolutely brilliant
@@ThelmaPorter Whitney Houston made it ultra popular by singing it in the Preachers Wife and just plain singing it period just like she did with Partons “I will always love you. No one could sing like Whitney.
What a voice on that man...Levi Stubbs...RIP!!
Oh yes
You said it for me.....
One of the greatest songs of all time sung by one of the greatest of all times, Mr. Levi Stubbs.
Levi smashed this song, such beautiful lyrics, his voice says it all lovely, such fond memories of this song, chokes me everytime I listen to it..🎵🎵
This is by far the best version in my opinion.
His voice make the lyrics enter your soul ❤️
❤
This is what inspired Whitney to record this. This brother sung this song straight into the heart of listener.
Yes he did !
Levi was one in a million had a great voice
Ohhhh I’m in tears. This is just beautiful. Says everything. And Levi sings it to perfection.
The raw emotions by Levi is beyond World Class.
Top shelf ????
I was told to come and listen to this song by a man who believes in US. This is one of those oldies but goodies that is tasteful, romantic and will NEVER go out of style. Mr. Levi Stubbs hit this one out of the PARK.
Never heard this before...Levi Stubbs voice is THE BEST !
Singing doesn't get any better than this! Levi's voice has always been able to lift my sprit and soul, what a gift he had and what a legacy he has left us. RIP Levi, it has been such a privilege to have your voice in my time.
One of the great vocal performances of all time.
I cannot believe I never heard this version before, it's the greatest version ever!
It's the origianl version. The Four Tops recorded first!!
Usually the ORIGINAL version is the better version...But ppl, always want whats new which usually is a copy or a decent rendition.
YES...THIS IS THE GREATEST VERSION....
It’s the Original!
the most beautiful love song of all time, I dedicate to my bride of 37 years, Gretchen I love you!
Listen.....Whitney did a great job with this song but this version is over the top good. Levi Stubbs really pours everything into it. Thanks for sharing.
Agreed ?????
Rightly so
Amen ❤
When ever I hear Levi sing this song, I shed a tear. It is so beautiful.
Levi Stubbs had one of the best voices of all time,
the 4tops a all time great group, their music catalog stands up to any group people can name
Levi had a very versatile and powerful voice. He was a great guy who had the option to have his name as heading the band, but chose instead to be just called the 4 tops. This was so all 4 were treated equally.
Levi Stubbs had the most soulful and real voice and to me the greatest vocalist of all time.
Beautiful words for only a certain few. The rest will never understand.
No you won't get cursed out for being correct that song belongs to Sir Levi Stubbs
such a gorgeous song, delivered by perhaps one of the best voices of all time. It gets no better. Just beautiful!!!
This is our wedding song, we had it on repeat all night!! Couldn't believe that the four tops didn't get more credit for this song!! Hits the ❤!!!! Fantastic!!
Levi's voice is pure class; just bliss to listen to.
OMG!! This song make me miss my first love. We are no longer together but he will always hold that special place in my heart.
This is the most perfect version of this song. Levi Stubbs had a gift in his voice and his ability to use it effectively... God what an amazing man he was, all 4 of them together were Magic and I was there to witness it firsthand.
Soundtrack of my youth 🎼🖤
This is a remarkable song, that presents and defines the meaning of what love is. The power in this song is presented in such a way that it is boundless. The tenderness, softness, goodness, the expressions of love, our eternal blessing.
Classic Four Tops. Does not get any better than this.
It sure doesn't !!!!
I agree with everything you said! My all time favorite song and so important in my life at this moment.
This is one of the most beautiful songs in the world
Yes it is for sure!
Not a dry eye at the wedding when they play this.
This was our wedding song back in 1988!
Yesssss it is
I can't tell how many times i feel it in my soul when i hear it
Ever!
This is just an absolutely perfect vocal performance. How do you sing tender and powerful at the same time? Absolutely amazing! When I think of a beautiful, classic, perfect male singing voice, I think of Levi Stubbs on this track. The performance was already perfect, and when he hits that note at the end it's like are you kidding... drop the mike!
If you ever had the opportunity to hear Levi perform this song, you understand that no one could ever bring this to life like Levi. His passion in performing this number will stay with you forever. I would go to every Four Tops event just to hear this song.
one of the greatest most icon voices ever...thank you Mr. Levi Stubbs
Yep. Howdga like to be sung "Happy Birthday" to, by Levi and Smokey Robinson? It happened to me, a million years ago!
This is a magnificent song of hope and love. There's none better than the Tops. Sing it Levi. What a great talent. He had such devotion and honesty in his music. God bless you Levi sing on in the heavenly choir. You are truly missed. #1 fan forever.
A beautiful song sang by a beautiful person. Xx
Levi of the Four Tops made this the ballad of love in the 70s. A real classic celebrating timeless love.
@zalewskimm Yeah, I believe it came out in '82 or '83.
Levi delivered, as he always did!
He had the power when needed, but also such honesty in his voice
Noone will ever sing this song as well as Levi...I love him his voice and his qualities af a wonderful man, husband father and grandfather...One hell of a loving man..a one woman man. God bless him xx
One of the best singers ever...never gets the credit. Great song.
One of the best love songs I ever heard
I remember listening to this every night on the Quiet Storm. Still one of my favorites. Love Whitney but her rendition of this song can't even compare.
THE LATE LEVI STUBBS LEFT ONE AMAZING LEGACY
FOR ALL HIS FANS TO ENJOY FOR A LIMETIME THANK YOU
VERY MUCH FOUR TOPS, MOTOWN, AND youtube.com LEVI STUBBS RIP.....
Stubbs is pure gold! That voice holds so much depth, power and raw emotion. Gives me the willies, just like when I listen to Ask the Lonely.
Perfection - vocally, lyrically and musically.
I still get chills when I hear this..can't imagine anyone else singing it
What could he not sing?A true master at his trade.Rip Mr.Stubbs
brother Levi sang the hell out of this song. one of his best, if not the best. for a natural baritone, he had a very nice range. thank god for recordings. thank you lord!
I've mentioned the same thing on some of their other videos. He could sing notes that even second tenors couldn't reach. One of the strongest and most recognizable voices in the history of popular and soul music. No one before or since has been able to duplicate what he could do.
Oh and if you're a fan of Levi, I know you've heard his rendition of "MacArthur Park". By far the best version ever done and the Tops did some of their best background vocals ever on the bridge.
GLAD TO KNOW THAT THERE IS ANOTHER LEVI FAN .
oldschoolsinger His voice was simply amazing but so too the lyrics of this song and note on the wall in the background (There is always hope). Truly touching!
THE LYRICS ARE GREAT. GOD BLESS.
What a beautiful song. Levi can really hit the notes. Levi Stubbs you were a blessing to the music industry. We'll really miss you. RIP my brother.

Damn...what a love song! what a life song! Levi at his best:) RIP
I was watching a rerun of Miss Universe 1985 Top 10 and they played this song in the background. What? I thought only Miss Whitney recorded it in 1996. So this is how I got here. Love the original recording. My hats off to you Levi and the Four Tops.
This song sung by Levi Stubbs never fails to make me cry.
I love this particular cut by the Four Tops. It truly reaches the soul. The words, the melody is all spell binding. It amazes me the talent of Levi Stubbs. His raspy voice is second to none. This group will definitely live on. I hope the younger generation will catch on to the quality of this music of this era. Four Tops, you all are the greatest. Love you guys.
REST IN PEACE LEVI REST IN PEACE....

Whenever Levi sings he always takes it to church!!
Yeah, and sometimes he ends up *EATING* the church! If you know what I mean.
Levi's the plant in Little Shop of Horrors.
I was blessed to know and spend time with The Tops, hung out ,played cards , told jokes and just had good times with them. Great guys. Only Duke is still with us. Miss them truly
I'll always love the Four Tops!
LEGEND. Thanks for the music. RIP Levi.
Berry Gordy said in his Biography "To be Loved" Levi could make you a believer of a song better than any other Motown artist. Levi sang from his heart and we could all feel it-"Bernadette", "it's all in the game", "Still Waters (Love)" 'Yesterdays Dream", etc, Another once in a lifetime voice.
I, too, have a Joe. I thank God everyday for him. So sorry for your loss, May your grieving heart heal soon.
This is one of the best wedding songs ever...
Not only is this a gorgeous song, which a friend of mine had for the first dance at her wedding, but absolutely no one could sing it like Levi Stubbs. He was amazing and I was fortunate enough to hear him sing this song and others one time at Radio City in New York. I was upset to hear about his stroke and even more upset when he passed on. God rest his soul. A wonderful light went out when he died but we still have his wonderful voice to listen to, and this song was his best ever.
One of the best songs humanity was ever privileged to listen to
What a beautiful song of story telling, just like back in the old days, when music made sense and the songs where heartfelt! Peace!
I love this song. It reminds me of my brother John who passed away last year. He loved his wife Lauren like I have never seen a man love a woman before. Lauren had early onset Alsheimers and passed five months after my brother did. I smile when I say this because I know they are together again. I love you and miss you John.
+Marlene Graham May they rest in peace,Marlene.
rlcope45 thank you so much. Such a beautiful song isn't it.
M Graham so amazing story
You must see The Tribute to Mr Stubb's, it was truly wonderful, and beautifully done.

Definitely THE version to listen to. Levi was the best ever male soul singer and is surely missed. I never get tired listening to this beautiful song.

This song is timeless.
This song brings me to tears every time I listen to it. I know that I will feel the feelings conveyed in this song for my spouse, and will gladly sing it to him when we take our vows, and then daily for the rest of my life because that's what love is really all about!
For me this song is dedicated to God and a man's undying Love for his woman. Maybe that is too much, but that is how I see it❤️
I agree Brenda.
Beautiful
First, this is simply the greatest love song ever written! Second, no other group (male or female) can compare to The Four Tops' tight harmonies. Last, Levi Stubbs was the best male singer that ever recorded on the Motown label!!!
