2017 Volkswagen Golf GTI Review - Is this the Golf 7.5?

- Not content with leaving a car on the market for more than 6 minutes, Volkswagen have released an updated version of the Golf range, including the venerable GTI, which we're now calling the Golf 7.5 GTI.
While hardcore GTI enthusiasts will easily spot the changes for the new GTI, for the less petrol-headed among us, we detail those changes and take a look at the power outputs for the latest variant. Hint: most changes have occurred in the cabin.
In this video, we take the latest GTI to one of our favourite mountain passes outside Cape Town, and drive it up and down repeatedly in a bid to make a video. No one enjoyed themselves in the process. Nope. No fun was had. Zero. Cough.

I wonder, why the standard 7 GTI doesn’t have a driving mode button
I am currently in the market for a everyday hot hatch. Not a brand new one but very good condition second hand vehicle. Anyway, I had my mind set on a Ford Focus ST3 for all the features you get. Then started looking at the Focus RS as its all wheel drive and then moved on to looking at the Golf R lol, which is currently on the top of my list.
Something I noticed while looking at vehicles for the past 6 months is the increase in price since the beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic! I personally thought vehicles would drop in price a bit but clearly not the case. Some cars had price increases from the beginning of the pandemic (beginning of the year) to Sept 2020 valuing over R60 000! Anybody have any ideas or reasons why this is the case?

I'm in love with the new tail lights LED design, but the new LED headlights don't look right on a GTI to me, just the base model golf
NASTY G Be sure to check it IRL... I also thought the 7.5 lights wasent good looking until isaw them for real, looks much better than the former GTI Bi Xenon ones i thought after & more quality look.

I get about 9l/100km with my 7.5 GTi. You can get it down to 7l with relaxed driving

dzeep ndlovu It's not cheap. Or acually it depends on what you compare it to. Acually you get soo much for your money. But i admit its not for free, but no car is.. Look at Audis & ull see.. My 2017 GTI Clubsport was around 43.000 dollars... But its very well equipped. Check it on my channel!

Agreed. And they say the new Tiguan is basically a golf 7 SUV...so sounds like the choice should be easy, but there are so many rivals to consider and of course the value proposition those might offer
