Hi and welcome to todays walking tour around the beautiful village of Arthur's Pass that is located in the Bealey valley among the impressive Southern Alps mountain range on the South Island of New Zealand.
Arthur's Pass village sits at 739 meters above sea level and was established in 1906 and was originally named Camping Flat then Bealey Flats before finally being named Arthur's Pass after the discovery and survey of this alpine route through the Southern Alps by Arthur Dudley Dobson in February 1864
