You can kill the blood dragon. There's even an achievement/trophy for doing it. You just have to be quicker and use the LMG or RPG that Marvel spawns in. Regardless, i agree this dlc was a let-down. Glad I got FarCry 3 with the season pass. Only way it makes up for it.
They should've made a Dinosaur DLC instead.
Far Cry Primal should have been Far Cry Dinosaurs instead.

Only good thing about dead living zombies was the map editor assets. Hell they used the in game map editor to create the dead living zombies dlc.

They should have a Blood Dragon sized dlc set in Lousiana or Florida. That way you'd have alligators and all kinds of new animals to hunt. Maybe have some Neo-Confederate militia be the main antagonist.

This DLC season had so much potential...
They should have turned the main map into a post nuke map with zombies and some scattered survivors, they could have reasoned that when the radiation from the nuke and the bliss combined it caused the dead to mutate into Zombies. Then let you play in that open world sand box. The story could have been centered around finding your friends who survived, with some of them becoming boss fights since they already turned into zombies.
That would have been infinitely better. That's what I was hoping this was going to be.

If they had done an open world zombie expansion that would have been played out and stale but still better. After some of the arcade maps i kinda want a wild west far cry expansion/stand alone mini game
I believe there was a hint regarding another Blood Dragon type expansion at 6:06. The guy says something like "...there was apparently Blood Dragon 2 and 3...", but in face there was a game called "Trials of the Blood Dragon", which was "Trails 2" spin-off. It's a kind of bike related arcade sidescroller, also taking place in Blood Dragon universe. That third poster has "Omega" symbol, which is related to "God of War" series, so perhaps another "Blood Dragon" would be set in that universe?

I loved the atmosphere and lore. I was quite willing to trade my guns and trucks for a more prehistoric setting. I just wish it had these things(some are super nitpicky):
It needed a more complex melee system, with blocking and more directions to swing in. Just tie it to the right toggle or the mouse, so you can choose where you swing a club.
Instead of some of the eighty-something skills to unlock, a hydration and hunger meter would really be a good survival aspect, just add a small red bar(hunger) and a blue bar(thirst) atop the stamina bar. Maybe make this a survival-mode only feature.
(As a quick note, Primal takes place in what is most likely Ukraine)
Animals: remove dholes, crocodiles, and tapirs(all in the wrong part of the globe), and replace them with _Homotherium_ (an awesome schmitar-tooth cat) and wild horses. These animals are oddly absent, and dholes are also annoying as fuck. This is irrelevant, but where are the female/young Tall Elks? Literally all of them are elders and have an enormous rack for no reason. Also, remove the biteish( _African_ goliath tigerfish), and replace it with an unrealistically giant "Wels" catfish that attempts to swallow you whole after emerging from the muddy river bottom. This is more unique, setting-appropriate, and also quite terrifying.
Maybe it should've been set further back, considering that neanderthals(Udam) went extinct ~40,000 years ago, not ~12,000 years ago as the game would lead us to believe. Although that would've made the Mesopotamian-inspired Izila tribe _even more_ ahead of their time.
To me the best farcry expansions are Blood Dragon, Valley of the Yetis, Lost on Mars
Blood Dragon 2 needs to be a thing.
It would probably end up being underwhelming or just a copy and paste of the original blood dragon. Some things are just best left alone.

The levels for this dlc looks like it was made in the arcade mode. You probably can make the levels in this dlc in the arcade mode (aka map maker).

Say Jarek off topic with the current video so I apologize in advance, what's your opinion of the recent (at least for me anyway) released trailer for "Just Cause 4" I put quotations there because when I first saw the trailer I literally asked myself, wasn't there already a Just Cause 4 released? If this is just an expansion why not add something to the title?

I was so excited for this dlc.... zombies and far cry?!!! Sounds awesome right? No! It’s so short!!!!! So bland and tedious.. huge disappointment

@@kiwimarshall3937 Yeah, dying light handles zombies really well by having a huge amount of variety meaning it requires actual strategy to fight them. Not to mention the physics are great so you can spend hours just knocking them around.
Why don't they do a far cry blood dragon: classic edition like they did far cry 3?
Personally the only zombie games I actually enjoyed playing were left 4 dead and killing floor 2.

I played thinking of what they could have done maybe an action movie inspired landscape where you feel like john wick or something
the Mars DLC was the only one that wowed me as it stood out from the other two, I would have prefered dinosaurs or something with more wow factor to it, maybe lizardman, and give me a lizardman buddy in the base game but I have to ask what does the zombie DLC add

Ubisoft! Far Cry remastered 4k collection please: Far Cry 3 plus DLC, Far cry 4 plus DLC, Far Cry 5 plus DLC.
Having gotten FC5 & New Dawn, along with all of FC5's expansions, for cheaper digitally than the base game's full digital price (I'm not joking, it was like 20 bucks for the whole thing, while the base game was still 60), I wasn't sure what to expect.
I'll be honest: I found myself enjoying it, but yeah, it just didn't click very well for me. I blazed through it with my cousin (less than 3 hours spent both main levels and score attacks, almost always getting 3 stars) just for the skins, but even then, the skins kinda look...dumb. The only one I liked was the SPAS-12 skin because it's an Evil Dead reference, but really, i guess it was neat I got it essentially for free but eh, oh well.
Assassins Creed Origins made me buy a Season Pass for the first time and I actually felt it was kind of worth it. I did the same for FC5... and the DLCs were such a disappointment (not to talk about how FC3 remake controls were nearly unplayable).. never again. I went back into not buying Season Passes again.
I was hoping it'd be the CoD Zombies formula in the Far Cry world, so disappointment doesn't even cut it when it comes to my opinion on this DLC.

Well, New Dawn isn´t Blood Dragon but it´s something i always wanted Far Cry to do.
Lol I kinda liked the soldier mimicking the gunshot sounds with his mouth lol everything else sounds silly in a bad way.

These games are all in a similar category, I call them spin-offs. These games use the same, or very similar maps as their "parent game", and re-contextualize them in different ways.
I wish every expansion had the same polish and "newness" but that's not how Ubisoft has been releasing these things.

I think all of these expansions were supposed to be part of Blood Dragon 2, but something must have happened.. That they thought it must have been more... well, like what why we must have gotten these silly expansions..

Man, it's weird seeing people who don't care about zombies. They're so overused!
Not that they *can't* be fun or interesting, but I don't get what everyone sees in them.
Seriously, I don't get any of the interest in zombies. They're so boring.
Typically it isn't the zombies themselves, but the worlds they create. There is a certain degree of schadenfreude, or maybe catharsis, that comes from seeing the world we take for granted erased from existence by a pandemic that erases humanity itself from its victims. The stories of loss and regret that come out of zombie settings can be pretty damn powerful, and they can make for some pretty great commentary (see Dawn of the Dead, 28 Days Later, The Girl With All the Gifts and other such stories for what I mean on this point.) If nothing else, I'm surprised that you haven't seen the obvious point that zombies are so appealing to videogamers because they are an excuse to shoot people guilt-free in-game, because they are no longer people, technically speaking. I feel like you folks really aren't much trying to look past the zombies themselves to understand their appeal. Any monster's appeal comes from the stories that it tells as much as the monster itself.

Agreed, this DLC was everything far cry isnt, so therefore it takes away the reasons that I have for playing far cry

Two new guns, not three, and they're basically just event guns added to the main campaign, never seen in the expansion.
Too bad video game industry must shit out the same zombie game over and over while avoiding any good concept with them. Death Road to Canada (not serious and has Oregon trail vibe), Cataclysm DDA (second most complex rogue like beside dwarf fortress where you can do whatever you want) and project zomboid (the most realistic zombie game ever made tho its stuck in development hell) are some of the survivors of the zombie genre. As a Romero movies and Max Brooks books fan I fell great disappointment when I see turds like this one.

The story didn't really exist but I loved the exploration, hunting and the raw feeling of the game. Not really a far cry game, but a fun game nonetheless.
