- I was struggling a bit with this one and I finally managed to do it. I decided to upload it so other people can follow if they're struggling too, should be doable! Good luck!
VERY IMPORTANT: Destroy the LC you encounter before going over the ravine with the bridge. You won't get an S rank if you do not destroy him. I did an insanely fast run with over 400k credit score in the end with almost no damage taken, but forgot to destroy the LC and just got A rank. I did kill him the next run and got S rank with more expenses.
thanks bro. I kept getting A rank despite literally speedrunning this mission with barely any damage. Even did it with destroying all fuel reserves.😅
If you get all 3 groups of fuel reserve tanks (and their $$$), destroying the LC doesn't appear to be required. It's easy enough to take it out, but just wanted to make sure people are aware it's not necessarily required:

This mission made me realize it's not ALWAYS about speed for the S-Ranking, since in this, I could do it so fast but ignoring bonus objectives and such cost me.
This one really wants you to just, double the initial payout of 240,000 and to get the S-rank and OFC, keep above losing money due to repairkit penalties and ammo costs.
I had a bonus pay of like 320k+ multiple times and I still didn’t get it until I tried to ignore most mobs and try to finish fast. It’s the other way for me, most missions I get S easily by killing more enemies, but here only speed was ultimately the deciding factor.
@@Decree_ It then feels like it's a mixture of both, speed needing to get it done in a certain time then also getting enough money in order to hit a money requirement.
I'm hoping, these become more listed since it does make it painful to S-Rank with trial-error, which is fun but othertimes, or in the case of this mission. Frustraiting

I wiped everything out getting like 592000 total A rank cause I took too much damage I really don’t know what this level wants from me

I’m starting the think nothing else matters but the speed. I ended my mission at like 4 and a half minutes with over 500,000 and still got an A
Speed matters a ton in this one I think but also you should try to kill some mobs along the way if you can spare it since payment also matters

Yeah I wasted so many tries going for the targets in the valley and more refueling pipes but in the end everything didn’t matter, even tho I took a lot of damage and last boss was a bit sloppy, I still got S rank based on speed. Hope the vid helped!

I didn't have your gear so I used a Songbird, Gatling, your energy blade, and Sweety Sixteen to lower the cost down to 16900. Seemingly, this also is the most successful setup, it's gotten me S on most missions by using the lightest parts till chapter 3.
Observations:
For that shield guy, try left of the pipe at 0:36 and catch him unaware with the bazooka or missiles. Dash kick (stun extension), sweet sixteen, blade, and Gatling later; He'll die a pacifist. lol
At 2:43 Bait the sword guy near that building in the mid-far right of the screen. Both have a light build and the top right corner of the boss arena is their weak point.
The environment is against them there and for an added bonus...the gun guy is nearly always behind the sword guys, so if the sword guy is fighting facing you in that area with his back to the reactor, the gun guy can get stuck in the silos up and near the wall from there for easy pickings.
Tap the jump/ascend button right before you run out of energy when assault boosting. You’ll keep a bit of momentum and not get penalized on recharge as hard as when you run the tanks dry. Helps a lot for some long boosts over gaps and such
I found running the tanks dry and waiting few seconds to get half of it back immediately is better for me but either way thanks for the tip, I already finished the game 100% but maybe someone else can try this for themselves.
@@Decree_ if you time it just right with the generators where it’s beneficial to run dry you can still jump cancel and drift forward right as you run out. Give it a try. I just learned it myself today. I wrote the reply and thought, well on the coral gens it’s better to run them all the way dry. Then I managed to run it dry and get the jump cancel/drift forward right as I ran it dry. It’s a bit of a tight window but it’s doable

pretty sure the bonus pay heavily affects S rank. i flew through the mission several times ignoring everything and only got A rank, but when i tried getting the oil tanks and most of the big mechs but did the mission slower overall i got S
It’s the other way for me in this mission, speed and some killing mobs along the way got me the S.
Sometimes if your ammo cost is high it can make your grade lower
So after getting s rank on this one you gotta kill the LC and 2 walk away 350k plus fast so for content i shot the 4 tanks on the way killed LC and never whent to the bottoms and bridge and didn't get re supplied just fly threw it and hit the target and wipe out boss area before the boss get there(they disappeared if you dont) kill the boss fast doesnt matter which order however i killed the sniper guy first because i like the other guys calling me one hella of a merc ;)
I genuinely do not understand this mission. I've done it with 3 heals left and the same route and STILL no S rank. Fuck this achievement
This whole time I thought using the resupply locked you out of S rank.... I've been S ranking these missions with no resupply all this time 😭
lmao that’s tough, a lot of missions you absolutely need to resupply otherwise if you die that for sure would lock you out of S rank afaik
After like 20 attempts i achieved an S with this same route, i used an extremely light mech running songbirds and the short shotguns. Killed only 6 of the fuel tanks but cleared the enemies under the bridge plus the two artillery on top, also cleared the enemies right before the double boss encounter. 170k bonus pay, 57k expense (23k repair, 34k ammo)
Do you mean this route took you 20 attempts or just in general? because I’m pretty sure this was my first try I got it when I tried to ignore most mobs but either way I’m glad the video helped!

Bro i did it really well and still got an A D: ... the only thing i didnt do the same is hitting both mechas with the charge attack melee weapon wich seems to save a lot or time or something ...
i wish the game was a bit more clear with the requirements for S ranks
this S rank system sucks ass sometimes ong, this mission has been the worst offender for me and it's my last one

Where and what are those launchers on your shoulders?
It's "SB-033M MORLEY" the scatter bazooka, you can probably use songbirds or the anti-ice worm weapon too as an alternatives.
