I love HUNTER. I grew up watching the show on NBC Saturday nights when I was a kid. Even in reruns on TBS SuperStation when I was in high school. I now have the complete series on DVD. “Works for me.”
I remember watching this show (reruns) back in the early 90's with my wife and first son. We had our house, a tv, bed and that's about it. Awww good times.
How many bad guys you think Hunter killed? 25? 50? 100? I always wondered which cop or agent has the most kills. Bauer from 24? Callen from NCIS LA? Crockett from MIAMI VICE? Gibbs from NCIS? Givens from JUSTIFIED? Hunter? Hondo from SWAT. McGarrett from HAWAII FIVE-O? My money is on SAIC Gibbs.

Great, great show! Show's that were around when I was growing up that I didn't pay much attention to (ie, Hunter, Starsky and Hutch, Rockford Files, etc) are now on my radar and I am enjoying them thoroughly... There is violence, but nothing graphic like it is today... no sexual innuendos every 15 seconds...these shows were fun, and took you away. Fred Dryer is fantastic as Hunter, and I had no idea he had such a extensive career in the NFL.... he's a great actor.
I miss all of the older shows. Magnum PI, Remington Steele, Moonlighting, The Master, Cagney & Lacy, Mike Hammer, Crime Story, Hill Street Blues, LA Law, & many others. Tons of comedies as well. Damn I am old.
The shows had soul in those days. Today it´s just all about money. That´s the difference. I loved my childhood in the 80s. Wouldn´t trade it for anything. :)
Old? Damn, so THATS what happened. I totally agree, Marc. The shows you mentioned, along with "... a marriage made in Disneyland..." (Hunter) really takes me back as well. And, let's not forget Silk Stalkings. Big thumbs up to coololds85 for sharing
I was a kid but I watched Hunter with my grandmother every day back then. lol She loved the show, and I got into it when I saw it on TV. :) Cheers was another great show I enjoyed as a kid. :)

Thnks for share a one piece of history! i love that serie.
I'm so glad I found this...In the early 90's I used to watch this every morning at 10 until they took it off for freakin' Matlock. I've seen every one at least a dozen times, but it never gets old somehow. Just so stereotypical mid 80's cop show I guess. Loved the apparent running gag that every time Hunter fires his gun at a car, it has to ramp off something, go airborne, and either destroy a shit-ton of property or explode into flames. LOL. And the obligatory ball-busting commanding officer, an 80's staple. Look at any Clint Eastwood cop drama movie and you'll see the blueprint for this. Enjoying it so much. Thanks
Fred Dryer Los Angeles Rams defensive end player, He played in superbowl XIV vs Pittsburgh Steelers; with 6/6 height, appropriate for playing the towering presence role as Sgt. Rick Hunter from LA Police Department.
Thanks for posting these. I recently started following this series on The Heroes & Icons channel but haven't been watching them from the beginning. So thank you for uploading them, it's become one of my favorite TV Police dramas. I love Rick Hunter!
I remember watching this show as a kid and when the episodes was over my brother and I would reenact it in our back yard. Thanks for the upload brings back many fond memories.
Rick wilson i never realized how funny he was and the cars they assigned him were terrible!!!! He said u might as well drag ur partner down to county and check into intensive care Lmfaooo

I liked enjoyed this show and I have several other shows to watch. I’m a 100% disabled vet and stuck at home. I have a tv with a dvd player with it, and we’re watching shows from the 60’s through then 90’s and I now have several different shows to watch. I also have lots of movies to watch as well. There’s not much to watch on tv these days,either..
"You and me? It's a marriage made in Disneyland" "Works for me" LOL. I really liked these two. Thank you for sharing. A lot of the oldies like this one are all that's worth watching, when compared to the "new" stuff of today.
watched it growing up Yeah heavy Cheesy but better TV than the crap we got now....Yeah Mom Dad and 3 kids watched it decent family programming of the day.....
i cant believe this air in 84. I do not remember this video but i do remember watching this show all the time as a kid. thank you for taking me back to a time where there were no computer, laptops, ipads, cell phones and the internet.
I personally think that the people that made Cops should have remade, as well as rebuilt and bought out, the show called Real Stories of the Highway Patrol and made a regular series out of that show. Also, on a side note, but why doesn't Alaska have counties, why does Louisiana insist on calling its counties parishes, and why doesn't Hawaii actually have a legitimate state police or highway patrol anymore?
I remember Fred Dryer acted in an episode of Cheers (as Sam Malone's best buddy)!!! I also remember thinking that its good for a change that a hero with receding hairline being cast as a protagonist for a change!!!
Yup, Dryer was actually the first choice to play Sam, however, the producers decided they wanted an ex-baseball player as opposed to an ex-football player.
@@michaelglickman1300 I read somewhere that Ted Danson was more charming than Fred Dryer and had better chemistry with Shelley Long during the audition even though Fred was a finalist

Awesome. I haven't seen Hunter in years. They never rerun it on TV. Its one of the few shows I can watch years later & I still like it. Thanks so much for posting this. Nice,
Fred Dryer and Stefanie Kramer were superb. What a show. Never missed this when I was a teenager. And still love it today at 52
