      That's because it is the STUPIDEST analysis I've ever heard.
      It's easier for stupid people to understand when the analysis is dumbed down.

    • @tomwebb8801
      @tomwebb8801 4 роки тому +7

      Indrekk Pringi don’t be condescending, you know it’s the people with lower IQ’s that tend to overestimate their capabilities. There’s no need to be rude nor impertinent to the viewers (and the channel). Maybe try being encouraging, because people are taking an interest in such a great game - and not a prick... 🤔

      In the desert You find some water you too, less of the condescension...

    • @tomwebb8801
      @tomwebb8801 4 роки тому +1

      In the desert You find some water no, first of all Agamator does a very good analysis of games for people with ratings in the range of 1200 to 1800, and he is a very good player himself. I agree that this analysis isn’t as deep, but is just as valuable for players with ratings

    • @tomwebb8801
      @tomwebb8801 4 роки тому +1

      In the desert You find some water what does he do that makes chess profit orientated, and it’s a good thing that chess is becoming more popular - a trend is even better! I really struggle to believe your rating, firstly because your grammar is appalling, and secondly because if you can’t make a decent point and chess channel, how am I supposed to believe you can make a decent move in games?

    I had to stop the video and complement you for such a great play by play announcement. I’ve watched this clip a couple of times before and suddenly realized how you differ from everyone else who’s doing similar videos. You give viewers time to digest the moves and really speak the minds of the players who played the game. I think you’re as good a as it gets. Keep it up and can’t wait for another one of your chess videos.

    Panno could've saved the game at 18:55 with Queen to G7- no matter what Bobby does he either loses more pieces or captures Panno's Queen with his, then Panno's King recaptures, the bishop of Bobby is forced back, and that saves the game.

    • @MathQOfQ
      @MathQOfQ 7 років тому +7

      It does hold mate off but white wins material. Bishop takes Knight on h7+. If the Queen takes Bishop, then Qxe6+ and wins the other knight and is 3 pawns up with more potential. If Kh8 or Kf8 then QxQ and after KxQ white can retreat the bishop and is 2 pawns up.

    At the end, why is it not optimal to take the knight with the queen? I understand that he would end up losing the queen but at that point it would be 2 knights and a bishop against a single queen for bobby Fischer, instead he was forced to resign a few moves later

      Maybe because Fischer is attacking his king and the only thing f6 accomplishes is weakening his king position. Hes already getting his dark squared bishop, a fantastic defensive piece, traded off, weaken his king further would not help anything.

      @MrDefeature 4 роки тому

      Way old comment but I agree
      Especially if black was going to just exchange to offload pressure anyways. I feel like pawn to f6 exchanges would've been more favorable and left black more kingside to help defend, and have a semi open file for his rook. Looks like a way better position.

    I have to praise Bobby. The man was a bit eccentric, but his mind was that of the most genius intellect on the board as any I've ever seen. Kasparov lived the game, which is why he is widely regarded as the greatest Chess player who ever lived. Alekhine studied with unsurpassed diligence, making him one of the most knowledgeable as to the moves themselves. Capablanca was born with natural talent, relying on his skill to accurately judge any situation. Bobby... He's Bobby. What else can I say?

    The American Chess Congress was the official sponsor of the BOBBY FISCHER INT’L CHESS PARK proposed to be built in Santa Monica to honor the only American to have won the World Chess Championship. Bobby had an impressive career and for many is considered the greatest in chess. He began to study chess at the age of six and became a voracious student of the game. Fischer won the United States Chess Championship at the age of fourteen and at fifteen became the youngest Grandmaster at that time. In two consecutive years, he won the United States Chess Championship with a perfect score and has held the title eight times. In 1972, he captured the World Chess Championship with a decisive lead. In 1975, the Soviets and the International Chess Federation [FIDE] claimed the title on forfeiture in what is still a controversial issue and thus began the FIDE World Chess Championship. In 1992, Fischer emerged to play a rematch for the real title and won in good fashion. He died in 2008.
    The chess tables at the foot of the pier in Santa Monica, California are known of internationally. It was the former site of the old Santa Monica Bay Chess Club. Bobby first played in Santa Monica during the Piatigorsky Cup [a strong international tournament] in 1966. When Fischer lived in Pasadena in the late eighties, he would delight many with his visits to the tables. For these reasons, the tables have been selected to honor a great American chess hero.

    ... and N to e4 might become a possibility in the future too. But generally I think this makes all of Black's pieces more active: once the knight moves, the bishop and queen are converging on the d4 pawn, the f8 rook is now attacking the f-line (knight and pawn), f2 pawn looks like it could be vulnerable down the road, etc,

    I posted some nitpicking things about some earlier play discussion, but so much time in this video was spent discussing minor issues that the blunder of 26...Qd8 is sortof glossed over. 26...Nf8 answers the queen by doing 3 things: 1) it protects the weak h pawn and the vulnerable g pawn; 2) it opens up the white squares should the bishop need to defend the weak f pawn; 3) it allows the queen to maintain an attack position while still allowing her to reposition if need be. It's simply a blunder.

    I don't at all intend to sound like a "hater", because I appreciate you posting these videos. I think your analysis could be a little more in depth. We can't simplify the highly calculated, strategic moves of these GMs to "he wants to protect this spot". I get it if you are trying to do that for the "mainstream" non-avid chess fans, and that you can't please everybody, but, personally, I'd like to see a more in depth analysis. Thank you!

    • @vladuchoo
      @vladuchoo 8 років тому +1

      +Edward Danielyan Totally agree, simplyfying the motivation behind GM moves might bring more harm than good. One could get a false sense of being able to play like Bobby Fischer just by developing minor pieces and controlling center with nice moves.

    Tal, and Kasparov. I don't deny Fishers genius, but in the end he died a raving lunatic, with a hatred towards the USA; a country that both supported him and celebrated him in his early career. And this blind hatred towards the U.S. extended to others as well, which does not speak well of him as a great man.

      Pure BS! I said that I didn't deny his genius, but he was not the best that ever was, and he did lose at times to certain others. Just how much do you know about some of the past great champions after all, or are you one of those juvenile people who just fell under the spell of his name alone. So don't try to lecture me about this subject when it comes to certain others of legendary status.

    0:50 Panno (now 85) is a retired engineer. He is regarded also as a very solid player difficult to beat. He has a couple of draws with Karpov. He has a conservative style that can remind us Andersson or Ribli.

    I saw a game by Bobby F where he moved one piece many times to win a game. The challenge was to figure which piece he Moved. Never seen it again. How many game he played I have no idea. How many were classic ones is unknown to me as well.
    Thanks for sharing this one.

    The advancing of pawn to g7 was a daring and tctical love. This pawn was there at the end of the game.

    Analizing the play at 18:30 on black turn after white pawn is moved, i wonder why panno didnt move the pawn to E4- taking the bishop as the queen now guards the "outpost" in F6 for the white knight, the black queen woud then be shielded by the white pawn at G6 from the white queen. I believe this woud give black a chance to stop the white attack and reorganize the white bishop to D3. Any comments are appretiated.

  • @rowstyles
    @rowstyles 11 років тому

    the fianchetto prevents this move from being effective. if the bishop comes to g5, pawn to h6 kicks the bishop back to h4, and then pawn to g5 wins the bishop. essentially you would be moving your bishop to pin, and then moving it back immediately after.

    I think fischer would respond to f6 with exf6; then after Bxf6, Qe3 and the black-squared bishop is targeting the rook on f8 while there is a double attack on the pawn on e6. If black recaptures Nxf6, then fischer can exchange bishops and the g-pawn is pinned and subject to something like h5.

    Bobby Fischer didn't waste anytime with Panno. He saw the guy waiting to get his pieces in order and committed to a action plan. Panno meanwhile was playing catchup (which was my weakness when i first started playing). These guys are awesome thinking so far ahead!

      Fischer within 10 moves had created a major weakness on f6.

  • @bruzote

    By forcing the rook exchange, Panno allowed Fischer to draw the black knight from e7. I would think the knight was much better off there.

    you should have mention at 19:24 that white can't move king to h1, because the continuation would be Qh4+ Kg2 Qxg4+ Ng3 Ne1+ and now if white moves Kh2 or Kg1, the black can repeat the check with knight having a draw, and if Kh1 Qf3+ black checkmates in 1 move

    Well, I'm running an analysis on it now. Looks like the optimal path after Qg7 starts with:
    BxN+ Kf8
    Qf6+ QxQ
    PxQ Nd6
    g5 Nf7
    g6 Nh6
    Nh5 Bd7
    Nf4 .....
    Analysis isn't complete (or at least as complete as it can get) but it looks like at best, Panno can delay Fisher's passed pawns and maybe get a draw. Given Fisher's demonstrated ability to coordinate his pieces, I doubt Panno could have pulled it off.

    why is it that panno resigned given fischer was close to the checkmate? I understand if there's a runaway pawn that can't be stopped and a resignation would save a long sequence of moves, but resigning like this just seems to take out the whole point of the game..

      When you are a grandmaster, you will understand. He is mathematically beat at that point no matter what move he makes. He resigned and shook his Bobbys hand.

      Fischer isn't just close to checkmate - it's mate next move. Kf8 is Panno's only legal move, to which Fischer plays Qg8#.
      This is hardly a quick resignation. GMs don't play all the way to mate. It's actually considered a bit rude.

  • @EndowedIce
    @EndowedIce 12 років тому

    @killergoku56 I might be mistaken but white can then play Bxh7+. The black king cannot retake because of the white queen and if the black retakes with Qxh7, then Bobby Fischer can play the nice move of Qxe7+, forking the king and knight and pulling ahead in material. If black does not recapture and moves his king somewhere else, white can pull his queen away and is up by 2 pawns in material.

    Hi, thanks for your answer. I agree this weakens the e6 pawn, but I'm not so concerned about the g-pawn pin (if white moves pawn to h5 before the advancement of the f7 pawn, I also think the black g-pawn should not capture, so nothing has really changed).
    As you point out, Bxf6 has weaknesses so I think Nxf6 is the better move (Rxf6 is also a possibility that I haven't really explored, probably not good), providing opportunities to take the g4 pawn (which weakens White's entire rhs attack)...

  • @alexrengo
    @alexrengo 11 років тому

    Because after f6 then the bishop will have to retreat and if he goes back to h4 then after pawn to g5 the bishop will be captured. If instead he retreats back to f4 or e3, then the bishop would have moved twice and he obviously didn't want to do that, he spends a tempo and activates an opponent's pawn.

    Fav Chess Player: Paul Morphy.
    By far. Very aggressive positional player. Top of the line at developing his pieces. He has the most interesting chess games, and watching them can give you the best possible grasp of how all the pieces coordinate. He impresses me the most when he has to settle down and play a calm game; cause he can also do that to.

  • @rowstyles

    Actually that move doesn't limit the queen's involvement. It only weakens black's defense for the king. If you run through the moves in your head, it seems that once f6 is played, PxP, and then BxP, the queen is kicked to f4, bishop moves back to defend rook, and then queen winds up back on g5. only now, rook e6 is threatened, and pawn h5 becomes much more powerful given the smaller support of the black king's pawn.

    I think this game may be prettier than Game 6 - Anyone agree? The final 3 moves, the order in which he decided to execute the final line - it is just as though he had painted a perfect portrait.

    at 8:40 i think fischer played b3 not because he was afraid of the pawn marching up the board, if he was then he would have played b4. instead he played b3 to stop blacks knight getting to the c4 square and forcing it to go back or be stuck at the side of the board, Rc8 also helped to prepare this b3 move. Great Video, good analysis.

    Black moved his Knight to a5 to then attack the white Knight and Fischer moved his Rook to c1 to take the black Knight if it took his white Knight first.

    it's worth mentioning that after Bxg6 Black can reply Qg7, but it fails to Bxh7+!, Qxh7 and Qxe6+, winning the knight on c8, getting connected passed pawns and a winning position.
