I just picked up the GB2 and only fiddled around with it before taking the time to properly ground balance it and utilize the discrimination feature to tune out the hot rocks. A few patrons and bartender at Rye Patch convinced me it was the go to detector for placer my claim up there. I'm ready to get back up there and wear this bad boy out. As far as the bracket Bill found.....I think it might be 2 eyeloops put together just for storage or to carry it up a pole. In my earlier days I used to be a lineman. That hardware could be something used on a guard arm to hang a guy wire or cable. Just a guess. Thanks for the video on the Gold Bug 2

All nuggets are beautiful! That's an awesome find. Itching to get my detector out again. I tried looking up the two eyebolts connected to each other and nothing came up. I'd guess that someone got creative and needed a male end on either side of the connection and came up with that genius, yet sketchy contraption 😂
I agree with you about the clamp and the dirty gold. That nugget has a lot of iron crustacean which tells me it's been there for a way long time. Would really like to go detecting with you Matt. 🇺🇸👍😎⛏
I'm thinking it's a clamp to bind two pieces of heavy chain or cable. Looked like a metal smith or blacksmith created it for a unique job. Fun day for sure. Congrats on the beautiful nugget.
I'm using the 6" coil designed for tight areas, crevices and small gold that most vlf detectors can't. The 10 and 14" coils go deeper. A lot depends on type of soil. Small coil 6" max. Big coil, 1ft +.

Let's say that the solar is on a low mineralization ... We have 14 inch coil haw much depth is... On a big target like helmet
