can't say that I too have ever been a fan of the nautilus/aquanaut/royal oak design. That said, a movement like this for the money, could tempt me to dabble with the design
The real respect for the audience and the content is definitely noticed! That countdown to the watch feature is very thoughtful and pure fan service. Much appreciated!
Nice to see San Martin using better movements. I wonder if those complications would be better suited on a dressier watch, more like the Longines Master collection. I also really like their new "travel" case; much more functional. I always thought the tub style looked like a garbage bin.
Having worked in radio at the start of my career the presence of a large microphone gives a focal point to the presenter. The sound has enhanced the tone of your voice Garry. Less accent more authority.... The watch case shape is a bit yuck but the dial is interesting. Kudos for San Martin for trying new things. Great review as always.
Most of UA-cam watch guys avoid yo talk about the “Chinese” made watch. I am so glad you do it. I do have an extensive watch collection ( some over $2000) and the best lume is from a Chinese watch, the most precise is a NH35 regulated from Chinese watch … just for few $$$$ ! I am not a pro-China guy buy there is something to talk about here……
I love the SanMartin crisp engineering on the finishing. Coming from a mechanical and metal background, I fully understand the quality. It’s not sharp, quality finishes
Patek from Guangzhou :D Finishing is nice but my honset opinion is that all this Chinesse brands except maybe Seagul and Shaghai are worthless just a piece of metal.
@@askeladd9591 not according to everyone that buys San Martin, and they have reasonably decent resale values, so your honest opinion doesn't reflect reality.
I've been waiting for this review. Saw the watch on their site a few weeks ago but couldn't find any reviews yet. Looks stunning and I'm so tempted even though I only bought my latest watch at Christmas. This addiction is getting worse 😂
Just got my SN0054 GMT today with the same leather case and I am absolutely in love with the watch and the case, can't wait to see what San Martin come up with next!
I would happily argue that my San Martin BB58 homage has case finishing on par with my Tudor BB GMT. Transitions can only get so sharp, and San Martin has pretty much gotten there. They also hand polish, which Tudor doesn't do.
San Martin definitely makes good valueable Watches for the Price. Nice hommage again from this good chinese brand. Thanks for your videos Always interesting !
Hi Gary, nice improvement of your studio. Very interesting dial/movement but, agree, not that case! Also, the white date wheel does looks out of place with the dark dial color. Regards
9:33 the old packaging always reminded me of a Patterson developing tank - I'd have to resist the urge to invert it twice each minute & give it a tap on the bench to dislodge the bubbles...
Shure MV7 with the Shure micro usb to lightning adapter cable and the iPhone Shure MOTIV app…I am recording the footage on my iPhone 12 and recording the sound on my old iPhone…matching the sound to the footage is easy in the lumafusion app….
@@ilikewatches thanks mate. I went to a usb into my laptop for voiceovers and it was night and day difference but I’m wanting something better for my camera input so I will look into this one. Thanks.
Unlike yourself I love the Nautilus. The case is so distinctive I don't like it being used on other watches. Butterfly clasps without half links is far too hit and miss for me. All that to one side the SM looks great quality, but not one for me. The new packaging is by far their best
Fantastic improvements all round gary👍🏼 I just love all San Martin full stainless steel watches. They make me like designs that before I wasn’t keen on. Just for the level of fit and finishing. Great movements and all this for a price the working man can reasonably afford! Long may it continue!!👏🏻
Sorry, but with the new mike and decor, your vids are great for inducing sleep last thing at night (a compliment I suppose !) - another great vid thanks 👍
9100 series movements have featured in Parnis, Ossine and Berny and Lobinni watches among others. I cannot believe this is the first time you encounter them, Gary. I think you might be mistaken.
Seriously hope they get the Miyota GMT movement in soon. Giving people the option of both styles of GMT in the same watch would be pretty unique, & awesome.
Nice watch ! You need to get one of those fuzzy Dagestan hats to set the scene in your intro , everything looks right except that your missing a hat . Cheers 👍 great review 👌
Like the improvements, just wondered whether you tried having the microphone placed above your head and how that would pick up your voice. If it worked it would hide the microphone from view and reintroduce the baseball bat swing.
I don't care for the watch this is based on so this one is a no from me. San Martin are making great watches for the money, tho. Nice changes to the look and sound of the video. You're doing great work, Gary!
I actually like the SN0075, the colorway, dial texture, the movement and look and definitely a fan of the new packaging - hated the big plastic tub my San Martin came in.
I like the watch and impressed with the movement, but they are now definitely in microbrand price territory. I wouldn't mind buying this watch, but will wait to see if there are discounts in the upcoming sale. Great video and marco shots Gary.
I really, really like this watch. This isn't really my style. I like sport/tool watches but this is very tempting. The new travel style case the watch comes in is a Home Run. I really like it and the green color. I see you can't buy it separately for some reason, only blue and black. They need to also sell it in green.
Nice update to the studio Gary, and that mic sounds great 👍🏻👌🏻 As for the watch, good looking watch and looks very well made - certainly looks substantial on wrist but why is the lume always a completely different colour on the hands to the indices! If they're the same strength/longevity, why are they different colours? Great review as always 👍🏻
@@ilikewatches thanks for reading my comment and replying Gary. I do think that San Martin are excellent quality watches - after all, it's your fault I bought far too many of them! 😂 Lume colour difference is around the 04:54 mark. I do find it stands out more on the darker dials, I had a green sn017 and that was hard to tell unless you looked for it but the Sn019 I had was very obvious and once you see it, you can see past it (for me anyways) I recently got into the Tissot PRX family and I cannot stop wearing them! Favourite is the panda chrono. Keep doing what you're doing mate, channel is going from strength to strength! 😎👍🏻
Hahaha so no more wielding the virtual baseball bat? 😄 I have to say, I like the updated setup. Over time it now has developed to being quite special! Couldn't agree more about the 'double crown guards'. On the watch alluded to they serve a purpose as there's a hinge hidden in the left one. Here, they are just unnecessary bulk. Aside from that, I'm not excited by the combination of the circular crystal and the octagonal bezel. But the new packaging is a massive upgrade. I wonder how they can include it without increasing the price. I found the old packaging quite ugly.
I'm a big Nautilus fan so me likey, but that butterfly clasp stops me dead, it's too much to pay for a watch that fits some of the time...if you're lucky.
I like the looks of the '75 but I hate integrated bracelets ! The voice does sound better mate. Have you ever thought of a timegrapher for your new look studio ?
Not a big fan of the first watch but was intrigued by the second one. Is it bronze?Would like to see the review on that! Still getting used to the new sound. I like the LED's though!
I've had a Melbourne Watch Company "Portsea" for about a year now with the 9122 movement (day and month subdials, normal date window). Keeps within COSC despite not being classed as such. To be honest, the 24 hour subdial seems unnecessary and crowds the dial on this SM.
Like the movement do not like the case size and that type ofbracelet. I guess they wanted to homage some certain watch. Should take just classical case like that field watch and put some nice ruby red dial or emerald green dial with brass case and slim bund strap. I am glad they expanded their movements even though they source top quality movements no matter HKPT or Seiko or Hangzhou.
I never heard of Nouse and Boyle's brand watches. Not sure if I heard that right. Ali express watches are becoming more expensive due to labour costs. The value proposition is diminishing.
My original comment didn't post for some reason....in short turn the 24 into a 31 date wheel, ditch the current date to tidy the dial....🏴⌚🏴⌚
can't say that I too have ever been a fan of the nautilus/aquanaut/royal oak design. That said, a movement like this for the money, could tempt me to dabble with the design
Sadly much large for my 6” wrist but that is INSANE quality for the price. Wow! just incredible. the new leather case is brilliant too.

My pleasure…it motivates me to stick to the important points and not just waffle for the sake of it…glad it’s appreciated
300 bucks for a finely finished watch and a miyota movement is not bad of a deal imo
