The authors of the game did not even look at the combat reports from both sides at the beginning of the offensive. August 1942 was cold and very rainy. Some historians explain precisely the weather failures of the Red Army. The cold did not always play on the side of the Russians.
And the fact that a German tank is not dug into the ground and a heavy howitzer near the trench line is an excellent target!

Appreciate your work,but you have historical miss - there we`re no Tigers in Rzhev in mid 42`,cause first actual use of PzKpfw VI happened later in autumn on Leningrad front, and on Kharkov direction Tigers debuted only in early 1943

This was a great battle! Those 88s and other arty really got a lot of kills. It did make me cringe though that the Panzer IIIs just charged out to meet the T-34s. They should've just stayed in their positions. Also would've been nice if they had been entrenched as well. But the defenses were really strong. Man, I love those arty pieces. Sexy equipment! 😍
