The Warning I believe are the best young rock band to come along in years. Being sisters, the harmonies are special as is usually the case with relatives. Their songwriting, vocals, instrumentals, and stage presence have just gotten better and better and they were great to start with! Typically, I have not been a fan of this type of music, but they have changed my mind. Their style is so different than other rock bands I've heard and I love it. Personally, I see Grammy's in their future. Thanks Jesse for all your insight as usual.

There is another video where Pau takes the lead on this song and a guest drummer sits in for Pau. Her stage presence is so energetic even as the front woman. This band is unbelievably talented! At this concert is the first time they ever played this song live, only been practiced in the "cave" before this event!

Love this song, too. I know you'll get to it when you get a chance, but I'll second the recommendation to check this song from the Metropolitan at the end of August when Pau got to step up front. Holy shit, you'd think she'd been performing out front for decades. These ladies radiate enough charisma to power a small city. There are a couple others where Arejay from Halestorm played drums for Pau, just googling Narcissista you should be able to tell by the description.

The guitar is a Rick Toone Spearfish, I believe. And in my opinion that is Dany's finest solo. Sits so well into the groove of the song.

Yes, that is her Rick Toone Spearfish but it's the Moby Dick model. Her other Rick Toone guitar the dark sunburst one is the base Spearfish. Sure the slanted frets are cool but what the major selling point for Dany was it's incredible light weight and aluminum bolt on neck. The neck can be detached for easier travel but still stay in tune...
At thier last couple of shows with halestorm arejay hale played drums while pau stepped from behind the kit to sing.
Love your reactions, this song and performance is dripping with attitude! Dany's Guitar is a custom Rick Toone Spearfish with solid aluminum neck with as you noted multi-scale fret. I love it! Dany isn't afraid to try new things.

Narcisista was written as a single in 2019 and premiered live at this concert. The guitar Dany was playing is one of her two Rick Toone "Spearfish" guitars.
I have seen them live twice now and I love it when they play this song. They slay every time.

This was the first song they wrote in Spanish cuz they said it's more of a challenge for them to write songs in Spanish, but I think it's safe to say they knocked it out of the park lol. This is one of my favorite songs to see them perform live cuz of the energy and every time that pause comes in it feels like she's taking flight when that solo starts. This might be my favorite bassline of Ale's as well, if not it's at least up there with: Dust to Dust, The One, Z, ANIMOSITY, and MONEY. It always amazes me how Pau can sing in pitch while PAUnding away on the drums like that.
You're right, great songs do not need to be complicated. It's not like singing, drumming, starting/ stopping the visuals, swapping sticks, and casting spells all at the same time is difficult or anything. 😝

Besides drumming & singing, pau controls visuals, click tracks etc. She has used 2 hi hats before. I think there are clips of dany & i think ale covering their gear/pedalboards.
I've said this many times... this is in the top 5 of my all time favorite videos, of any group. Pau's pissed look, her hand gestures and finger pointing, the tone of Dany's guitar, and the fact that they displayed the lyrics on the screen so there was no doubt to the message, just priceless.

That Rick Toone Luthier Guitar is something special, but with a metal Neck, it's got it's umm... Unique qualities. The frets are straight vertical in the center, and pitch away up and down the neck. It's to give the artist a more natural feel as they move their hand along the frets, thus being able to play longer comfortably. I'm just glad you didn't react to PSYCHOTIC after this one. Not sure you could have taken it, and you might have ended up in the Hospital. 🤣
Jesse all your commentary is interesting to listen to but frankly goes over my head as a non-musician. All I know is these sisters sound great and the lyrics are always interesting and/or meaningful. I LOVE The Warning!! Spread the love this holiday season by introducing The Warning to people you meet.
Excellent reaction, "The Warning" they are amazing! fun fact at the Ted talk show in Nevada, there Pau broke one of his drumsticks and the broken piece of wood stayed on top of one of the cymbals on the right side, after Pau changed sticks shortly after she hits that cymbal and the little piece of stick flies out and it looks like she has broken the stick again.

Love the attitude and the meaning/reason that Pau wrote the song. If you want to conquer the world you can’t think small. My favorite band for the last year plus and will be for the foreseeable future. Everything is always perfect and every box is always checked. I just can’t get enough

That Spearfish is a super fast guitar.
The neck is extremely thin and is made of aircraft grade aluminum. It also really resonates the sound. It rings out with a bright sound.
This song is the greatest FU song in rock history.
I don't know if rock ( not new metal) will make a come back but if it does The Warning will be the biggest band in the world.
Did you ever see youtube video of the Eruca Sativa concert (another amazing mexican power trio, older than the warning), when it was I guess a smaller club and not much of a turnout at the show, and Dany was there just watching the show and the guitarist from Eruca Sativa recognized Dany, snuck out off stage in the middle an instrumental jam part of a song (they do long funk instrumentals) and ran up beside Dany (guitar was on wireless) and handed the guitar to Dany (who refused at first and looked mildly irritated to be put on the spot), then yelled something in Dany's ear (maybe the key of the song?) and Dany proceeded to SHRED for like 30 seconds with a beautiful improvised solo that in it's first 15 seconds was the kind of lead skills she never uses in The Warning, and then kind of broke into a kind of Gilmour-esque solo style... it was awesome, then she handed the guitar back because, I mean let's be honest, she came there to take a night OFF from playing guitar LoL. ua-cam.com/video/jvir76ZUBI4/v-deo.html

My understanding is that this song was their response to some local media criticizing them for only doing songs in English. Check.out the translation. She rips them good, in Spanish. Lol
I love Ale's bass sound here. The 5-string Spector she plays now is a fine instrument but her old Spector Euro had a fantastic 'dirty' sound and with effects she almost sounds a bit like Lemmy (RIP) here, at times.
I hate it when reactors interrupt constantly, usually to add inconsequential comments, but I do enjoy it immensely when you do it. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and joy in music.

I don’t know exactly where she employs it but Ale said she can make a more filling noise when they are live by plucking 2 strings at once.
This and Martiro (sp) are both in Spanish, but for those of us who can't understand a darn word, it doesn't matter. The songs both rock hard! Pau has stated that singing hard rock in Spanish is very difficult. The melodies and beat have to be written to the way the lyrics sung in Spanish have to be articulated.
For anyone else that enjoys a singing drummer (female), check out Mono Inc. They've been around for more than 20 years but I only discovered them recently. Katha's vocals are angelic. She doesn't often do them live (because the not-drumming-at-the-same-time version does sound better) but she can and it's always impressive. ua-cam.com/video/_7KUtXYDwO0/v-deo.html Cool band. Jen Ledger of Skillet is the other stand-out example. Obviously there are others, but not many (any?) that have achieved mainstream success.
This is one of the few songs they have written that I do not like. The concept was tremendous. The fact that they are telling their detractors to get bent (in Spanish) is a masterstroke. The song itself has never sat well with me. All in all, a lot of fans love it so mission accomplished. 🙂

You didn’t say much about Pau pointing to the words. The words say ‘you know nothing’ and she wants to emphasize this. She is pumped here for this song. You can see this clearly from the arms moving and fingers pointing.
You don't need the translation to see that's one pissed-off little latina. This is a big middle finger to critics who claimed they were not Mexican enough because they sing in English and play rock music. So they did this one in Spanish and called them stupid.

@@Beldvlmnt a critic had called them malinchista; cultural traitors. This song was their reply and they did it in Spanish to drive the point home. They still play it in concerts when they have a longer set and the audience gets into it and sings along whether the language of the audience is Spanish, English, French or something else. A much more effective reply than throwing a fit like a lot of artists would have done. As a side note, this is one of the few songs that they do credit another writer during interviews for her contribution, their mom. They got their mother to go through the song and make sure all of the nuances of Spanish grammar were correct.

Pau can sing higher than her sisters but with that rad rasp she has, it comes off lower. Magic
