    Rain, sleet, or snow. MDLR will still be out finding the fish, while all the other UA-camrs have start hibernating for the winter.

    Heck yeah another good day of fishing. That was a nice 20 inch trout. Nice and fat will be good eating for sure. I've never had a lot of luck with popping cork catching bigger fish. I always find the big ones at the bottom as well. It's the same for fishing birds. The small ones are normally near the top so what I do is put on a 3/8 jighead and try to make it sink fast so I can get past all the small ones and get to the bigger ones hanging at the bottom of the school.

    I wonder if fish change over time. I put a 31" trout on my wall thirty years ago with a redtail jig under a popping cork. I haven't been back to that location since then but it certainly worked once upon a time.

      @@MDLRFishing It was a pretty cool trip. We got into a school of sow trout in Baffin Bay. For an hour we didn't land a trout under 26". Our tackle wasn't really heavy enough for those fish so each one took a while to land.

    I am a native Texan and fish fresh and salt and you may want to share your locations with the ones who don't know the Gulf Coast: West Bay, Oyster Creek, Turning Basin, Christmas Bay, and many others, I promise they will not catch all the fish.

    Call me a snob, elitist, or idiot, but I wont throw a cork. I wont use live either. Sure as hell wont use live under a cork. I wish croaker was a game fish so they werent used by anyone. To each their own.

      @rafaelzuniga3673 11 місяців тому

      I disagree with you about using live and popping corks. However I agree about croakers being used for bait. My 75 year old dad has photos of the times him and his brother would catch stringers of golden croakers in the 12-18 inch range as a kid in corpus christi in the early to late fall.

      😂👍 there’s a reason why guides always use this method.

    • @ETuss713
      @ETuss713 11 місяців тому

      @@rafaelzuniga3673I want to catch them how I want. Ot makes it more of a challenge. It also eliminates trash and undersized fish. Of ypu just want to get out and feel a fish on the other end, fine. Whatever you like.
      There's a reason not all ski slopes a the bunny slope. Not all games come set on easy mode.
      I understand why guides use corks, they need to. I wouldn't go with a guide who uses a cork setup. When I go with a guide its to learn something new or refine a skill.
      If you use them great. Enjoy fishing however. I have a different perspective

I know you posted about it awhile back but I was wondering if you could get a close up or if you know of some educational videos you could share that thoroughly demonstrate the method.
