Looks like you only welded the edges. Okay for adding a rub guard like this video since it's only holding it, but fixing a crack or holes you need to fuse the old and new material entirely.
It’s the only one that pulses heat and makes the polymer chains stand up to be intermingled with the welding rod. All other heat guns just blow hot air and don’t “weld” properly.
Brilliant, thanks man, that is exactly what I need to do.
Awesome, you can always pretty it up @ anytime, so long as repair is solid, & can be done over & over!!!
+John E. Osman III Yes you can always weld a kayak (quality Kayak), you can repeat it as many time as you require with in reason! all the best

Yes we do all kinds of repairs,
I could have welded the rub guard to the hull but it was way to worn and thin.
Nice welding!!
Good job bro all the best
Where can i buy the rods and poly material?
Amazon they are called a hot air welder. They have speed attachments so you can feed in the rod as well
good job dad! :D
Thanks son
Same welder I have. Except I use a speed feed welder head.👍
Where can you buy the materials to do the fix?

That looked awesome, what kind of machine was that? (the green hand held one with the unique tip)
It’s a Leister Triac

What's the heat setting on your welding gun?

Too bad that the Leicester Triac Heatgun is avery expensive professional tool.
The plastic welder heat gun from harbor freight is actually a great tool and not too much money.

That is very sloppy and is a marginal repair. Using a flame for plastic repair is very difficult to control and can create more problems.
I’m not using a flame.
It’s a Leister Triac plastic welding gun.
puh, sloppy my ass.
