When i was a kid, in the evening if i let the door of my bedroom slightly open i could see the lights from the living room where my parents were watching tv, and the faded sounds with the feeling that someone was still awake in the house was so soothing and relaxing, and its exactly what these kind of videos make me feel like. Could not agree more! Both of my grandparents on my Father's side were born in the late teens, and this reminds me of how their home would sound. Really make me nostalgic, and I am only in my late 30's.

I myself listen to oldies music and my friends are always saying I’m crazy because I’m 13 and say this music is trash. It gives me a feeling of sanctuary and comfort. A place of happiness where I can leave all my troubles and just dream on about all the joyful things in life.

Thank you for these videos! I suffer from anxiety and pretty bad insomnia, and these videos soothe me so much and help me sleep. So peaceful and nostalgic - makes me think of my grandparents. 🙏🏻
My discovery of this playlist has occurred at a strange time in my life, and for some reason, it has helped me articulate some of my problems. The full gravity of my adulthood is slowly becoming apparent. My grandparents are retiring. My dad has call me to come help him with work around the house. Myself and my siblings are all moved out. Nobody told me about this part of life. I have a desperate longing for naivety of my youth, where I had simple concerns, which for me seems so near, but completely beyond my reach. It was not long ago I felt as though I was under control of my own circumstance, but now, I am adrift in the cold, lonely world with only ghosts of my past living in boxes at my parents house. I used to think my whole life would be the same, fun, carefree, and spontaneous, and I perhaps have a few more years of that, but my time in running out. I have already begun providing for myself primarily, but the thought of moving far away, and having no access to my home makes me terrified. However, having dispelled this despair in this way has helped me realize how many adventures I still have ahead of me. I will be married in December. I will be moving to a new city soon, and I will perhaps one day have a child, who will live this same beautiful experience. Memories never die, and maybe they are sometimes better as memories. Anyways, L'Chaim.

These videos always remind me so much of my great-grandparents house. When I was younger, we only lived about 20 blocks from them, so my mom and siblings and I would walk there to visit really often and they'd always have the oldies music tv station playing. My great-grandpa passed away four years ago, but we still have my great-grandma and I try to visit her as often as I can. She means the world to me and my heart breaks just thinking of the fact that we'll eventually lose her too. These videos are so comforting and calming to me, and remind me of the countless afternoons with my Papa and Grammy dearest and our precious memories together. 💜💜💜

This reminds me of growing up watching the tv in my grandpa & grandma’s room at night not knowing where the familiar shows came from every night and soon I anticipated them while listening to similar tunes of the black & white show not fully understanding but observing that my grandparents were reminiscing/daydreaming of their earlier lives as they sat joyfully but painfully side by side. My mind was flowing with joy & my body was exploding with love for my life.
Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like they are channeling a past life as they listen to this?
I don’t know why, but this makes me cry. Just hearing the old nostalgic music, it really brings the tears. I miss the days where things were so much simpler, back when everyone was happy. It’s honestly so sad nowadays, where everyone has a reason to be depressed. Sometimes I imagine death as a way back, to when things were cheerful and light. I would give anything to change this world back to what it was. This might sound depressing, but really it’s my way of finding hope. Im actually typing this while the music is playing in the background, and tears of so many different emotions are forming. So many different thoughts that can’t be explained in any way I can think of. Truly, the only hope we have of this type of lifestyle are these youtube videos, and the older ones who are sadly dying off and leaving is. To be honest, I feel the most sorry for those people, the people who lived in this wondrous time period, but are now stuck with this. Any how, I hope whoever reads this text of tears can at least sympathize with me a little bit. If you do however read this, I also hope you have a peaceful rest of your life.
