You know you’re listening to something worthwhile when you have to pause it to look things up and come back to listening. These are really good people. Thank you.
The most profound thing I learned from studying the DSS and brought out by this professor is how fluid the Jewish Bible and foundation of the NT was before 70 CE and the need to solidify to adapt to the Pax Romana. Thank you for a precise explanatory video!
Does anyone know the name of the James A. Sanders book that Dr, Lee Martin Mcdonald mentioned in the beggining of the video? The one with the 85 examples. Please!
How much of the N.T. writings were in the hands of the early Christians when Emperor Diocletian destroyed them across the Roman Empire? This was long before the 5th century collation of the N.T. scriptures that you mentioned.
The word of God was oublished in the first century. It was so close to the time if Jesus, that it was sufficient to have individual letters and epistles/gospels to be circulated to the house churches.
Why are there hundreds of variant versions of the Christian bibles none used match the koine Greek new testament or Hebrew sources? Significant changes made. Excellent channel 👍
0:36 reminds me of jesus 1st encounter with his adversary " it is written, and satan; replies it is also written. Same as always today more so with internet.
The providence of God has overseen the bringing of the canon to the true believers. He had preserved the bible perfectly, inpired fully, and translated them by His wisdom. Thank you for filling in some gaps.
I knew the scriptures were the truth after being convicted of my totally depraved state, trying philosophy, and even eastern religions. Then God called me and separated me from the world. In the Gospel I read how Jesus, unlike the scribes and Pharisees spoke as one having authority. Then I read how those who heard Jesus say, "Did not our hearts burn within us when we heard him speak?". That got me hooked, and I have never looked back.

I couldn't have agreed more

Another impressive guest. I admire the humility and open-mindedness...
Carry on, Jacob ! 🙂
What an enthusiastic host. It’s not everyday you see the eighty year old scholar having more charisma that his youthful host.
i jumped up when the phone rang its was an awakening
Me techno-dancing to the music in the intro as Dr. McDonald's accreditations are read. ;)
Wow! The first 2 minutes are this man's credentials. Impressive.
Excellent presentation! Shows how little we know and how little the church teaches us about the formation of a canon.
Great video again. Another good detailed interview.
Thank you again. Very interesting guests. U and guests have helped again.
Damn Jacob! You ain't buttoned that top button. Is you backsliding a little bit my brother? 🤭
Jacob, procure ser mais amável numa próxima entrevista. Lee Martin é como se fosse um vovô para mim, e um vovô muito sábio!

Good, smart guy

Fyi, the intro music is overpowering your audio. Looking forward to the interview.

I love this channel, but most of all I like how robotic the host is.😂
im not sure if the guy is blind
I think he was in a tv show called the Thunderbirds
I've always said Jacob would make a phenomenal poker player. It's awesome. Makes me laugh.
Dude. I also think he looks like Nicholas Cage@stopthewave3907
@stopthewave3907 duuuude, I KNOW RIIIGHTT!?? Hahahaha

how do you know whats written in the Bible is true in the first place~~~how would show it comes from God
That isn't the theme of many of these scholars. The good Doctor is talking about verifiable history.
It's not and you can't.

Someone is softly talking through the music.
I hate the intro music!
I enjoy it… it’s just a bit too loud is all.
I like it - much better than the old one. Or the channels that play awful heavy rock at the beginning to show how cool they are.
A patchwork religion. And it shows.
