Though not a profession historian, Jenkins' vast parliamentary experience and knowledge of constitutional nuance, brought a different light to bear on Churchill that illuminated many aspects of his career, that I, at least, had not fully, if at all in some instances, fully appreciated before reading his biography.
I loved it when Churchill was asked by his dancing partner to get closer, he answered: if I get any closer madame, I would be behind you.
