Queen Alexandra Sixth Form College Before Demolition

Queen Alexandra Sixth Form College has been closed and is up for sale. The historic former North Shields school is now up for sale and has generated a great deal of interest among developers.
It was latterly known as the Queen Alexandra Sixth Form College, a Grade II listed building on Hawkeys Lane which was built in 1909.
Part of the site will be retained and converted into apartments whilst the other part will be demolished an redeveloped for housing.

Loved my time at Tynemouth College in the early 90s. Had some great friends with whom I've lost touch with over the years. Sad to see the college building is going. Glad the Hawkeys Lane building is staying but not sure about the redevelopment. Lovely building - we did some great concerts there.
