Make a table on based on this model. Used an old attic fan motor; added a pulley; drilled a hole in the pulley and bolted on a mass of washers to unbalance it. Works like a charm. Total cost under $25.00

hey mate. awesome job. i use your idea but changed a few things. i dont have a motor that vibrates and did not want to spend money to get oe, what i do have is a are compressor and die-grinder. i had a stuffed tire and with the compressor i can control the speed and i just zip-tied it to some sheet metal that is bolted to the tire and just used a old bet screwdriver to make it vibrate and is awsesome. your vid helped me out some much so thankyou

    Great....
The only thing I see is you might need is a simple frame work to hold the mold in place while vibrating. I realize some molds might be larger than others and shape wise but you just need a “stop” (2”x2” or larger strips) to keep the mold(s) from accidentally vibrating off the edge and making a mess. Could make different sizes to hold different molds so make the stops removable. Heck you could have a sneezing fit, a sudden back pain, anything that might make you turn loose of the mold and in a split second...off the edge.
You could use a couple more tires, and longer board so you do more molds at one time. In this case you would need an edge stop - as you don’t have enough hands to hold multiple molds.
Great job..will have to check out your molds. I have made these and it always takes time getting it smooth and mixed in. The only thing is don’t vibrate too long or the aggregate will go to the bottom and affect curing and long tern durability.

Does the motor have an off set lobe attached to the arbor to cause the shaking? If I have a capacitor mounted on the top of my motor should I seperate it to prevent damage from the vibration? Thanks for posting this I have a need for a larger table for plaster casting and already own a larger induction motor off an old table saw. its a vibrating motor search it on amazon.. just a motor with an unbalanced load on it that causes vibrations. assuming it's 3/4" plywood table top it should be enough to hold your mother in law if she's tempted to have a seat (500-600lbs capacity / weight of the average american).
