That requires bigger size meaning less room on the desk. People who have R2 are literally selling those and chasing after R1 just because of the seemingly insignificant size difference.
Then why didn’t they include it seven years ago when the OG came out? Stereo was available in the MPC 1000 two decades ago. The 1000 can also have six times as much internal storage as the DTII, and you can add a battery to the 1000, I did it to mine. And the 1000 has removable storage (CF), this doesn’t. The DTII REQUIRES a laptop or desktop… WHAT is exciting about this product?
@@EverettVinzant The Digitakt I or II doesn't require a desktop and you won't be able to do 10% of what it can achieve with an MPC 1000. Also note that stereo is 2 voice polyphony per track, that's the sacrifice they had to make at the time with the DT1 to accomodate their ultra fast sequencer, Parameter locks and sound locks workflow. And for me that was plenty worth the trade off. The tracks were only mono, sure, but the machine itself and its FXs were stereo so there wasn't any issue working only with mono samples really... Now with the DT2, they cramped up the Elektron sequencer, parameter locks, sound locks, etc + 16 stereo tracks. What's not to like?
@@ballroom6Hahaa, only 10% huh? How you figure? As far as the Digitrak2 ugly looking calculator box goes, there’s a fk ton of things not to like about! No slicing or chopping mode, No SD card, no looper…🤷🏻
@@Billy_Batts Yes. It's a different machine than the ones that got these features. I'd suggest you buy something else instead if that's important to you. Keep in mind they're not important for everyone. Yes, 10%. How don't you figure?
20 years ago - compared to the market - this would have been revolutionary. Seven years ago, when the OG Digitakt came out, this would have been competitive. Now? This IS the punchline of what happens when Teenage Engineering isn’t involved in an overpriced product. First, let’s compare its features to something used for half the price. An MPC One. I’m already able to do EVERYTHING this can do, for half the price (used), with a bigger full color touch screen. Using USB audio I could expand I/O to have an additional 32 ports. “But this has overbridge.” True, and to use it I HAVE to have a laptop or desktop, AND a DAW. But I’d have to have that anyway because there’s no way to put samples in this thing without one. However with the MPC I could use a phone that I likely own to get samples in to the MPC using… An SD card. What, a device made in 2024 doesn’t have compatibility with external storage of some type? And if I compare this to my MPC 1000 from 2010 that I retrofit a battery in to? Well, my MPC1000 has a 120GB PATA storage compared to the 20GB here. It also works with stereo samples, has effects, filters, a bigger screen, velocity sensitive pads. And for the price of the DTII I could get $250 of samples to going in my 1000… Who is going to pay $1000 for this? Someone that wants to upgrade their OG Digitakt… Reverb has over a dozen used for $500. They’re gonna HAVE to lower those prices to around $300 because they’ll be laughed out of existence when the $500 price is compared to a 404MKII… NEW, with STEREO SAMPLES I could get a used Live II for $1000… and have a built in battery and speakers, and ADD 2TB of internal storage at my convenience… Who in their right mind would buy this when there are used devices that are cheaper and as good, used devices that are the same price and better.. and if I spend a couple hundred more dollars, I can smoke this thing? This is one of those “Apple Halo” things right?
I saw u on the Digitakt presentation and went 🙌🏾 Ayyyyeeeeee, congratulations on that!! You came with the 🔥🔥.
This is the craziest set…god damn.
That was such a good jam!!
I'd love to have seen the Digitakt II in the AR/A4 MK2 HW format with pads and more I/O etc, think they missed a trick in the form factor IMHO

maaaan! I Remember when this channel was almost brand new! Keep going my G
Thanks! Will do! Appreciate you!
Nie one!
Congrats on landing the Elektron gig :)
Are you able to edit in and out points in sample? This is a must for any sampler.
you were able to do that in DT1 already unless im misunderstanding something
Start and end points yes
I miss the amber
"Can the Digitakt II synchronize samples to your tempo, similar to Serato Sample?"
Wicked!
I saw some people complaining about chopping up samples. What am I missing lol
dope
Stereo audio makes all the difference

@@EverettVinzant you are 100% correct. They should have included stereo. Love it or hate it, elektron is being greedy with their development ideas
